Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 934 - 933 - New Arrangements

Chapter 934 - 933 - New Arrangements

It took a year for everything to settle. The majority of that was allocating forces to contain the Fiends. Immortals from various powers now led soldiers from all the powers that could afford them.

There was no longer any single power assigned as they could not be trusted. It had been proven that any weakness could be exploited. A fact that the former Alliance members bitterly recalled being brought up by Lind Frey himself.

It was how they had fought the war. The best warriors went to the Line and the other powers supported them but when they came up to the Celestial Fields, they no longer wanted the burden.

They tasted freedom and ran with it. They now saw the price.

The Fiends had bided their time and found a way to expand their sphere and then were betrayed by their own allies to reveal a plan that could have been far more devastating. If not for human greed, things could have been worse and they all knew it.

They also knew it was but a mere scratch of the surface. The techniques used to change the bodies of the assassins and the cloaks they wore were far too refined to be just experiments.

The newer powers also now grasped the terror of their situation.

Lind was able to pull back from the frontlines with a more secure mindset. He had actually been satisfied with the results previously but he too had been proven both wrong and right.

Wrong in that things were working out better than expected but right in that the old method of an allied force was better as it left fewer exploits.

It would still have issues but it would have far better results.

He emerged from a teleportation array. He could have gotten back on his own but he guarded all his members on their journey back. He was taking no chances.

It proved a wise decision as he sensed several disturbing attacks on the teleportation path. It did not have to be Fiends as there were no doubt powers disturbed by his complete eradication of the Belnath Consortium.

The attacks had been laughable, but without his presence it could have been escalated. He had no problem determining that a Shard Tier's presence warded off any extra danger.

His wives did the same for other groups.

There were some changes. His Clan was still not involved with the politics of the other powers but the support had shifted. It was a necessity.

Rasker could not afford the level of teleportation costs to help but Lind's weaving version could. For the next 2000 years, he would help train up not only the production techniques of everyone but Rasker's facilities would also be expanded.

New powers would be founded under those branches in time as the realm was too vast. As the population rose, local issues would consume attention.

The foundation of techniques would spread but the secrets of the Clan would be impossible to replicate. There was just no one that could teach like Lind to his descendants but the clarity of the elemental theories could be instrumental.

Those were helpful regardless but it would take centuries for it to spread.

Cultivators were stubborn but not idiotic. Pragmatism served them well and they just got a nice shock to the system to accept it across the board.

He was never so glad to be home at that moment.

Luck was never his strong suit when he felt safe, however.

[Lind, you need to come to see me, now.] Lysanna's voice was grim and he did not like that.

He then tore through space and appeared in an office that put his to shame. His had various materials and half completed arrays set for him to examine and deepen his comprehension.

Lysanna's was a lesson in order. He could readily identify internal sect issues, city issues, and external issues just by glancing at the shelves. He also saw a detailed map with markers but it was not Frey City.

The markers also made his face darken in anger.

"What happened?" Lysanna looked exhausted. She then tossed him a jade slip and he quickly examined it.

The information caused a flare of emerald flames he quickly controlled.

"Do they think me being busy will spare them?!" His voice was dark but one look from Lysanna calmed him. He took a breath and let her speak.

"I already handled it. I am not a Shard Tier for nothing. Still, it shows the threats are not going to stop. I had forgotten what it was like to have people try to sabotage you when all common sense states they should leave you alone." They had been attacked.

It was not the areas he had just left either, but the other parts of the Celestial Fields. The very reasoning he had just used that new powers would be founded by their actions showed the selfishness was still alive and well.

Pragmatic actions came in all flavors. A major attack had been leveled against the Frey Clan so many assumed they were weak.

They had now learned that was far from the truth. Even the branches had Immortals in plenty to protect them.

"So if it is resolved, why did you need me?" It was a bad attack yes, but no need for her summons. Yet, she then pulled him to follow her.

They walked down the corridors until they came to a family healing ward. It was heavily guarded and both emerald cloaks saluted.

Lind did not like what he was seeing as they entered the room.

Crystals glowed gently as a body was under the glow of a weaving that he recognized. It was an intense flesh regeneration weaving but only to be used for extreme cases.

Lysanna grasped his hand as she took him to a place to see the interior of the weaving. The jade display showed a face he knew well. Miles.

His skin was almost entirely gone on his body and all his bones were shattered. If Lysanna had not been there, he would have ripped the world apart!

"Who did this?" His voice was as cold as the depths of the void.

"We do not have names yet but they had powerful Shard Tier Immortals that engaged ours while their lower realms attacked. They also were very organized and far more powerful in groups than any power we have encountered before." Her voice was nearly broken.

He held her close as they saw his vitals were steady.

"What could hurt him like that?" She shook her head.

"We don't know. They stabilized him but no one saw what did that. Further, none of the other attackers had such abilities." Lind nodded but his senses connected to the weaving.

He saw the damage and the ravaging of his son's body. It was extensive but he was curious as to how there was little to no sign of Qi in the wounds yet the weaving struggled to heal it.

Only one thing could resist a weaving he had created like that. A powerful intent on par with his own!

Only one thing could match his intent.

All 18 elements flared as he applied it to an active control of the weaving. The struggling healing weaving suddenly surged with power as new flesh grew like weeds.

The blood was renewed but that was not all that happened.

Both saw a cloud of Immortal Qi emerge and take a shape. A feeling of anger and the desire to consume but a glance from Lysanna shattered it.

It was only a ghost of its owner and had its power dispersed by Lind.

A roar filled the room but it was not a dragon.

It was a tiger!

"It wasn't a technique that hurt our sun, it was the claws of a white tiger with a very pure Divine bloodline in it." If not for his own blood flowing in Miles' veins, his son would be dead.

The attack had been ongoing!

"I want everything we have on them! I also want Feng as soon as possible. She may know something about these people." If a pack of White Tigers had indeed come, it made sense that they were so powerful and coordinated.

The tigers were fiercely combative but also loyal without question to their leader. They were capable of near prescient reactions to orders.

Their individual strength was bad enough but as a group they were monsters.

They also had a deep instinctual hate for dragons and phoenixes. Lind was not exactly inclined to be open minded but he knew enough to know they were missing a lot of information.

No matter the level of their hate, why come so far to attack? The Frey Clan was far from everyone without using a teleportation array but none of the attackers used one.

How did they come so far, and disappear so quickly?

Miles was safe for the moment but he would never forget seeing his son ravaged like that. Lind was not going to let them get away with it!
