Chapter 363 Do Whatever You Want
Chapter 363 Do Whatever You Want
Lin Feng made a point to visit Leng Mei’s office when he came to work in the morning, wanting to see if she was still feeling unwell, but Leng Mei wasn’t there. Lin Feng could only leave and come back in the evening after work. He checked her office again, only to find Leng Mei still absent. Only after asking around did he learn that Leng Mei hadn’t been in the entire day. While it was rare for her to be absent, Lin Feng didn’t think much of it. Considering how much she had drunk the night before, it was normal for her to feel unwell and rest at home during the day. There was no need for excessive concern.
With this in mind, Lin Feng drove Ding Wan’er home before heading straight to his mentor’s place. His mentor needed his care, and when there was nothing else to do, he could chat with her and discuss future plans.
The next morning, Lin Feng picked Ding Wan’er up for work as usual, but he felt that something was off with her. How did she become so different overnight?
"Did something happen last night?" Lin Feng asked casually, noticing that Ding Wan’er was in no state to work, her mind seemingly elsewhere.
"Sister Leng came to my place last night and stayed until midnight. She wouldn’t say anything about what was bothering her; she just sat there, and I was worried about her," Ding Wan’er explained hastily when Lin Feng asked, with Leng Mei’s issue weighing heavily on her mind—even after Leng Mei left, she had trouble sleeping. Not only was she preoccupied with Leng Mei’s problems but Lin Feng’s name also floated in her head, leaving her with barely any sleep all night.
"Leng Mei didn’t show up for work yesterday either, and you look exceptionally pale today," Lin Feng said, piecing together the state Leng Mei must be in. She must have felt too sick from the alcohol to work yesterday, so she rested at home and later went to Ding Wan’er’s place for a bit. All of this seemed normal, though Lin Feng now found it strange that Ding Wan’er appeared so worn out herself.
"It’s nothing, I just didn’t get much rest last night. I’ll take a short rest in the office and I’ll be fine," Ding Wan’er certainly acknowledged her poor complexion, which couldn’t be good after virtually no sleep the night before. Now with no other option, she planned to have a short rest in the office later. But inside, she felt a small sense of being moved. Lin Feng cared, after all. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have noticed how bad she looked right away, and that made her wonder...
"Then that’s good," Lin Feng replied, hearing Ding Wan’er’s explanation. He was glad she was okay and refocused on their commute.
...
Huang Shi spent a whole day completing the enrollment procedures at Yingbo University’s French Department. He was unbearably excited at the prospect of attending Lin Feng’s classes, and by 7 a.m., he was waiting at the entrance of the teaching building, eager to share the good news with Lin Feng.
However, Lin Feng didn’t show up; instead, Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu arrived. From the distance, seeing them approach, Huang Shi figured that since he had resolved to follow the Boss, greeting his women was the proper thing to do. With that thought, he approached the two beauties.
"Good day to you, Sister Rongrong, good day. I’m sorry for the fright you both suffered during the car race. There were too many people last time for me to apologize properly, so I’m doing it now," Huang Shi said as he walked up to the campus belles, realizing he didn’t know how to address them. Using the term ’madam’ felt like he was aging them too much, but if he referred to Lin Feng as Boss, calling them Sister Rongrong seemed appropriate. Yet, just as he was about to speak, he struggled to find a topic. In a pinch, he mentioned the car racing incident to avoid any awkward silence.
"Huang Shi, what brings you here?" Ye Xiaoyu was slightly embarrassed but mostly thrilled to be called Sister Rongrong. What surprised her, though, was seeing Huang Shi at the university. Why would the Crown Prince of Huang Group come to school? What was going on?
"I completed my enrollment here yesterday and plan to attend Boss’s classes. Earning degrees isn’t new to me, so getting another degree at Yingbo University was an easy decision," Huang Shi explained upon hearing Ye Xiaoyu’s remarks. Given that he was the Crown Prince of Huang Group, it was surprising for him to attend university. His explanation was quick, clearing up any confusion.
"Oh, I see... Ah! Sister Rongrong, why are you pinching me?" Ye Xiaoyu understood why Huang Shi was at the university and wasn’t surprised anymore. After all, he could afford a meal costing millions, so enrolling at Yingbo University shouldn’t be a problem. Her heart swelled with delight hearing him call her Sister Rongrong repeatedly, appreciating the new disciple’s flair for sweet talk. However, her happiness was pierced by a sharp pinch from Mao Rongrong, prompting her to turn towards her, wondering what Sister Rongrong was up to.
"We should hurry to our classroom; it’s getting late," Mao Rongrong spoke with mixed feelings. On one hand, she was secretly delighted to be called Sister Rongrong by Huang Shi, but on the other hand, she was extremely embarrassed. With her relationship with Lin Feng not yet clarified, the title Sister Rongrong left her uneasy. With this in mind, she pinched the elated Ye Xiaoyu as a signal to quickly enter the classroom. Standing before Huang Shi as he kept saying Sister Rongrong made her heart race uncomfortably.
"Oh, okay then, Huang Shi, we’ll head to the classroom first." When Ye Xiaoyu heard Mao Rongrong say that, she could only follow Mao Rongrong back to the classroom, glancing at Huang Shi and bidding him farewell. Knowing that he must be waiting for Teacher Lin, she decided not to delay Huang Shi from waiting for Teacher Lin any longer. It’d be better to head back to the classroom with Sister Rongrong. With that thought, she and Mao Rongrong linked arms and walked towards the teaching building.
"Take care, sisters-in-law." Huang Shi let out a sigh of relief when he saw the two beauties of the school leave, then looked into the distance, hoping to catch sight of the Boss sooner.
Lin Feng dropped Ding Wan’er off at the office building, parked his car, and headed towards the School of Linguistics. When he was close to the school, he could see Huang Shi standing there from afar, which made Lin Feng feel very strange. What on earth was Huang Shi doing here?
"Boss, good morning! You’ve finally arrived, I’ve been waiting for you all morning!" Huang Shi had been waiting at the entrance of the teaching building for Lin Feng, and as soon as he saw Lin Feng appear, he hurried over to greet him enthusiastically. Having completed the enrollment procedures yesterday, he was ecstatic to finally see his Boss. Who wouldn’t be happy?
"Why did you come here? Is there something you need?" Lin Feng asked directly upon seeing Huang Shi. What was someone of his wealthy background doing at a school, where there was nothing fun?
"To follow in the Boss’s footsteps, I enrolled here yesterday. Starting today, I’m your student, Boss. Look, here’s my student ID for the French Department." Knowing that Lin Feng was doubtful, Huang Shi quickly pulled out the freshly acquired student ID from his pocket to prove his words were true. He wanted to be around the Boss at all times, convinced that sooner or later, he would learn Boss’s unparalleled racing skills.
"You leave your comfortable life behind to mess around in school, just to follow me?" Lin Feng couldn’t help but feel speechless when Huang Shi handed over the student ID. Although he had agreed to let him follow, he didn’t expect him to come to school. Would someone like Huang Shi really study here?
"Boss, I came here to study. I’m still enrolled in another university. Strictly speaking, I am an outstanding university student." Hearing what Lin Feng said, Huang Shi hurriedly explained, fearing that the Boss might send him away.
"Well... never mind, you can do as you please." Lin Feng said helplessly upon hearing Huang Shi’s explanation. There was no way he could just send him away when he was here to learn. If that was the case, he might as well let him be.
"Thank you, Boss. Don’t worry, I won’t cause you any trouble. Just give me your orders, and I’ll make sure the job is done perfectly," Huang Shi happily said when he realized that the Boss wasn’t going to send him away.
"Right, now that you mention it, I wouldn’t have remembered—after class, go fix my car. I scratched it the night before last. Here are the car keys." Lin Feng finished talking and tossed the car keys to Huang Shi. Having scratched his car the night before last and not having had time to get it fixed yesterday, today was a good day to have Huang Shi take care of it.
"Boss, you... you managed to scratch your car?" Huang Shi was surprised to hear that Lin Feng had scratched his car. The night before last, the Boss wasn’t drunk; the car was driven so smoothly, it seemed impossible to have been scratched. After all, the Boss himself was a racing god; he wouldn’t scratch the car even if he drove with his eyes closed. What on earth had happened? It was truly strange!
"Stop the nonsense. Send the car in and come back quickly. This afternoon, we’re going out to a banquet." Lin Feng suddenly remembered the man who looked a bit like a farmer who had approached him two days ago. Today was the agreed time to see what they really wanted. After saying that, he turned around and headed towards the School of Linguistics’ teaching building. He still had to prepare for class that morning.
"Right away, Boss. Consider it done." Huang Shi immediately agreed upon hearing Lin Feng’s instructions. Of course, if the Boss assigned him a task, he would do his utmost to accomplish it. Fixing the car was a simple task, so he immediately agreed. However, Lin Feng’s mention of attending a banquet struck Huang Shi as odd. The term banquet felt strange to him, leaving him curious about what kind of feast it might be. He decided not to think too much about it, certain he’d find out in due time.
But the Boss had finally acknowledged him, and for Huang Shi, that was truly a delightful matter. Not being sent away meant that he had won Lin Feng’s recognition; following Lin Feng closely would surely lead to being taught the racing skills, so with that in mind, Huang Shi quickly picked up his pace, following closely behind Lin Feng.
