Chapter 956 - 955 - Crystal Tier
Chapter 956 - 955 - Crystal Tier
Lind took several months to recover when he could have done it in days previously. Qing and the rest lectured him heavily but Lis and Little Fox had begged for them to forgive him and it was hard to stay angry with those 2 begging.
Delenn confirmed his shard was on the cusp of breaking through as well so he cultivated once he was safe to do so. He needed to be in peak condition when he attempted it as he now was warned he had nearly faced it in his rush to heal everyone.
She was unsure how he changed it but it was entirely possible he had depleted himself so badly he could no longer advance!
He could have suffered severe Qi deviation at best or death at worst!
Haro had recovered enough to talk but he was severely depleted once more. Thankfully, he recovered far more quickly in the Celestial Fields.
Currently, Lind was in a simple house made of normal wood. There were no formations or other precious materials making it strong as it was only meant for him to reach the peak of his condition.
"The area has been cleared and sealed." Delenn's voice was noted but he continued to cultivate. He could feel her staring at him but knew she was checking his condition. "I will be at the border when it starts. I will do what I can but I have never seen one on this layer before."
It was the one thing they could not totally plan for. A Crystal Tier broke through on the next layer due to the destructive power of their tribulation. There were ways to restrict the damage but Delenn had no resources to Forge what they needed.
Haro even did not have the materials in the quantities they needed either. The good news was they were currently given some wide open spaces.
Delenn stated that a Crystal Tier tribulation could easily take up 50 to 80 square kilometers but given they were on the first layer, they cut off over 500 square kilometers to be safe.
Many Shard Tiers had come to watch but they were also ready to retreat if needed. Delenn could try to contain it as best she could. She had spoken of stories where protecting anyone caught in such a tribulation was fine. It was only the actual cultivator challenging it that any interference would be treated as an issue.
Lind slightly nodded and she left him alone.
[Master, a warning. True Lords face the price of their actions in their tribulations.] Haro suddenly spoke up but Lind narrowed his eyes.
Why did Haro suddenly reveal that?!
He had been trying to find out from the Temples but only now at the last moment he was given a warning? What did it mean he would face the price?
He wanted to ask but his shard suddenly cracked! It could not contain any more Qi or Laws!
It was time!
He moved outside and saw the black clouds gathering. It spread across the once bright day and made it dark as night! The pressure was insane! He felt like lead weights were pressing down on his body!
Flashes of lightning were followed by thunder powerful enough to shake his bones! He saw the trees around him cower! They were only World Realms but they were afraid of the sky!
He wanted to see how far the tribulation went but he could feel the power already building!
"Ah Hell." He barely finished speaking when his world went white! Pain unlike anything he had ever felt rocked his body! The lightning coursed through him like liquid fire!
He tried to control it but it went straight to his dantian! The shard lit up with all 18 elements and his harmony! It blasted into his dantian and he nearly blacked out as it struck!
Unlike the shattering he expected, the lighting coursed around it as his elements and Laws worked to incorporate the power into it!
The cracks grew as tiny shapes began to poke out but Lind had no time to concentrate on that as he had to focus on healing his body. Delenn had warned him he would have a limited window to heal and it would get shorter as time passed.
The power was building and he noticed lightning in the distance but it was random. The tribulation had exceeded their projections?!
He returned to his peak and felt a bit more power but then the 2nd bolt came like death itself! He felt no joy from the Heavens like before and realized the terror he was experiencing was just like all other cultivators.
He had not appreciated that reality before.
He focused on his survival with each bolt and the strike lasted longer as well! He lost track of time but he got glimpses of his crystal forming inside his dantian.
It was an amorphous shape but he could not study it as he focused on just controlling the ravaging power of the tribulation.
It was about the 7th bolt that he realized something was seriously wrong. The storm around him was striking everything! All the plants down to the blades of grass were being wiped from the surface as expected but there was something else in it.
It was Qi of all 18 elements!
Delenn had never mentioned that! He wanted to observe it but could only focus on himself. The 7th bold seemed to last an eternity before it finally stopped.
He was covered in blood as he down an elixir but it did not seem to be as effective as he wished. He only recovered a third of his strength and his body only healed partially.
The pressure was building above but he looked up in defiance as his body transformed! He had endured as a human for 7 rounds but the last 2 would take all he had!
His sinuous dragon form barely stabilized before the 8th strike! His roar shook the Heavens as blood spurted from his body and orifices. It was easier to guide the lighting to his dantian but his transformation was weird.
It was not larger but felt far more powerful than before!
A casual swipe of his claws sent out shockwaves like a peak Shard Tier with ease!
He had no time to devote to the changes as his body worked to heal itself for the last bolt of lightning.
He soared into the sky and greeted the final bolt directly. Pain seared through his entire body as his soul strained to hold on! Everything hurt!
The lighting tore apart two thirds of his body. His limbs burst open from the power of it as blood flooded the ground below.
He barely held on as the lightning finally reached his dantian. The shape finally solidified and he felt the tribulation shift.
A shaft of pure light washed over him and soothed his pain!
His broken limbs were restored at a rate visible to the naked eye! His muscles were far more powerful but he focused on his dantian.
The body was fine as Heaven rejoiced! The entire Celestial Fields felt it as he ascended to the next tier but he was shocked at what he saw in his dantian.
The sliver and shard had floated at the heart of his dantian but now there was a massive crystal flame inside his dantian! Emerald flames had been frozen in glittering shapes. It was not just emerald, however. Inside it were 3 sets of elements!
The Celestial Qi had taken up the tips of his emerald crystal with the demonic elements in the main body and his natural elements at the core of it! Further, he could feel a connection to Forging, weaving, and elixir mastery at the heart of it too!
It looked massive compared to Delenn's!
Her anvil only took up a little over three quarters of her dantian! His nearly filled his dantian to bursting!
Power flowed in his veins as his body was restored! He wanted to delve into his new abilities but the black clouds began to bulge directly above him!
The pressure had returned and he prepared for whatever came!
Normally, it would be when the lighting dragon would appear but the clouds parted and a new sight greeted him.
A Divine Azure Dragon! It was vibrantly blue and its eyes were bottomless as it looked at him.
What was going on?!
Lind felt like there was intelligence in those eyes!
The massive dragon filled the sky and he felt like an ant! How was he supposed to face that?!
Before he could really contemplate, a single claw pointed at him before lighting shot out like nothing in the previous 9 rounds! It slammed him into the ground but it ignored his body!
His soul was struck!
The dragon was merciless as the power kept flowing into him but Lind glared up.
[I will not bend! I walk my own path!] He felt the old instincts trying to rise but he quickly controlled them. His roar was followed by a flash of emerald as he shot back into the sky! The Azure Dragon seemed to smirk as it shook its head and a mane of needles were unleashed at him!
Lind whipped his tail and deflected most of them but they still ripped into his scales like they were paper! He endured it and kept flying up until he was face to face with the massive dragon.
His soul and body shivered but his mind remained resolute.
The giant blue orbs of its eyes left no secrets hidden before another bolt of lighting struck him!
He was nearly buried into the ground before it ended.
[We will meet again, junior.] An ancient voice spoke to him as the tribulation finally came to an end. He was unsure how he passed but he was finally a Crystal Tier. It was over!
He slowly slithered out of the crater but then realized the clouds had not vanished. Haro's warning came back to him.
A True Lord would face the consequences of their actions! He had one more part of the tribulation to go!
