Chapter 881 Dark Demons
Chapter 881 Dark Demons
"I personally prefer the Chinese style," Ding Yi said with a smile. "After all, as Huaxia people, a Chinese-style wedding has the most flavor. But this is just my personal opinion. The specifics still need to be determined by what the two kids think. You two kids, speak up and see, see what kind of wedding you prefer."
Lin Feng said nonchalantly from the side, "I have no particular suggestions; it’s up to Wan’er. Whatever kind she likes, we’ll do." This was indeed Lin Feng’s true thoughts. He really had no requirements in this area; everything depended on Ding Wan’er’s preference.
"Grandpa, uncles, and aunts," Ding Wan’er said as soon as she entered the door and was seated by Zhang Lan, her face flushed with embarrassment. "I personally plan to have a Chinese-style wedding, just as Grandpa said. Huaxia people should have a Chinese-style wedding, but I’m a bit worried—won’t a Chinese-style wedding be too troublesome?" This was the one concern she had.
"That’s easy to handle. Since both Wan’er and Elder Ding want a Chinese-style wedding, then we’ll do a Chinese-style one," Lin Yiwen quickly said, expressing his view. He also hoped his son’s wedding would be Chinese-style. The words of Ding Yi and Ding Wan’er were exactly what he wanted to hear. The only thing to note was to simplify it a bit and avoid overburdening the two kids.
"Yes, if a Chinese-style wedding follows traditional customs, it is indeed quite complicated," Ding Yi nodded in agreement with Lin Yiwen. "However, some overly complex procedures can be removed. None of us are experts in this area, so let’s consult those who are. After all, the main thing is to make it easier for the kids, right?"
"Alright, let’s follow Elder Ding’s lead for now. Today we are just discussing a general idea. Later on, we’ll take separate actions. The point is, it’s all for the kids’ benefit. I agree with Elder Ding," Lin Yiwen added, feeling that Elder Ding’s suggestion was good.
"Elder Ding, I’ll have to trouble you with this matter since you’ve been in Tianhai for so many years and surely know such people. My husband and I are both very busy with work, so we can only rely on you for this," Zhang Lan said with a smile, as they had no choice but to ask Elder Ding for help.
"No problem at all," Ding Yi replied simply, to which he truly didn’t find difficult. He might not know wedding planners, but it would be easy to find one as soon as he asked—as this was for his granddaughter’s wedding, how could he refuse?
"Let’s move on to discuss the kids’ housing," he continued. "What ideas do you have, Elder Ding?"
"The house is for the two kids to decide. What opinions could I have? Just ask them where they want to live. You two, speak up. Where do you want to live?"
"Grandpa, I’d like to live near Uncle and Auntie’s place. It would be more convenient to take care of them. What do you say, Lin Feng?"
"I don’t mind, but living here is nice too. It’s a bit quieter."
"You kid, you now have in-laws and don’t need Grandpa anymore. What am I to do with you in the future, haha..."
"Grandpa, what are you saying? I’ll be working at the university during the day. To visit you is just a short walk away, and still you say this."
"That’s fine," Zhang Lan said happily, "If the child lives here, it’s convenient for mutual care."
"Then it’s settled. I’ll have a look around the housing complex and buy another villa. We’ll decorate it as the new house for the two kids."
"Son, Wan’er, as for the design and decoration, it’s up to you two. After all, our tastes differ from yours. Moreover, your dad and I are usually quite busy, so you’ll have to oversee it."
"No problem."
"Uncle and Auntie, don’t worry. We’ll manage it ourselves."
"Wan’er, we agreed, when it comes to spending money, we’ll take care of it," Elder Ding said. "Even though none of us are short on cash, it’s a gesture from us as elders, understand?"
"Alright, I agree. It’s up to Lin Feng now."
"Just do as mom and dad say."
...
Five people sat in the room, discussing the wedding arrangements and reaching a basic consensus. Unknowingly, several hours had passed. Lin Feng volunteered to prepare some late-night snacks. After eating, Lin Feng drove Ding Wan’er and Ding Yi back home respectively, thus ending the busy day...
...
On the other side of the ocean in M Country, a shocking event was unfolding.
A secret military base, hidden deep in the mountains, received an unwelcome visit. The group wasn’t large, just a dozen individuals, but not ordinary by any means. Each one moved like a ghost through the jungle, silently breaching the multiple checkpoints of the military base and arriving at its entrance.
"Old Three, have you taken care of everyone outside?" asked a man of average stature, dressed in military camouflage and wearing a Ghostface mask. He had come here for revenge, and after long planning, he didn’t want any slip-ups.
"Boss, rest assured, all the sentries, both conspicuous and hidden, didn’t make a sound. They’ve been dealt with. For us ’Dark Demons’, killing these people is all too easy," replied the person called Old Three, similarly short and dressed in military camouflage, his face obscured by a clown mask. The Dark Demons, an organization dedicated to assassination, found infiltrating a military base like this not too difficult with proper planning.
However, Old Three’s mind was on why the Boss wanted to target this base. If it were not for the Boss’s previous guidance, they might have encountered problems. There were simply too many sentries to count and guard against, even in the trees. If they hadn’t been careful to avoid raising the alarm, they would have been in trouble today, especially since they were only a dozen against potentially hundreds of seasoned soldiers.
He was curious about the purpose of this military base and the reason for its formidable security. Working alongside the Boss for so many years taught him not to ask such questions. Nevertheless, once inside the military base, everything would become clear.
"Good, there’s about an hour left before they change guard, which gives us enough time. Now it’s all up to ’Glasses’," said Ghostface. Glasses, the only member of the team not skilled in assassination, played a crucial role as a computer genius. With him disrupting the alarm systems, their operation was unlikely to encounter problems.
"Alright, I’m on it," Old Three responded to Ghostface’s order and went to find Glasses to carry out the command...
Half an hour later...
"Boss, it’s done," Old Three reported back to Ghostface with a simple phrase. Glasses had successfully breached the computer defense and taken control of the base’s central system, shutting down the alarm, effectively severing the base’s connection to the outside world. With Glasses in control, they would be instantly alerted to any exceptional circumstances.
"Let’s go in, and remember, leave no survivors," Ghostface instructed briefly before boldly leading the way into the military base. With Glasses in control of the central computer, they had no more concerns. To these trained hands, the soldiers were nothing—a fact beyond doubt.
As he walked, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of coming full circle, never imagining that he would return to this place after all these years. But this time, he wouldn’t leave empty-handed.
A dozen individuals, all in military camouflage and masked, followed Ghostface into the military base’s main gate.
All the soldiers who laid eyes on them didn’t even get a chance to react before they were swiftly deprived of life. The base was eerily silent, as if nothing had happened. In reality, the soldiers had lost their most precious lives without realizing. It wasn’t their fault for failing to guard; they couldn’t have dreamt they’d encounter the top assassination organization in the Assassin World, the Dark Demons! Before the Dark Demons, no one could escape their deadly reach...
Assassins were trained in the art of killing, but Dark Demons were assassins of assassins, experts in stealth kills, striking without allowing for any reaction. Such prowess was truly terrifying!
They advanced, killing as they went, until they reached a massive iron door. By then, they had eliminated all defensive soldiers within the base, leaving it a river of blood. Yet in all this carnage, not a single gunshot was heard, a testament to the terrifying ability of these men.
