Chapter 834 Play!
Chapter 834 Play!
He wanted to go home immediately and video call the Old Monster to discuss what to do next, he had to come up with some way to handle it, after all. He had thought about discussing it with Lin Feng, but Lin Feng didn’t seem to care at all, directly leaving with the two women. He would have to plan how to deal with the Li Family more thoroughly, at the very least to withstand them for a while, to allow Lin Feng to hurry back to the Nangong Family...
Nangong Mingyue, seeing Nangong He just walking away, could only silently follow behind and leave the place together. But their hearts were already a mess of different emotions.
Why on earth was the Ancestor doing this?
How could the Ancestor be so sure about Lin Feng?
The Ancestor... The Ancestor was too strange today!
Lin Feng was so young, how could he possibly help the Nangong Family through this crisis?
What on earth is going on here?
...
As several people followed behind, their minds were completely in disarray; they really couldn’t understand what the Ancestor’s purpose was in doing this. It seemed impossible for Lin Feng to help the Nangong Family through this difficulty, yet the Ancestor clearly showed such an attitude towards Lin Feng. This... this was simply unbelievable. What on earth was the Ancestor thinking...
No matter how much they racked their brains, they couldn’t figure it out, because everything they could think of was impossible. This made them feel extremely conflicted. Could it be that the Nangong Family was truly doomed this time, relying on someone as unreliable as Lin Feng for salvation? This... how could they accept this reality?
They were extremely worried now. Although they were infuriated by Lin Feng’s actions today, they knew that being angry was useless. They had to communicate with the Ancestor to see if they should prepare in advance, at least to disperse the true family members of the Nangong Family, which might preserve more of the family’s lineage...
...
After leaving the airport, Lin Feng, Shen Yao, and Chu Meng got into the luxury sports car brought by Ocean Number. At Chu Meng’s suggestion, the three of them drove straight to the seaside because Chu Meng said there was good seafood there and they could even catch lobsters by hand, an idea that immediately appealed to both Lin Feng and Shen Yao.
"Lin Feng, what’s the deal with the Nangong Clan? What are you doing here, can you tell us?" Shen Yao, unable to hold back her curiosity, asked Lin Feng who was driving in front. She was really worried about not asking; she hadn’t interrupted when Lin Feng was talking to those people before, but now with just the three of them, she felt she had to clear up the situation. Her mind was in such disarray, and she was really afraid that something dangerous would happen to Lin Feng.
In the tense atmosphere just now, she could sense that the Nangong Clan was certainly not an ordinary prominent family, let alone the existence of such an Ancestor, which wasn’t something a typical prominent family would have. If they needed to ask Lin Feng for help, this matter must not be trivial. She really wanted to know if there was any danger in what Lin Feng was going to do, and if it was indeed dangerous, she wanted to persuade him to give up.
"Yeah, Junior Brother, I also think you should tell us," Chu Meng agreed with Shen Yao’s concerns and also expressed her desire to know the reason for Lin Feng’s trip to Australia and whether there was any danger involved. Like Shen Yao, she didn’t want Lin Feng to be in any danger, because if he were in danger, how could he help her with her revenge? What would she do...
"Don’t worry, it’s like this..." Upon hearing Shen Yao and his Senior Sister asking, Lin Feng thought for a moment and while driving, he simply explained the situation. There was no need to conceal anything from Shen Yao and his Senior Sister; it was better to explain and prevent them from worrying unnecessarily.
However, Lin Feng still withheld some important details, such as how formidable the Ancestor of the Li Family was. He didn’t want Shen Yao and his Senior Sister to worry about him. In Lin Feng’s view, this matter was quite ordinary, but he knew that for ordinary people, it was something they wouldn’t be able to understand, so he deliberately glossed over the serious parts of the story. His intention was to reassure them.
Moreover, facing off against the Ancestor of the Li Family was somewhat dangerous for Lin Feng, but it certainly wasn’t life-threatening. That assurance was enough for him. Lin Feng was also looking forward to the battle with the Ancestor; his path was different from that of the ordinary cultivators, requiring continual comprehension through battles with the strong. How could he miss such an opportunity? Furthermore, a fight with the Ancestor of the Li Family was inevitable sooner or later; why not take this chance to resolve it? That was also his reason for deciding to come here.
"That’s the situation, so please don’t worry," Lin Feng said with a reassuring smile after explaining the whole thing. He even gave a confident look to Shen Yao and Chu Meng sitting in the back through the rearview mirror, convincing them to trust his words and to be at ease.
"Since it’s like that, then alright. But Lin Feng, you must be careful," Shen Yao said after listening to Lin Feng’s explanation. Seeing the confident look in Lin Feng’s eyes, she felt reassured. She had long known that Lin Feng was a top-level expert. Since he had said so, it meant the situation wasn’t dangerous for him. This settled Shen Yao’s mind, but still, she couldn’t help but remind him again. After all, it’s true that caution is the parent of safety.
"Junior Brother, when the time comes, we won’t follow you over. Just drop us off somewhere," Chu Meng said slowly after listening to Lin Feng’s words and thinking it over for a while. In her view, it wasn’t possible to change a decision made by her Junior Brother. Besides, his skills were so profound that they touched the heavens, and he would never deceive her. Since he said there was no danger, she couldn’t really object.
However, Chu Meng suddenly thought of something—Lin Feng was going into a fight, and it definitely wouldn’t be appropriate to take her and Shen Yao along. Although she wanted to see just how powerful her Junior Brother truly was, she still feared that they might become a liability to Lin Feng. If they caused Lin Feng to be distracted, it wouldn’t be good. She didn’t want such a thing to happen, so after some deliberation, Chu Meng spoke her thoughts.
"Yes, Senior Sister is right, watching a fight isn’t suitable for us. We will just wait for your return," Shen Yao immediately understood what Chu Meng meant and agreed with her right away. She didn’t want Lin Feng to be distracted by their presence either. It was best to just wait for Lin Feng’s return.
"That’s probably for the best. By the way, Senior Sister, how did you know the seaside in Hill has a lot of delicious food?" Lin Feng said, feeling more at ease with their decision, and smoothly changed the subject. There was no need to fret over the upcoming matter for a few more days. Right now, the most important thing was to have fun with Shen Yao and his Senior Sister. That was the paramount matter at hand.
"Did you forget? I used to have an island over here, so I’m quite familiar with the area."
"No wonder Senior Sister mentioned wanting to eat lobster. Is the lobster here that delicious?"
"Yes, the taste is really good, especially because it’s fresh. Moreover, if you catch it yourself, that’s even more interesting."
"Really? I’m looking forward to that, Senior Sister. How do you fish for lobster?"
"You’ll find out soon enough, Yaoyao. There are plenty of other delicious things too."
"Sister, what other delicious things are there?"
"There’s this one fish over here that looks pretty weird, but it’s incredibly tasty when grilled. I eat it every time I come here."
"Really, Sister? Then I definitely need to give it a try. By the way, Lin Feng cooks delicious food. If we let Lin Feng handle the lobster and fish for us, wouldn’t that be even better?"
"Yeah, let our junior brother cook for us, and we’ll just be in charge of eating, hehe."
"No problem..."
...
Once the conversation picked up, Shen Yao and Chu Meng were no longer as tense. After Lin Feng had successfully changed the topic, the two women started talking about lunch. The more they talked, the happier they became since that place was already known for its great food and fun activities. Eventually, they involved Lin Feng as well, asking him to cook for them. How could Lin Feng possibly decline? Seeing the two women so joyous made him feel great too, and before he knew it, time had slipped by.
When the three of them arrived at the place Chu Meng had mentioned, they too were captivated by the scene. There were a lot of people around, mostly tourists in groups out enjoying themselves. It was evident that business was booming. Not far from the beach, there was a large pot boiling with lobsters, sending wafts of delicious aroma into the air, which immediately delighted Shen Yao. She grabbed Lin Feng and Chu Meng and headed over.
"I wasn’t wrong, was I?"
"It really is great. Lin Feng, I want to eat lobster; let’s go fishing for them together."
"Okay."
...
The three of them chatted as they walked, and upon their arrival, they learned what fishing for lobsters entailed. After a quick lesson from the people nearby, they started to try their hand at lobster fishing. Initially, Shen Yao and Chu Meng were full of excitement but ended up disappointed, failing to catch any. Lin Feng wouldn’t stand for anything that could dampen the mood, so he stepped in to patiently teach Shen Yao and Chu Meng the proper technique for catching lobsters, something he had learned quite simply during his four years on the island.
Soon, each of them had caught a lobster, much to the delight of Shen Yao and Chu Meng. Lin Feng acquired a boiling pot and a barbecue stove from a nearby vendor, bought some fresh seafood from another shop, and began preparing a seafood feast for Shen Yao and his sister. It didn’t take him long to prepare an array of items and call over to Shen Yao and his sister, who were wandering barefoot along the sandy beach.
"Wow! That smells so good!"
"It tastes even better than the ones from the restaurants around here."
"Of course, those people can’t compare to Lin Feng."
"That’s true; junior brother’s cooking is always delicious."
"It’s nothing, I used to make this sort of thing all the time."
"What do you mean?"
"During those four years on the island, seafood was what I ate the most."
"No wonder you make such delicious seafood."
"What’s the island like? Tell us about it."
...
As the three conversed while eating, time flew by quickly. Listening to Lin Feng talk about his life on the island, Shen Yao and Chu Meng were amazed. However, the more intriguing details they heard, the more smiles appeared on their faces. They thought Lin Feng must have endured many hardships during those four years to have learned so much. Being with Lin Feng now, they truly hoped he could also feel happier; their faces reflected their blissful smiles.
The three became increasingly joyful as they talked. After having their fill, they decided to leave after a brief discussion and drove toward the opera house not far away. The reason was simple: how could one come to Hill City, Australia, and not go to see an opera? Moreover, since Lin Feng and Shen Yao had never been, it was quite reasonable for them to be interested in paying it a visit...
...
The afternoon passed in a fulfilling way, and Shen Yao and Chu Meng were still not completely satisfied with their outing. It had been a long time since Chu Meng had been out, and Shen Yao wasn’t much different. She was usually very busy with her studies, and it was nearly impossible for her to go on trips under normal circumstances. Shen Yao was thus ecstatic to finally see the sights she had only seen on television, filling her heart with immense joy.
