Chapter 252: One against all?
Chapter 252: One against all?
Outside the wall, Hazel’s battle with Yamada had reached its peak.
The two had their weapons coated in flames, throwing out attacks that could kill in a single strike.
The others who were still fighting tactically avoided the two, wondering how much of a monster both of them could be.
"Seriously... these guys..."
Kiera muttered as she tore through Tamara’s shadow bindings with her clawed gauntlets, jumping straight at the girl.
The black-haired girl immediately created more shadows between them, repelling Kiera once again.
The others were fighting too, but just like Tamara’s fight, it was just a friendly skirmish with some determination.
It was nothing compared to the catastrophic battle between Hazel and Yamada.
"Haap!"
Roaring, Yamada swung his hammer from above.
Boom!
Hazel retreated from the impact zone, avoiding being crushed to death. Her body was glowing gold, and she was filled with great stamina and more strength.
Yamada looked at her and grinned. "You’re really a monster, aren’t you? The longer this fight drags, the stronger you become. I’m impressed."
He raised his hammer again, letting it rest on his shoulder.
"However, let me tell you this! I already have a True Identity! And it is called—War God!"
Hazel was shocked, but didn’t have enough time to react to his words.
Yamada lunged at her, his grin wide and feral as he swung his hammer like a madman.
Hazel raised her battle-axe and met his attack head-on.
Clang—boom!
The ground beneath them cracked and exploded. The recoil of their attacks was so great it forced them apart.
Hazel regained her footing and immediately grabbed her weapon again.
Her brown eyes were already turning dull gold.
Yamada saw all this, but grew even more infatuated.
"Yes! Yes! Grow stronger! Let me push you to your limit!"
By now, the others had stopped fighting and merely watched the two.
"Are you... sure they’re okay?"
Kiera asked Tamara who was standing beside her.
The black-haired girl had a frown on her face as she shook her head.
"I don’t know."
"Perhaps we should stop them." Logan said as he walked over. His body was riddled with injuries, but he was still thrumming with energy.
He looked like he couldn’t wait to dive into the battle and make it a three-way battle.
’Typical lycanthrope.’ Kiera snorted inwardly, "Get back here before you have your head severed or crushed."
Logan groaned but still complied. He knew he definitely wouldn’t be able to match the duo currently.
"That reminds me. It’s almost the end of the month, right?" She suddenly asked, causing him to raise a brow.
"Yeah. That’s right. Why? Oh... right!"
His eyes widened, and he abruptly covered his mouth. He cast a cautious gaze at Tamara who wasn’t even observing them.
"Then what do we do about these two?"
No one answered him, but a sudden light in the distance did.
Seeing it, Kiera didn’t hesitate. She kicked Tamara away, then retreated with the others.
"Hazel! We already have it! Let’s go!!!"
Logan’s loud shout interrupted the heated battle. The two students paused, looked at the light in the distance, then looked at each other again.
Yamada lowered his weapon. "You can go. Chasing you wouldn’t help us anyway. I must say your plan is really brilliant."
Hazel also lowered her weapon and backed away cautiously.
"I’ll take your word for it."
Then she turned around and disappeared too.
Tamara walked up to Yamada with a frown. "Why do you let her go? We could have used her as a leverage to take back our flag."
Yamada shook his head. "That won’t work."
"They wouldn’t immediately give it. They only need to insert it in their area for them to win. Do you think we can even catch up to the person with the flag, then threaten him/her before they insert the flagpole?"
Tamara fell silent, understanding his point.
"Let’s go back and check on the princess. I want to know why she let them take the flag."
Tamar raised a brow. "You think she let go intentionally?"
Yamada laughed and dismissed his hammer, letting it become a whirlwind of sparks.
"Do you think anyone can take the flagpole under the princess’s watch? Hahaha."
Meanwhile, Hazel and the remaining attackers had rushed towards the source of the light.
Soon, they saw someone standing alone, keeping guard and looking around warily.
"Ariel!"
Hazel recognized him with a single glance. She rushed up to him, and only then did she see the flag he was holding.
"You really did it."
She couldn’t help but feel excited, feeling that their win would soon be secured. The others behind her were equally ecstatic.
Suddenly, Logan facepalmed. "We forgot Kaiser!"
Hazel froze, immediately turning around. "That’s..."
There was really no sign of Kaiser around. Also, one more person was missing.
Ariel spoke hesitantly. "Actually, Kaiser went in to rescue Mordica because she got caught by Adela while I took the flag."
""What?!""
Hazel and Kiera cried out in shock, causing the others to look at them weirdly.
"Uh... regardless. Why...? How did that happen?"
Kiera asked awkwardly, not even knowing what she was asking about.
Ariel didn’t answer her. Hazel was already glaring at him.
"You couldn’t get Mordica out of there... and had to send Kaiser in?"
Although hesitant, he nodded. "My priority was to get the flagpole."
She clenched her fists and teeth hard, then exhaled.
"You all continue back to our territory. I’m going back for Kaiser. And Mordica."
"Wait, what? Isn’t that too dangerous?" Logan immediately frowned and disagreed. "It’ll only be you against all of them."
Hazel glanced at him and asked. "Isn’t it only him against all of them now?"
Logan fell silent for a moment, then said quietly. "Well, he’s pretty strong, right? He should be able to handle it."
Hazel shook her head in disappointment and turned around.
"That doesn’t matter. You shouldn’t push a person to their limits as you like. Besides, that wasn’t what I signed him for."
She turned her head to Ariel. "Go back to plant that flag as fast as you can. As for the others, help Liam defend the city. Understood?"
They all nodded, and she soon dashed back.
