Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 883 - 882 - New Frey Clan

Chapter 883 - 882 - New Frey Clan

A deep valley with massive trees and wreckage of dark metal strewn everywhere had been left in place as it had fallen until a shadow returned in the sky.

It had been 3 years since Lind had survived his suicidal solution to the Realm Refiner. The Wings of Freedom had proven to have many more issues as time went on and finally would be scrapped at the current destination.

A black dragon with a prismatic one appeared quickly to scout the area as a golden roc followed.

Both dragons were wingless but shared characteristics that showed they were related.

More people began to quickly emerge. Many of them wore emerald cloaks and checked the trees for any signs of sentience but none of them were more than Soul Realm auras in such a short time.

"You have strange tastes, beloved." A woman with short green hair and a whip at her hip floated next to an open hatch where a man with emerald hair stood with his eyes closed.

"I do not want to leave this place to chance. It had to be chosen for a reason and further, I want all those resources gathered and purified before any Fiend finds them. I want no leads for them to follow." She could accept his words but Shoti still felt it an odd place to set up their new clan.

A new shadow, much larger than the Wings of Freedom, slowly floated past their heads.

Much of the reason it took longer to come back was moving the object currently above them. The massive structure had 18 spheres with delicate tunnels interconnected like a web around a central tower.

The dry dock was not meant to move originally but the dragons had allowed Lind to reclaim it. They would have access if they petitioned in the future but like all the other races, the various dragon clans were spreading out like mad to claim old homes or make new ones.

There were several advantages to setting up their clan so far into the newly christened Endless Plains.

No one would bother them and frankly it would take every other race or power decades to reach them.

The speed of the Wings of Freedom and the dry dock far exceeded anything even a Shard Tier could pull off.

"Come on, Shoti, there is a lot of work to do." He kissed her cheek, which was cheating, to get her moving. The ship would be his focus as he had to completely shut it down and he was the only one who could with Gard.

The harsh conditions that required the far too unwieldy design of the Wings of Freedom were gone but also the support systems were wearing out after less than 5 years of constant use.

It showed a massive design flaw that would need to be addressed later. They needed the raw materials more so all of it had to go.

Of the original crew, only Oz, Gard, and Jeryl stayed with Lind. The hybrids now had better standing in their respective clans per Lind's decree.

No sane dragon would cross their True Lord.

The once ancient looking forest was swiftly cleared for 200 square kilometers. The lumber was going to be needed alone for the initial construction but that was not the first step.

There were still 3 spherical indents in the ground that felt wrong to everyone. Once Lind had the ship safely powered down and set on the surface, he took on his full dragon form.

He was massive as he filled the sky that some forgot he was once a human as it seemed impossible a human could ever be the origin of such a grand beast.

His emerald flames engulfed the surface where the indents and scrap metal was all collected. All watched in awe as black mist appeared and was transformed into natural Qi like it was nothing!

His flames did not stop as sigils began to appear and become connected to create a massive weaving. The density of Qi skyrocketed as the glowing emerald circle spread outward until it covered nearly 1000 square kilometers!

He then made several marks on the ground quickly before starting a new weaving. The Qi became even more dense but now Laws became more profound inside 400 square kilometers.

The size was far beyond their needs but that was only the immediate future. It would make for a good size once their clan grew and their needs did as well.

Once the 2 gathering weavings were set, he returned to his human form.

[All of you sort the lumber and other materials we brought. Gard is in charge of dismantling the Wings of Freedom. Any that can aid him, do so. The rest set up a guard and assume others may come. Keep an eye out for any manifestations as the situation here is still changing.]

His words reached them all and they got to work. He landed and began to recover his Qi for the next step.

Anyone watching would think it was odd that the lumber, stones, and other materials were merely being laid out in the rough pattern of where they would be erected but they had not seen what Lind could do.

He had been able to combine his Forging with the Fortress Art Wyndam had once created.

The result was stunning but he rarely used it as it left him exhausted.

Based on the current layout, however, most could understand what Lind was about to do.

Not even half a day passed before he opened his eyes and all evacuated the area. Those that could not fly were carried up.

[Ethry and Hei, please keep an eye on the dry dock.]

It was just hovering over them all but it was kept in the air by his weavings. It was not impossible they could be disturbed by his power at such a range.

His body grew once more but rather than simply floating, he put his body at its full length of over 20 kilometers in a circle. His massive form was stunning but then the glow of Qi began to appear around him.

It was not as simple as natural Qi, but demonic and Celestial as well!

All 18 forms of Qi danced around him as tendrils began to reach out to each pile of resources. At first, nothing seemed to happen but the outer ring where the first weaving had been made suddenly flared as the wood moved to make the bones of a massive wall!

It was filled in with both stone and metal as a golden wall took shape that finally became 20 meters tall with a path all the way around. At even intervals, towers rose up an additional 5 meters with clear views outside or inside.

A second wall formed shortly after at the same height but was farther up the slope leading to the valley.

The storm of Qi was glorious to witness but then a final wall appeared at the very edge of the valley. It was only 10 meters tall but compared to the larger 2, it was far more profound. All could tell it was infused with far more powerful defenses and attacks.

All 3 were Forged so they were not simple walls at all. Some found it odd that only the outermost wall lined up with the first weaving but the other 2 walls were staggered inside the more powerful gathering array.

The 2nd wall was surrounded for a 10 kilometers radius by the stronger weaving. It meant those close to the wall would get a similar benefit but then many sharp eyed fellows noticed a shift.

The Laws, once uniformly dense inside the weaving, were shifting around the 2nd wall!

In other words, it became even denser inside the wall but left an area better than the rest of the area.

It looked very humble for a start of their new home but it gave them places to start.

Lind was not done, however.

The earth began to be churned up as archways opened in each wall with patterns appearing in the ground as it passed. Roads, paths, and other basic connections were laid out for the major spots.

There were a few things that did not make immediate sense but it was like looking at a blueprint in the real world.

Lind finally stopped channeling Qi and Laws. He then quickly landed and turned back into his human form. He was covered in sweat and looked pale.

"Father!" Fey got to him first but he simply hugged her and smiled.

"Annabelle, I leave the next few steps to you. The foundation is laid, now the hard part begins." Making simple structures and some impressions was actually fairly easy compared to the next step.

They had to build the damn place! The new Frey Clan was now established but they had to have a place to live!

"What will be going in that valley? A clan built below a wall seems open to attack." Qing showed up and examined him as she asked questions but he smiled.

"Oh, I will be putting an herb garden among a few other things down there. The clan will surround the valley for the most part and control access." Qing actually blinked at his idea before slowly understanding.

Anyone trying to get at the resources down there would be seen instantly from many vantage points but they could also defend it much more easily. She also suspected there was more to it but they had time to figure it all out.

The sounds of construction filled the air as a simple hall was being built as their first home in their new Clan. The emerald cloaks, as they always had, moved to take up positions on the walls as well as familiarize themselves with their functions.

"I will look forward to all of it, now lay down so I can properly examine you or I will have Fey hold you down." Lind surrendered to their care as he pictured the future. He felt like a weight was lifted from his heart as he looked up at the blue skies that would be over his home in the centuries to come.
