Chapter 920 - 919 - Old Order Restored
Chapter 920 - 919 - Old Order Restored
Lind sat with his fellow Shard Tiers. Unlike before, these were from several different places and races. A few came because he was the True Lord of the Dragons but others because of his various generous trade relations between them.
Valkyrie was a stand out due to being the sect master of the Heavenly Maidens, but the rest were of comparable power. The only thing in common was they were all Shard Tiers.
The massive meeting hall was in Frey City but it was heavily defended from eavesdropping, vision blocking, and aura reflection.
Lind also had Annabelle distribute some illusion formation plates to add to it. If anyone could break through it, it would inform all inside.
A simple service of steaming Azure Leaf tea was at each area. It was a powerful spiritual tea but the Temple of Souls were the only ones that had any of the leaves even after the Celestial Fields were restored.
It was very beneficial for Immortals as it helped soothe the mind for comprehending Laws. It was also very high end for a meeting but Lind felt it wise to let all feel at ease before beginning.
"Lord Frey, while I am happy to have received an invitation, I do not believe we are on very good terms." An older man spoke up who was actually from one of the more recent powers rising up from the Heaven Realm lands.
They were the Beryllium Sect that focused on refining and trying to snatch up precious mines that had recently been discovered. They were far from Frey City but Forging was one of their primary areas and the sect actually had decent Forgers as well.
"On the contrary Elder Sid, your techniques are inspiring but as you are far in the west I did not want to seem like I was competing with you in your backyard." His words put the old man at ease but he was actually speaking for the others there that were not friendly.
Several humans were sneering at the demons and aether beasts but said nothing.
"Your own techniques are nothing to sneeze at but still, why have you called us all here suddenly?" Lind smiled as the old man stroked his long white beard as his dark robes had a deep v in them to reveal the pristine white shirt beneath.
"I think it is time to return to the old way of things. Specifically given the recent actions of myself and my children in the Shard Tier." His words made several snap to attention. While the latest actions had been extreme, it was not wrong to say the Frey Clan was provoked.
A little research had revealed the previous courting of Hei Frey and Kyren of Rasker. Only an idiot would poke at that hornets nest and the Golden God Alchemy Sect had.
Many of the rising powers had put out feelers and the 2 things all agreed on was the Fiends were the enemy of all and do not cross the Frey Clan.
A True Lord was new to many but the survivors of the Cataclysm often had old records that revealed the terrifying power of such a being. It was why they all came at his request.
"What order is that, Lord Frey?" A woman with her silver robes nearly floating down her shoulders and her breasts just barely concealed spoke up. She had a long stemmed pipe in her mouth as she smiled at him.
She was part of the former Alliance but from a support guild. She was an elder of the Dancing Element Guild. They were formation masters of considerable skill.
"Elder Sistine, it is simply what we were used to in the mortal realms. The powerful do not involve themselves in the younger generation. Those of us from the Fiend War had no such luxury but the others may be more familiar with it. Even so, none of us have lived in the Celestial Fields like it was." He then turned to a young man with horns coming out of his head.
The man had fiery red hair and eyes but his horns were black. He bowed low to Lind.
"The True Lord refers to the etiquette all once adhered to. Immortals are far more common but did not interfere in the lower realms and their conflicts. They also respected those powers that had Immortals of similar strength." Many narrowed their eyes as all looked at Lind.
Aside from the dragons, he had the most Immortals by far.
He smirked at their clear thoughts but waved his hand.
"It is not just individual powers, but alliances as well. I am well aware many of you still have agreements to work together. Such a thing is also considered. The main issue is the appropriation several groups have attempted despite the clear presence of powerful figures." As if by magic, most heads swiveled to the humans in the room.
"Lesser species need not–" An idiot spoke up with dark hair and violet robes. Lind knew he was not from a supremacist power but the man himself had issues. The Skiven Empire was made up of several factions but they had sent a noble with complicated views.
As his words went on, the Elementals, beasts, and Celestials all looked irked at him. The golden skinned species was not known to many but he had invited them regardless.
"Lord Guile, I am not here to let you set rules of species. We are strictly here about how Immortals shall act going forward." Lind let the fool dig a grave but did not acknowledge it beyond ignoring it!
The man frowned as his goatee made him seem the perfect villain with his dark blue eyes.
He was about to speak when the beautiful Valkyrie flared her high Shard Tier aura. She was one of the most powerful Immortals by all regards. Even the few peak Shard Tiers were mostly support type cultivators that used pills or other means to reach that height.
She had reached it through pure battle and skill. Even though the Heavenly Maiden Sect could have pulled away from the Fiends, they still sent members to fight and contain the threat.
Valkyrie had fought both Mycea and Widow more than once until they suddenly pulled back 3000 years ago.
Even the most misogynistic powers did not dare disparage the Heavenly Maiden Sect.
Her aura brought the others back into focus as she looked at Lind.
"What exactly do you expect of us?" He bowed to her which made the dragon man flinch but even they, despite their pride, acknowledged the Heavenly Maiden Sect.
"Fiends aside, we have grown used to interfering with the young. Most of us simply had to establish our powers up here and carve out a place for ourselves. While that was fine back then, it has become a problem for the growth of those following us." His words had varied reception.
The beasts did not even blink. It was natural for the young to fight their way ahead so they saw no issue. The aether children were of the same opinion so no issues were there.
Demons either looked accepting or grumbled it got in the way of their desires. Still, they could accept it as even the troublesome demon powers liked a challenge at their own level.
Humans, however, were all over.
Some nodded, others simply could reason out the wisdom of it, but more than a few sneered at his words.
"You may be a lord of beasts, but we are not obligated to follow your words." Guile just really loved to dig it seemed.
Several glared at him but Lind only smiled at him.
"I want to be clear. If an Immortal is causing issues, you can respond in kind, but if it is any realm below, the same generation should be allowed to resolve it. Invasions, wars, and other battles will be free to do what is required." Some of the antagonistic humans seemed relieved at that.
"And who will enforce this, old order?" Sistine asked the question as she tapped out the used ash from her pipe. She smirked as she twirled her bright brown hair in her fingers.
"We all will. If an Immortal attacks World Realms, it will be severely punished. For the record, if an idiot wants to absorb a power under another Immortal, I am more than happy to kill them all." His words were said brightly but it chilled the room.
A few humans began to sweat as his smile left no room for negotiation. While many powers had Sliver Tiers, Shard Tiers were almost exclusively in the Frey Clan!
Even if all the powers currently in the Celestial Fields combined, they would only come to half the number in the Frey Clan!
It was the other reason none dared reject his invitation.
"So, you are stating that Shard Tiers should become ancestors that only act as needed. Sliver Tiers are the actual leaders and the rest is decided by each power?" A woman with pink hair spoke up from behind Valkyrie but he nodded at her words.
"Essentially that is what will become of us. We are all trying to advance and involving ourselves in the faster pace of the lower realms will only lead to misery for all involved." His words actually made all think.
The Fiends would still need to be contained but it made a lot of sense.
"So how did the olden days take care of it?" An older man spoke up with green robes. He was from the Sylvan Kingdom but Lind narrowed his eyes at him. He was an advisor to the current king but Lind could sense his soul was tampered with.
"It is fairly simple. If a Sliver Tier gets involved, other Sliver Tiers can step in. Same for Shard Tier but the price will be steep. The power that breaks the rules could be destroyed without much worry." His cold smile made all shiver as it was clear he was stating the Frey Clan position.
"What of Rasker City, then?" Valkyrie spoke up as it was currently a hot spot but Lind smiled as it was the very example he wanted.
"Simple, It is an ally of the Frey Clan. You wish to die, test me and see what happens." No one doubted anymore. Rasker was off limits! Still, it was known that it was not Lind that acted but his son.
He was also a Shard Tier but it was his beloved that triggered it all. Many heads nodded and the true discussion began of the compact between Immortals. The rules were fairly well known in the mortal realms so it was simply revamped for the Celestial Fields.
Shard Tiers were not involved themselves save in places other Shard Tiers did. They would become ancestors of their respective powers. Sliver Tiers would be the active heads and the lower realms would be protected or only interact with relatively the same level of power.
All knew some would break the rules but the current state left little wiggle room. There was simply nowhere for people to hide! It would extend the peace a bit but many ascending powers frowned internally.
They knew events were already in motion and war was unavoidable. They pitied any fool that antagonized the Frey Clan but it was not their concern. The next few days were spent hammering out the details and getting agreement from various powers.
All could see the benefits and the current state of affairs needed to be stabilized. Few argued save a few points but one thing that was brought up was the Frey Clan needed a new leader. Lind agreed but no one dared suggest the time it needed to be done.
The Immortals then left or made some deals while they were there and returned to their respective powers.
