Chapter 822 - 821 - Dance of Qi
Chapter 822 - 821 - Dance of Qi
The Honor Master had lived a long time. He had accessed a great deal of the race memory as well, but what he saw did not compare to even the most awe inspiring image from the well of memories.
He had assumed Lord Frey would physically go and attack but instead he had flown up into the sky and begun to summon all the Qi in the area.
It became so dense even a mortal could see it!
Complex golden sigils blazed to his eyes as they were connected in vast arrays before Qi spread like a storm across the sky!
He wondered what it was going to do when each and every artifact began to glow. It was as if each tendril of Qi was an extension of Lord Frey's will until only the jadestone communication artifacts reacted.
Emerald sparks lit it up but the Honor Master felt no danger. Gel suddenly jumped up and summoned her own jadestone communication artifact. It was glowing as well! It had been inside her storage treasure so how had it been affected!
Lord Frey finally descended but his eyes were closed as the Qi kept flowing. It was not random but a beautiful work of art!
It stretched out into the sky and danced like it was an entire party for all to enjoy!
"Found them all." His voice spoke up and then they watched as each jade stone began to act very weird.
It became angry and then a massive wall of Qi swept the area! Each jade stone connected to it and the Honor Master suddenly saw many flashes of stunned or pained humans calling out.
Lord Frey finally opened his eyes.
"Part one is complete. Honor Master, may I ask for your assistance? I need to reach out to Goddess Yue." He bowed to Lord Frey's request and was about to use his jade stone when he realized that would not work.
"Little ones, I will need your help." The demon children ran off to contact the nearest Heaven Realms and it spread from there. While that went on, the Honor Master felt awe as Lord Frey basically took the criminal organizations to task like they were small children!
"Well, that will buy me some time, but not much. The citadel will not come calling I expect." The Honor Master was confused. What did he mean?
Lord Frey did not specify but he carefully dispersed the Qi curtain, yet the dance continued. The Qi changed shape. He could do more with it?!
What was he seeing?

Lind was putting all he had learned about Qi to the test. He used no Laws and had to lower his quality to Heaven Realm level to get it to work, but that was sufficient. Even at that grade, he could use his much higher quality Immortal cultivation to go much further than he ever could before.
He was combining the flexibility of weaving with his Immortal Touch. His Immortal Eyes let him see far deeper into the constructs to tweak and find places to manipulate to achieve what he wanted.
He first used Gel and Honor Master's jadestone communication artifacts to get a feel for them before seeking out anything remotely similar.
He was stunned at how primitive the inscriptions were but a million years of degradation and limited resources had begun to become much more clear to him.
With the information Gel gave him, he found similar artifacts numbering in only the thousands. He reached out to all of them and easily manipulated the arrays and inscriptions like they were clay.
The normal resilience and redundancy built into such artifacts was entirely missing so he could do what he liked.
He felt his consciousness spread fairly thin but it was still stable. He then found that each artifact could allow him to support the load on his mind and free up his own strength. It was an interesting aspect he noted to explore later.
It was possible the mental component of those artifacts were the cause but it helped him localize his contact.
He found the original culprits very quickly as they had no reason to hide their insignias.
On the other end, in the areas of the former Starbreaker Empire resource areas, Lind was able to incapacitate at first but then resistance came back at him.
Due to being at the peak of grade 6, they had considerable ability to fight back. Still, he applied some more pressure, as much as he dared, to shocking results!
Anyone fighting back was killed instantly by the backlash. Over 90% of the forces were wiped out in a single thought!
It made him appreciate that not only the artifacts, but the cultivators themselves were weaker than he expected. His observations had been far too shallow!
The Fiends were weak to him so he ignored their easy destruction but the demons seemed fine yet he found there were still issues that made his original assumptions incorrect.
Humans had it the worst but far more than he had realized.
Once the ultimatum was sent out, he altered the functions of his weaving and Qi control.
He did not assume a show of force would stop the criminal organizations. If nothing else, they would switch tactics since he was a wanted man.
The official side would be the next prong of attack one way or another.
He did not intend to quietly wait for them to come. He could not build a power, but he could protect those that had far better claim to the resources than the humans.
He began to fuse the Qi under his control into the plants and what few natural treasures were strengthened before he let the tendrils of his Qi flit between gaps and natural passages.
He found several lairs and dens that cowered at his draconic aura, but he simply laid out trails that called to them.
There were panthers, stone dral, and a myriad number of beasts scraping by as he had already seen.
"Lord Frey, Goddess Yue is near one of my children." The voice of the Honor Master broke through his trance and he extended his control to just that stone. He only intended to contact her normally but his vision swam to reveal the massive form of the silver furred wolf in her full glory under the moons' light.
"Oops. Apologies for this but your pack is mostly darkness and air Qi and there is an area I feel would benefit you." He explained where it was, not too far from their current area. He felt her pleasure from his revelation and nodded before howling and the pack moved around them.
"Hope misses you. Also, we have a couple guests that know you as well. Please meet us soon." Lind nodded but could only think of a single pair of beings that would know him.
He was curious how far they had come in the last 2 years.
He retracted his presence and saw the aether beasts were on the move. He kept the peace with his many Qi tendrils keeping them on separate paths.
Any scent was buried by his own aura.
The dance of various races as they went around each other was almost beautiful with all the colors of hides and fur. The Qi and bloodlines could change beasts when they start their journey but with all of them on the move when not in a beast tide was stunning to see.
Lind wished he could paint it for others to see but he had no talent in painting at all!
He had tried it, but it was a horrible result every time. The laughter of Shoti as Cynitlla's shoulders shook while she looked away stayed with him as if it happened yesterday.
Once the various beast groups reached where he planned them to go, he let nature take its course from there.
Aether beasts could feel the pull of natural treasures to their bloodline and he knew any remaining humans would be severely outnumbered. He left them a way out but very few ran back to the citadel.
The rest was up to them and fate.
He was feeling the strain of maintaining the fast pseudo weaving. If he had still been a Heaven Realm, he would have collapsed long ago.
It showed how terrifying Immortals were as the depth of their Qi was far beyond anything a Heaven Realm could hope to match.
He did one more action and changed what he gave to the plants forming the border between the new areas and the rest of the realm to the west.
Plants were much slower to advance but their natural lifespan was far beyond even his own. With the infusion he just gave to that line of plants, however, many advanced massively to the peak of the Heaven Realm!
[You do not need to fight, but please let me know if humans come. There should be a human with the wolves, she is known to me.]
He felt a subtle response back. It was not a thought he truly understood but more recognition of his request. He then carefully recovered what he could and dispersed the rest of the Qi construct he made.
It temporarily made the density around his area far higher than before but he let it be. He was now covered in a sheen of sweat and felt tired but that was all.
"I will retire for now, but I am returning to the company of Goddess Yue. It has been a pleasure, Honor Master." The old man was simply staring at him in awe.
"Those paths of light the other clans followed, what were those?" Lind smiled at him.
"Your tribe had one too. I saw the Heaven Realms guide them. The resources of the Starbreaker Empire were taken from the aether beasts originally so I simply returned them to those races that have survived." He got up to go rest and knew the Honor Master was bowing low behind him.
They had helped Gel and protected him. It was the least he could do. He then became grim as he realized how few beasts there actually were.
Even in the current state, there should be more. How heavily had they been hunted?
It was self destructive to take it that far but it seemed both Fiends and humans just chose to live as long as they could.
His emerald eyes were cold as he entered the cavern as he knew peaceful contact was highly unlikely with the humans on the official side. A new war was likely brewing on the horizon.
