Chapter 1266 - 1264: Come Out
Chapter 1266 - 1264: Come Out
"What does this mean?" Chu Meng was baffled by Lin Feng’s sudden statement. She couldn’t understand what Lin Feng meant by isolating life signals. How... How was that even possible? There was clearly no one here, so why did Lin Feng claim Jack was here?
Lin Feng saw Chu Meng’s puzzled expression, smiled, and shook his head. He wanted to directly drag Jack out to see exactly how Jack managed to block his Divine Sense. He had never encountered anything like this before—it was actually quite interesting.
After making that comment, Lin Feng led Chu Meng on another loop through the area. When they got close to the rundown three-story building, a voice suddenly emerged from below, startling Chu Meng.
"Miss Chu, Mr. Lin, please don’t go. I’ve been here all along, just lost in thought for a moment. I’m really sorry." This sudden voice coming from the ground gave Chu Meng quite a shock, but Lin Feng remained unfazed. He extended his hand, picked up a remote-controlled speaker from the ground, and gave it a once-over. Lin Feng shook his head, thinking to himself how cautious Jack was—it was no wonder the Locke Family hadn’t managed to capture him yet.
"Come out now. Didn’t you want to talk to me?" When Chu Meng saw the speaker in Lin Feng’s hand, she was speechless. Having a conversation in the middle of the night with a speaker felt absurd, so she began speaking directly, signaling Jack to hurry up and show himself if they were going to have a discussion face-to-face.
"I can’t show up just yet. I escaped from the Locke Family’s laboratory, but it seems they planted a special tracker on me. If I show myself, they’ll soon pinpoint my location." Jack’s voice trembled with panic—it was clear he was still horrified by his earlier experience and didn’t dare to show himself for fear of being recaptured by the Locke Family.
"If you don’t show yourself, how are we supposed to talk? If you keep hiding, I’m leaving!" Chu Meng was entirely exasperated after hearing Jack’s response. They had come all this way to rescue him, and yet he refused to show himself. How could they save him under these circumstances?
However, after a moment of thought, she added cautiously, sensing from Jack’s words that something serious must have happened to scare him into being so overly cautious.
"Miss Chu, do you know that before contacting you, I reached out to five other people? None of them appeared at the agreed-upon location. Instead, people from the Locke Family showed up instead. That truly broke my spirit. Being cautious is not wrong, I hope you won’t misunderstand." Jack’s voice was full of apology. At this point, Jack had mostly come to trust Chu Meng—it was just that he felt compelled to conduct this final confirmation. Forced into this desperate situation, Chu Meng was the only one left who could help him stand against the Locke Family. For the discussion to continue, Jack couldn’t afford to show himself, lest he lead the Locke Family straight to them.
But as soon as Jack finished speaking, Lin Feng smirked and said, "You’re overthinking things. You think hiding inside a metal canister makes you undetectable?"
After he spoke, Lin Feng’s gaze turned sharply to the rooftop of the abandoned three-story building. He beckoned with a slight wave of his hand—clearly signaling Jack that he had figured out where Jack was hiding, and it was time for him to come down!
Jack had been about to say something, suspecting Lin Feng was bluffing. But when he saw Lin Feng directly gesture toward him, fear immediately gripped him. How could Lin Feng have located him? After all, Jack’s mech was special—custom-built for escape. It not only blocked life signals but also employed optical camouflage. As long as he remained still, no one should have been able to detect him!
And yet Lin Feng had pinpointed him. This sudden exposure sent panic coursing through Jack’s mind. He was terrified that Chu Meng might be just like the Locke Family and capture him. Without hesitation, Jack activated his mech, planning to retreat before things spiraled further out of control...
In an instant, a two-meter-tall humanoid mech appeared on the rooftop of the abandoned building. Suddenly, two jets of flame erupted from the mech’s back, propelling it skyward. This sight left Chu Meng standing frozen in place, realizing for the first time that Jack had been hiding up there all along. But when she saw him attempting to flee, she became anxious—if Jack escaped now, finding him again later would be nearly impossible!
As Jack tried to flee, Lin Feng chuckled to himself, amused by Jack’s lack of courage. But tonight, Jack wouldn’t escape—not on his watch. Jack was only safe if he stayed with Lin Feng. With that thought, Lin Feng’s figure blurred out of sight. In the next instant, he reappeared beside the flying mech, effortlessly striking its two jet engines with his hand, smashing them apart. A burst of fire ignited in the sky!
The now-powerless mech plummeted to the ground, crashing hard onto the concrete runway.
"Boom!"
The ground trembled from the thunderous impact, revealing how heavy the mech was. Inside the mech, Jack was disoriented from the fall. While the mech’s internal shock absorption system helped, even the best systems couldn’t completely mitigate such a collision!
By now, Lin Feng had stepped in front of the mech. Staring directly at it, he commanded, "Come out."
Hearing Lin Feng’s voice so close, Jack’s brain suddenly snapped into focus. He maneuvered the mech to stand upright and said to Lin Feng, "What do you want? Don’t block me—I don’t want to hurt you! This mech has immense power, far beyond what humans can handle!"
Jack’s tone was nearly a roar. He was genuinely desperate—the activation of the mech had exposed his location. If he didn’t leave soon, the Locke Group would track him down, and then things would really turn for the worse!
"Relax. I’m only asking you to come out and talk." Lin Feng dismissed Jack’s threat without a second thought. While the mech might have been formidable to ordinary people, it posed no challenge for him.
"Then don’t blame me!" Jack, even more anxious now, warned Lin Feng before launching a punch straight at him with the mech. The sheer speed of the attack was staggering—it was the product of true mechanical power, far surpassing human limits. In the blink of an eye, Jack’s punch was like a beam of light aimed at Lin Feng!
Truthfully, Jack didn’t want to hurt Lin Feng. But Lin Feng had already disabled his flight engines, meaning if Jack wanted to escape, he had to incapacitate Lin Feng first. Jack knew that if Lin Feng could destroy his flight engines, he was also capable of wrecking his mobility systems. This punch was a last resort.
In Jack’s mind, Lin Feng was just an ordinary human—there was no way anyone could resist the force of the mech’s punch. He was convinced this blow would seriously injure Lin Feng. But the reality that unfolded was beyond his wildest imagination...
"Bang!"
A dull sound rang out as Lin Feng effortlessly caught the mech’s iron fist with one hand, without so much as flinching. It was as if he were stopping a child’s weak punch. The sight left Jack utterly stunned—his eyes widened in disbelief.
This was a mech—a construct of raw power far beyond what humans could withstand. Yet this man had casually stopped its attack with one hand. It was incomprehensible. Jack couldn’t fathom how Lin Feng had managed to pull it off!
While Jack remained frozen in shock, Lin Feng acted again. With a wave of his arm, he flung the mech’s mechanical arm aside. Then, reaching forward decisively, his hand pressed onto the mech’s front armor. With just a slight exertion of force, Lin Feng tore off the neatly-fitted armor plate, exposing the profoundly shaken Jack inside!
At this moment, Jack’s expression was a spectacle unto itself. His eyes bulged as if ready to pop out of his skull. His mouth hung open wide enough to swallow an egg whole, and his facial muscles twitched uncontrollably. He stared at Lin Feng as though he were looking at some kind of demon.
Was this... still a human?
Staring at Lin Feng, Jack was completely overwhelmed. He could never have imagined Lin Feng would be so powerful. This kind of strength was beyond terrifying—utterly indescribable. This was a mech, a true machine, and yet Lin Feng’s human strength had overpowered it. Who was this man? Could it be that the Earth truly harbored superheroes? Otherwise, how could something like this happen!
Lin Feng was oblivious to how Jack had begun lumping him in the same category as superheroes in his mind. In fact, Jack had convinced himself Lin Feng wasn’t even human anymore—certainly not someone from Earth! No human could possibly possess such strength. It was beyond the limits of human capability. Other than that, there was no way to explain the source of Lin Feng’s power!
Seeing Jack’s stunned expression, Lin Feng naturally understood what was going through Jack’s mind. But Lin Feng didn’t want to waste any more time. Calmly, he said to Jack, "Why are you still frozen like that? Come out already. If you’ve got something to say, say it. Stop thinking about running—we mean you no harm."
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s words, Jack finally snapped out of his daze. His nerves settled somewhat. He could sense that Lin Feng and Chu Meng harbored no ill intentions toward him. Otherwise, things wouldn’t have escalated to just words—they would have attacked outright.
Realizing this, Jack gave up his resistance entirely. He activated the mech’s controls and stepped out into the open. Jack wasn’t particularly tall—only about 1.7 meters—and he was alarmingly thin, barely weighing around 50 kilograms. To put it visually, he resembled a nimble little monkey! But no one would dare trivialize him—after all, he was the genius who had developed the RT Energy Box. Such brilliance was beyond what ordinary minds could conceive!
Having exited the mech, Jack glanced at Lin Feng and then at Chu Meng, sighing helplessly. It wasn’t long before the Locke Family’s trackers would inevitably come chasing after him. For now, Jack had no choice but to entrust his fate to Chu Meng and Lin Feng. Only they stood a chance against the Locke Group; ordinary people didn’t have a prayer.
