Chapter 49: Finalising the Plan
Chapter 49: Finalising the Plan
They spent the next few hours talking about working together to handle the problems Daisaku was facing.
According to Daisaku, they could not really deal with the XR Gang directly because of the Level 3 leading them.
But they could deal enough damage to keep the gang busy for a good while and that would alleviate the pressure they would otherwise be able to place on his granddaughter through his son, Daihachi.
Of course, their best bet was to kill Daihachi but that would be impossible now that he could be hiding anywhere.
In exchange for the help Jensen would provide, he would keep fifty percent of whatever they managed to gain... of course under certain limitations and requirement which he did not really mind, while the Uesugi would keep what was left.
Once they finished creating the plan, they reached the final detail.
"So, when will you be ready to carry this out?" Jensen asked.
"I should be prepared in a week at most."
Jensen nodded thoughtfully. "Then I will plan around a week. I will leave the town tomorrow for a few days, but I will make sure to be back in three days at most."
"Will that affect our plan?"
"No, it will not," Jensen replied. "It is not difficult just time sensitive. At most, I will be gone for five days, but nothing beyond that."
Daisaku nodded in agreement and he did not ask for more information.
Jensen did not seem ready to share, and Daisaku did not wish to push.
Jensen finished what was left of his tea. He placed his cup down and stood up.
"Thank you very much for your hospitality." He performed a small bow to Daisaku.
Daisaku stood and bowed in return. "No. It is I who is very much thankful for your help." He paused. "And I am very sorry for not being able to accompany you to the gates."
Jensen waved a hand. "No worries. We both have too much to do anyway."
He put on his shoes and made his way out of the courtyard where he found Kairi was waiting just outside, standing at a respectful distance from the door.
Her hands were folded in front of her, and her eyes half covered also as if she was dosing off showing she had been waiting the entire time.
Jensen nodded at her. "Miss Kairi... I will be leaving now."
"Please come with me." Kairi bowed and walked forward, leading him to the hover cart.
They took the same path back to the gates and once they reached the gate, Jensen turned to Kairi and gave her a small bow. "Thank you for your hospitality, Miss Kairi."
Kairi bowed as well. "Thank you for your presence, Young Master Jensen."
Jensen nodded, then he turned around and walked through the gate. The guards bowed as he passed to which he nodded without looking back.

Daisaku stared at the image of Jensen projected in front of him, the recording was obvious being taken from a hidden camera near the gate live.
He spoke to what seemed like empty air. "What do you think?"
A man materialized from the upper branches of the cedar tree where he had been hidden there the whole time, blending into the leaves and becoming almost like a part of the tree.
Now he dropped down from the top, falling in complete silence as he landed lightly on his feet beside Daisaku, almost like he was weightless.
He was dressed in a green ninja getup with the fabric been the same colour as the leaves of the cedar tree he was hiding on.
His face was half covered with only his eyes were visible.
Taro Fuma.
Daisaku had known him for years and he was the clan’s best shinobi his clan had holding the position of Jonin amongst the clan’s shinobi.
"He is indeed far stronger than he shows," Taro said.
"Hmm... Why are you so certain?"
Taro paused as he chose his words carefully. "I am very sure he stared directly at me even though I remained formless." He finally said after choosing his words.
Daisaku frowned. "I did not see him look up at you."
Taro shook his head. "When he raised his cup and lifted his head to take a sip, he was looking directly at me." He paused. "I think he winked."
A wide smile spread across Daisaku’s face. "I see... it seems like I was right."
He let the smile linger for a moment. Then he asked a question he already knew the answer to.
"Should we send someone to tail him and find out what he is doing outside the town at such an important moment?"
Taro shook his head again. "Even if I went, I would most likely be found out or I would lose him... especially if he is trying to be careful."
Daisaku nodded in agreement, he trusted Taro’s judgment in this regard.
"What about his mother? The one you sent the genins to tail."
Taro’s eyes narrowed. "She is trying to recruit people but not actively. She is mostly just gathering their information."
"Did you find out everything about her? Everywhere she was going?"
Taro paused for a moment, then he shook his head.
"The genins I sent after her were almost made multiple times and according to what we have observed, she seems prone to snapping immediately when she feels threatened."
"They had to pull back and maintain enough distance after one of them was almost caught and eventually, they had to back off completely when it seemed like she was about to snap."
"They followed their orders to not antagonize her especially since we plan on working with him."
"So, what did you learn?"
"We are now certain that she is awakened but she has awakened a path that enhances her senses."
Daisaku’s frown returned. "I thought she was not awakened."
Taro shrugged. "I am not sure either... since they decided against going close enough to scan her, but... I truly believe she is awakened. My shinobis are very skilled in their assessments."
"So, either she was hiding her path, or she just awakened recently," Daisaku said.
Taro nodded.
"Any other thing?"
"The last thing we heard about her was that she went to the gangs’ territory in the slums with another lady where she almost killed one of the gang members. Then she left with a group of people made up of two men and two girls."
Taro paused.
"The men had been ordered to back off, so we do not know much about these people." He looked at Daisaku. "Should we try to find out more about them?"
Daisaku considered for a moment. "Any information from the people in the slum?"
"Barely anything... but according to what we have, they had not been in the slum for very long and even then, they mostly kept to themselves."
Daisaku waved his hand. "Leave them for now and have the shinobis focus on finding my son." He looked at Taro. "How was your own search?"
Taro’s eyes dropped. "Still nothing, my lord."
Daisaku let out a long breath. He had expected that answer, but it still stung.
He waved Taro away. "Go and get your rest. The next few days will be very hectic."
Taro bowed and turned to leave.
Daisaku stared at his back as he walked away before closing his eyes without showing what he was thinking.
