"Boss, there’s been progress." The call was from Wang Hai. After what happened in H City, Leng Yichen had immediately tasked Wang Hai with closely investigating the matter, as he suspected it might be related to the failed transaction with Nawa.
He never instigates trouble, in his view he’s just a law-abiding businessman, not evading taxes, dealing in legitimate business transactions. However, when it comes to money, things seldom remain pure. After all, money and power have always been intertwined. Leng Yichen merely utilizes his money to achieve power, and this is not illegal.

While listening to Wang Hai’s report, Leng Yichen pushed his bowl of soup towards Bai Yiran.
Bai Yiran smiled, mouthed a ’thank you’ to him, and continued drinking.
Leng Yichen smiled as he watched Bai Yiran.
On the phone, Wang Hai’s report continued, "In truth, there’s nothing particularly unique about Chen Zhu. The odd part is his cousin is Chen Bei, whose boss is Wu Chengzu!"
Wang Hai emphasized the name Wu Chengzu, aware of how complex things were becoming.
