Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 949 - 948 - Conditions Met

Chapter 949 - 948 - Conditions Met

The news of a new Immortal Inheritance spread like wildfire among the Celestial Fields. All also noticed how the Qi density increased and Laws seemed to be easier to comprehend for a time. The benefit of such an effect made it clear!

Inheritances were an opportunity not just for entering but in creating!

Several Immortals that had no potential left began to look to make their own and their powers happily supplied them with resources to do so!

Lind smiled at such news but also at what he withheld. Everyone assumed it would be 10,000 years before his Inheritance went into action, but he did not correct them. It was true the fixed entrance would open as he stated, but it was already active!

He wondered how it would work in the lower realms as the Celestial Fields had been broken for so long that Ruins or Relics were more common than Inheritances. He could only wonder as he had to focus on his next task. Preparing for the Crystal Tier!

"Lacie! Come out, come out wherever you are! Hiding only delays this. You have been abandoned by the Ling Clan!" A man with blood trailing down his left cheek and stubble of his dark beard shouted in a jungle.

The humidity was a killer even for cultivators if they were not prepared. The beasts and aether beasts were the rulers of the place but a Stone Tier was not one that could be challenged easily in that area.

The World Realm was a powerhouse in the world. The legendary Sky Realms were able to be counted on one hand and did not involve themselves in the petty squabbles of the lower realms.

The man had an open leather cloth vest and leather pants and boots. He was not a bad looking man but his blue eyes were cruel as he wiped the blood from his face.

"Boss, we found a trail." A large man with no shirt at all but a heavily scarred chest came out of the overgrowth next to the first. The dark hair was tied back into a ponytail on both men.

They joined a few others and their clothes revealed they were not bandits. They were too well dressed for it but the thuggish members made it hard not to think about it.

"That damned cursed princess should just give in. Only those Heaven and Earth hates make them 6 elementals." A scrawny man with only a dagger at his waist and a simple set of robes spoke up.

"Now, now Cecil, she just has not accepted her new reality as our plaything. She is no longer royalty but a fine catch for our Prince to have." That was correct, the group was part of the Kingdom of Azure Falls.

They were neighbors to the Flowering Empire. Despite the name, the Flowering Empire was a supreme power with 3 Sky Realm ancestors backing them. No one in their right mind would ever think of harming a member of their family unless they were abandoned.

Princess Lacie, the former, had been blessed with talent and reached the peak of the Body Refining Realm by the time she was 14. It was an unheard of speed but then she broke through to the Soul Realm.

She wept openly as 6 elemental cores appeared in her dantian with a rose colored flame at its center!

Her mother tried to hide it but the Emperor found out and cast his own daughter to the wolves. She was a gorgeous woman and had many suitors but etiquette dictated waiting until she reached the majority at 16 to make official applications.

Now, she was 17 and on the run as many chased after her! If not for some loyal retainers, she would have been caught long ago!

"Let's get her." The man in charge had the rest snap to attention. They were only peak Soul Realms for the most part but they were experts of their kingdom.

The chase was almost over as the jungle was either suicide for her or capture. There were no other options.

A tear stained young woman with bright azure hair had raggedy clothes covering her. She refused to give up! So many had died to keep her free and she did not want to stop!

She had suffered tempering her elemental cores while keeping her foundation suppressed but only got to tier 2 of the Soul Realm in 2 years! Other Soul Realms could easily ascend to the 4th tier in that time with resources like she should have had.

Where had it all gone wrong?

She had loved studying and never thought she would be abandoned! She never even conceived of being a 6 elemental!

Her silver eyes marked her as much as her hair as a member of the imperial royal family. Her little brother had been so loving but had coldly betrayed her to her current pursuers. Her mother had been executed publicly for smuggling Lacie out of the palace.

She could not let it be in vain!

"I swear to Heaven and Earth, I will find a way to cultivate!" It was unfair! No one even tried to figure out 6 elementals! Why?!

The jungle gave way to a swampy area that she sank to her waist suddenly. Fear raced through her heart but she had no turning back now. Her fate was hers alone to decide!

She then heard the sound she feared most. The brush was shaking and the voices of men laughing reached her. They found her!

She did not freeze but dove ahead. Either she would die to a beast or be caught but she would not give in! She damned all the ignorance people had. It was difficult to cultivate a 6 elemental but they existed.

Heaven and Earth were fair so if it existed, there must be a way!

"The snakes are not in the water, 'Princess.' You only have us to deal with." She ignored them as a rose colored flame lit up around her body. She suddenly had the strength of 5 men and the soldiers became wary.

It was something others had suffered from as Lacie had somehow found a way to use her cursed flame to fight back.

"She can't do that for long. Wear her down!" Balls of flame, wind, and water shot at her but she ignored it all as she used her newly imbued strength to move away from them.

The surprise on their faces was replaced with grim determination as they chased after her. The snakes native to the area were scared away for the moment but if they came back with a World Realm, they would be in trouble.

"Come on! You are not a curse, you are the dance of elements in my dantian. I want to know! I want to know what you are!" Her words filled the air to the derisive laughter of the men but then all froze as a pressure descended on them.

Fog suddenly appeared as the soldiers could not take another step. Had a legendary Sky Realm appeared?!

The fog thickened and Lacie did not notice her flame dancing happily in her dantian as she desperately kept moving through the water until her shin hit a stone step hard!

She yelped as she fell forward but the expected splash did not come as pristine white steps were under her!

She finally looked up slowly to see a massive stone arch glittering in ways that mesmerized her. A massive coiled creature was at the apex of the arch but it was unknown to her.

She looked back and realized the jungle was gone. She nearly wept in relief but did not wait and basically crawled up the steps and went through the arch. If it was a Ruin, they could follow her but the trials still active could save her life!

She nearly gasped as she stumbled into bright sunlight! A massive plaza filled with alcoves of crystals surrounded her. She saw more arches on the other side but her eyes were drawn to her right.

A crystal nearly twice her height with a place to cultivate in front of it drew her over magnetically. She saw a flame of dark rose color filled her eyes. Her dantian felt like a weight lifted and she realized she was no longer struggling to keep her cores tempered ahead of her foundation!

"Welcome!" A voice made her jump but she saw a young woman with auburn hair smiling at her. Her eyes were red too! She also felt wrong to Lacie. A spirit!

"Hello, senior spirit. I thank you for whatever time I have gained from my death." Lacie had no illusions. She was still being hunted but the warm smile of the young woman only grew.

"They cannot follow you here. This is the Harmonic Inheritance." Lacie nearly stumbled. An Inheritance?! A proper Inheritance?!

"Wh–wh–why me?" The legends about them were clear. Only the chosen of Heaven and Earth would have such a chance!

The young woman pointed at her dantian.

"A 6 elemental trying to cultivate and swearing an oath to Heaven and Earth to do so. A 6 elemental that grasps the basics of their harmony. A person that does not give in to Fate." Lacie felt her legs shake as tears began to well up from her. "One that knows Heaven and Earth would not make a 6 elemental without a way forward."

The final sentence broke Lacie's control. The spirit embraced her and all the pain and loss was poured out of her in tears.

She was not wrong! Heaven and Earth did not curse her! They blessed her! She could cultivate!

"This is a harmonic crystal and matches your harmony. What you perceive is up to you but once settled, you will go through the Soul Realm Arch. You will face trials here and gain rewards if you pass them." The spirit's words made Lacie nearly collapse in shock.

"Does–does that mean someone else did it? Someone else figured out how to cultivate?" She asked it and the spirit smiled warmly as she looked up into the sky.

"My creator, a wonderful Immortal, struggled and persevered. He did not hide his knowledge and now has made this place. It is not only for 6 elementals but for all. You will learn things about yourself if you are lucky. Once you have gone as far as you can, you will return to your realm. Time will have passed but not as much as you think. Now, here is some water and food. When you are ready, see what you can learn about your harmony." The spirit produced a storage bracelet made of fine gold and jade.

Lacie was shocked as it was far better than anything she had ever seen!

Its capacity was insane as it had years worth of supplies inside. She then looked back at the crystal and felt hope bloom.

The first cultivator to find the Harmonic Inheritance began her journey. One day she would return to her Barren Realm and they would not be ready for her at all!
