Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 884 - 883 - New Status Quo

Chapter 884 - 883 - New Status Quo

A thousand years had passed since the Celestial Fields were restored. While chaos ensued for the mad dash of claiming new open spaces, the complete lack of resources in the vast majority of areas led to simply fortification and looking for ascension pools.

Lind's preparation with the Keystones allowed for a much calmer parsing of the available points. The supreme and high powers that had made up the Alliance were able to spread their wings but also breathe in true peace for the first time in a million years.

While the Heaven Realm lands initially resented all the Immortals leaving, the Fiends seemed to vanish just as quickly! It was clear that once the Celestial Fields reopened, the Fiends lost their interest in staying, at least their Immortals did.

There was still a vast territory they ruled but they had no interest in expanding and instead refortified all sides of it.

The areas that had heretofore been left alone or undiscovered by both sides could not be addressed as well.

It took very little time for more ascension pools to appear but most were centered around the desert where Lind first left the Heaven Realm lands long ago.

It was clear his connection there spread outward and accelerated the Alliance powers ascension pools.

The Elementals also had theirs reconnected and were handed a Keystone for it as well.

While the Alliance maintained their connections, the power shifted drastically in the new lands.

Beasts were the overlords of the fringes and the Immortals there were often far more powerful than their ascended brethren.

The Temple of Souls was a major power before the Cataclysm but was now a supreme power thanks to the many clans spreading around it.

Dragons were powerful beasts and their terrifying strength could not be challenged by the newcomers. They even actively protected a few places.

A small human power known only as the Citadel, had access to the Sacred Paths and a long association with the temple. The lands were rich in resources compared to others but none dared take it as several Shard Tier dragons took up residence around them.

Populations also were found at much lower realms throughout the lands that had once only been known as the outer lands. It was not uniform but anywhere a Sacred Path was found, life still flourished.

There was also a territory held by a being known as the Wolf Goddess. It was a mountainous area near another rich treasure of Laws and Qi but none could take it from her.

The wolves were like shadows and none could find them unless they allowed it. Further, the high density Laws and Qi repelled all by some method no one understood. Only the wolves could let someone in.

The weaker villages and towns were not pleased at the sudden changes but aside from the Heavenly Maiden Sect, most moved inward to claim areas they could build up. They also followed a plan.

Somehow, Lind Frey knew what pools belonged to the Fiends and all the powers took active steps to surround and lock in those pools.

They could not block them but they could ensnare them in traps and other issues. It was mostly Heaven Realm Fiends that had to deal with it, but the Immortal Fiends eventually broke through.

By then, 400 years had passed. More than enough time for the various powers to fortify and prepare defenses. The Fiends were still a threat but they were in a barren zone for them. Moving from them to more rich areas would require crossing enemy territory!

It would happen, but neither side had a definitive advantage. Even Lind's artifacts infused with his harmony only kept them at bay.

In all of it, however, not a trace was found of Lind and his empire. The Sanctuary Empire showed no sign of expansion into the Celestial Fields which confused everyone except the Heavenly Maiden Sect.

The 6 elementals that came up now found themselves free to explore and work on their comprehension. It took a few centuries before the various powers grasped that Lind was stepping back from the stage of ruling.

No one knew where he was, but all knew he was there. Another little fact was also revealed by the dragons.

Anyone that crossed Lind Frey would have their entire race to deal with.

It only took a little digging in old records to figure out that Lind had become a True Lord. Those that learned of it gave harsh orders regarding all of his family to be treated with extreme respect and honor.

Anyone that violated such orders would be crippled without trial!

Of course, many neglected to inform their rivals of that little tidbit.

As centuries passed, the curiosity grew in even the most vocal critic of Lind Frey. Where was he and where was his family?

Far from any village or spreading empire, a large wall encompassed a massive city that bustled with life. Flags and decorations in crimson, gold, and black were everywhere as the symbol of an emerald dragon on a back field made up the symbol of the Frey Clan.

The curling smoke of furnaces for alchemists to refiners covered a vast area of the largest section. Inns existed but they were largely unused save for food and drink service.

Farmlands were happily encompassed as well in the outer area but also beyond the walls.

A teleportation weaving was heavily guarded near the center of the main street that lit up before a woman with bright pink hair and pristine white robes appeared inside it. She had a look of shock as she looked around at the city that had another walled off area looking over it!

"That cheeky brat has been holding out on me!" Romana smiled as the guards flinched at her words. Her description was known and they had already sent word to the Clan Hall that she had arrived.

She stepped out to see carts being pulled by oxen and horses. She wondered where those animals had come from but most of all she was stunned at the cultivation auras around her.

The emerald cloaks on the guards were more than familiar but she noticed they were all at least Moon Tier! She sensed Immortals just inside her range that made up the majority of the population!

"Setting up my clan he said. Living a quiet life he said. Just a humble place to call home he said!" Her sarcastic tone was not missed and only made the guards sweat as she was clearly a Shard Tier!

None dared oppose her!

She followed the wide main road that could easily allow 4 carts at a time until she came to an open square holding a massive market. She saw stalls for individuals that were clearly temporary to more established stalls of businesses.

The mark of Starfire House was evident on one for instance!

How was this not an Empire capital in the making?!

She found elixirs, pills, and many items across all ranges up to peak mid grade 7! An auction was being advertised but the location was back where she had come from!

Romana mingled with the crowd and while she was given her due respect, she noticed a few do a double take when they saw her hair. That combination of bright pink and Maiden robes left little doubt who she was.

She smirked as she browsed before a voice cut through her fun.

"You were supposed to wait for me at the teleportation weaving." Romana turned to find a woman with amber eyes and a massive sword on her back. Her crimson battle dress complemented her porcelain skin quite well.

"Fey, you look well!" She meant it but the frown on Fey's face did not move. Romana scratched her cheek as she giggled but held her hands up all around. She noticed that not a single person so much as glanced at Fey.

She was treated as a regular person.

"Father is waiting for you. Also, he did not like the message that arrived earlier. He has things to do soon and cannot put them off now that the Clan has settled." Romana simply nodded and followed Fey up the road.

It was not allowed to fly inside the walls unless permitted or an emergency. Romana was neither.

She pouted about that but understood it. It would draw too many eyes while walking on the ground seemed more like a visit.

They swiftly moved through the guards stationed at the inner wall who were all Sliver Tier Immortals. Such a level of security rivaled even the Temple of Souls!

Romana had a charginned look on her face as she really thought Lind was not grasping how powerful a single city under him was.

The grounds inside the second wall were gorgeous. A fountain greeted them just past the entrance and an open stone resting area had trees to shade for each bench around the fountain.

She saw gorgeously crafted buildings with slanted roofs and dark shingles on each draped with protective formations to rival most core areas of a sect!

She passed open courtyards with pavilions that hosted tea parties to training. She saw many familiar faces that happily waved back and few that looked similar but very new.

He had more children!

No, some could be his grandchildren by now! Romana found it impossible to equate the retirement from power Lind told them he wanted to have to the reality around her.

She was going to tease him severely for that!
