Chapter 62: You Really Deserve to Die!
“What? You’re saying that person just now was a guy, and your roommate?”
By the school’s artificial lake, the two of them found a shady spot to sit. After all, in this scorching heat, going out shopping was truly unbearable, and he couldn’t exactly bring her back to the dorm.
“Of course. If you don’t believe me, I can call him over. He’s doing self-media now, taking the crossdressing route, and he’s gotten quite popular lately, with around seven or eight hundred thousand followers.”
As Lin Mo spoke, he pulled up Li Shiya’s account on his phone and showed it to Yuan Meng.
After confirming that the other person really was a man, Miss Yuan couldn’t help but gape:
“No... no way, why though? He looks even more like a woman than I do. I refuse to accept this!”
Hearing this, Lin Mo sighed helplessly: “Sister Yuan, just the fact that you’re calling yourself ‘laoniang’ already makes you lose against him. That guy hardly ever speaks when he’s outside.”
“Laoniang! Laoniang!! Laoniang!!!” Yuan Meng suddenly pulled out a big radish knife from somewhere under her dress and shouted, leaving him stunned into silence.
No wonder Sichuan Girl’s livestream room had so many men. As expected, only men truly understood men.
Seeing he wasn’t speaking, Yuan Meng continued: “But seriously though, you guys live in the same dorm. With him looking like that, how can you even sleep?”
“Don’t slander people! Pure man, do you even know what pure means?” Lin Mo quickly defended.
Miss Yuan, however, dismissed him with disdain: “Until men truly meet someone they actually like, they all think they like women.”
Lin Mo: ...
Damn it, what she said actually did have some truth to it. After all, some people really were like that.
“Anyway, I’m not.”
“If you’re not, then why did he run away the moment he saw me? I thought she was about to mistake me for the mistress and beat me up.” Yuan Meng patted her nonexistent chest and laughed.
Lin Mo thought for a moment, then said uncertainly: “Maybe... he thought you were some sugar mommy I met outside?”
“Sugar mommy? But I am one. Wait—why would they think that? You—” Yuan Meng hadn’t even finished speaking when she caught sight of the watch on his wrist. She immediately grabbed his hand to inspect it and exclaimed:
“Whoa, Patek Philippe? Alright, Xiao Black Dog, fess up—which sugar mommy gave you this one?”
“Liu Rushuang, of course. She said it was a thank-you gift in return for my secret recipe.” Lin Mo quickly pulled his hand back and answered truthfully.
There was no need to hide something like this, especially since Miss Yuan already knew what had happened.
“I knew it was her. Still, that woman is pretty generous. Makes me look stingy in comparison. Tell me, is there anything you want? I’ll buy it for you. I’m not the kind of person who takes advantage.” Yuan Meng sighed first, then immediately offered compensation.
Truth be told, she hadn’t thought much about it back then. She only tried it because she noticed Lin Mo’s skin kept improving, and she hadn’t expected it to work so well.
Her mother now, aside from the wrinkles on her face that hadn’t gone away, no longer had problems like dullness, enlarged pores, or excess oil. Her skin had improved tremendously, making her look at least ten years younger.
Her father had been so delighted lately it was like he’d married a new bride. He even started coming home earlier, and didn’t mind her mother’s nagging anymore. With his daughter out of the house, life was only getting sweeter.
“No need. I really don’t want anything. I still haven’t figured out how to spend the money you gave me last time.” Lin Mo waved his hand with a smile.
He truly didn’t want anything. Living at school, his expenses were minimal. With more than 200,000 still sitting in his account, there was no way he could spend it all.
“I’m being serious. No joking. Or at least tell me how much this watch costs—I’ll transfer it to you.” Yuan Meng pressed again.
It wasn’t like she couldn’t afford it. Especially since she knew that Liu Rushuang, whom she had always disliked, had been this generous. How could she allow herself to lose out?
“I’m not joking either. I really don’t need it, Sister Yuan. What’s with us being so formal? Do we need to treat each other like outsiders?”
Lin Mo quickly held down Miss Yuan’s eager hand trying to transfer money, wearing a bitter smile. To anyone watching, it would look like they were involved in some shady deal.
“That’s true. Our relationship is definitely stronger than with that Liu woman.” Hearing this, Yuan Meng’s smile brightened, and she looked very satisfied with his response.
Afterward, Lin Mo took Miss Yuan for a quick stroll around. When lunchtime came, she suggested trying out the school cafeteria.
Lin Mo had no objections and took her straight to the second floor of the cafeteria, where they served stir-fried dishes at slightly higher prices than downstairs.
“I’ll say this, Mo boy, your school’s environment is pretty nice, and the cafeteria isn’t bad either. But the quality of the handsome guys is average.” Miss Yuan commented as she picked up a piece of sauerkraut pork belly.
Lin Mo: →_→
“Hey, I’m right here. Show me some respect!”
“What are you staring at? You’re the same!” Yuan Meng glared at him.
Lin Mo: ...
“Alright then, what exactly does your so-called handsome guy look like? None of the ones here are to your liking?”
That was right. Yuan Meng had come today partly to see him, partly because she knew his school had more men than women—so she came to check out the handsome guys—and partly because she was bored stiff at home and needed to get out.
“At the very least, he has to be over 1.8 meters, with a clean and handsome face, and eight-pack abs!” Yuan Meng declared righteously.
Lin · 179.2 · Mo could only sigh. The very first condition already disqualified him.
“Hold on. You’re asking for eight-pack abs, yet you ordered four meat dishes? Aren’t you afraid of gaining weight?” Lin Mo pointed at the table full of dishes.
At this, Yuan Meng curled her lips: “Haven’t you watched Animal World? Cows, sheep, elephants—they all eat grass. Do any of them look thin to you? On the other hand, leopards, wolves, lions—they all eat meat, and their bodies are lean and fit. So, if you want to slim down, you have to eat meat. Got it, skinny dog?”
Lin Mo clapped. He had to admit, it actually made sense.
The two ate and chatted. Yuan Meng talked about her recent camping trips, while Lin Mo shared his plans after returning to school.
“So boring. With you gone from the company, and only Zhang Wei left, it’s not fun at all.” After the meal, Miss Yuan grumbled unhappily.
Thinking about how her work buddy, gaming buddy, and eating buddy was gone, she felt completely out of sorts.
“It’s just that I’m busy right now, having just returned to school. Things will settle down in a few days. Besides, we’re not that far apart. I’ll come to the city to hang out with you when I have time.” Lin Mo comforted her.
He didn’t feel too emotional about it. Maybe because he had friends at school as well. But for Miss Yuan, it was different. Although she had friends, they couldn’t be with her every day. With him gone, she started feeling lonely.
“Fine then. You’d better come find me when you’re free.”
“Deal!”
After strolling around the school and having lunch, Miss Yuan didn’t find any handsome guy to her liking and felt a little disappointed.
At 1 p.m., at the school gate, Miss Yuan suddenly asked:
“By the way, I remember you have a driver’s license, right?”
“Yeah, why?”
Just as he finished speaking, something was tossed at him. Lin Mo caught it and saw that it was a car key.
“What’s this?”
“You still don’t have a car. Take it and drive. Do you really think your Sister Yuan is stingy enough to mind such a small thing?” Yuan Meng chuckled.
Lin Mo quickly refused: “Didn’t we agree? Liu Rushuang is Liu Rushuang, you are you. What’s our relationship, huh?”
Saying that, he tried to shove the keys back.
Yuan Meng pushed him away in annoyance, her expression displeased: “Stop whining. It’s not like I’m giving it to you. I’m just letting you drive it, so it’ll be more convenient when you come to the city to see me. Besides, I’m kind of tired of driving this car already. Not that interesting. Gas cars are way more fun. I’m leaving now!”
Without giving him time to react, she hailed a taxi and left, looking extremely carefree.
Holding the keys in his hand, Lin Mo stood dazed. She’d had the car for less than two months and was already tired of it?
He sighed and turned to head back to the dorms—only to be met with two distorted faces glaring at him in unison:
“You really deserve to die!” ×2
