Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 767 - 766 - Rules of Heaven and Earth

Chapter 767 - 766 - Rules of Heaven and Earth

Lind dove deep into the knowledge of the Repository.  He now knew he had a slim protection compared to others against that monster but it also gave him something else to consider.

Ever since he had become a progenitor, he had noticed rather far fetched miracles around him.  Some he now knew was literally Divine intervention but others paid the price for that help.

He renewed his wish to see that pair once more.  He suspected he owed them a lot!

Now, he wanted to understand the benefits and dangers of everything he was.  As he focused on it, he found trepidation about his upcoming attempt to ascend.

Divine Bloodlines enjoyed the welcome embrace of Heaven and Earth during their tribulations but Lind barely had that experience and he started to see why.

Progenitors were always tested by Heaven and Earth to carve out a place for their new path and he realized he was likely a progenitor for the very reason of his existence as a 6 elemental.

He pioneered a way forward for 6 elementals and likely was a progenitor BEFORE he saved Ethry inside that Cannibalistic Inheritance.

The moment he successfully broke through to the World Realm, he had started the path.

The opportunity of saving Ethry simply cemented what he was becoming.

He now understood why he retained his human cultivation despite clearly walking far down the path of being a dragon.

He did notice that his own tribulations were much more severe compared to other recorded progenitors as well.

He was not sure why but the combination of Divine Bloodline with a progenitor was too rare for direct comparison.

The last one had actually been a white tiger and a human producing a child that carved out a new path for both sides of their existence.

Unlike him, however, that cultivator had died in their attempt to become a Shard Tier for some reason.  He then realized that the Immortal Realm was nothing but tribulations.

Each tier was a tribulation more powerful than the last.  Lanbao's Shard Tier breakthrough was months long now that he thought about it.

It was like Heaven was testing her endurance at the time but it was too dangerous for him to get close.

He wondered now what took so long but likely it would not help him to compare to that.

Lind began to gather what could be grasped and he realized the rules of Heaven and Earth were in conflict with his existence.  It made him think his tribulation might be a kind of battle just all on its own!

His Divine Bloodline would be welcomed to the next realm with joy but his existence as a progenitor would require a harsh test as well.  Finally, there were no records at all of a 6 elemental getting as far as he had before.

While the Heaven Realm had thrown him for a loop, he did not foresee the Immortal Tribulation doing the same.  He would face the same if not more risks compared to other cultivators.

Finally, he would face more than others due to the modified elemental situation inside his dantian.  He had all 3 sets of elements unlike anyone alive.

No one knew what that would do but based on what he knew about the elements, his harmony would be key.  The slim hope of having a relatively peaceful ascension was long gone.

After looking at the basics of each elemental set, he began to look at his professions.  Much like the World and Sky Realm tribulations, he would face something involved with his professions as part of the first 6 rounds.

At least, that was the most common experience.

It was at that point that he found something odd.  All research and history made it seem like only 2 sub-cores could be created in the Sky Realm.

Even his own experience found that he was the only one in the Moebius Sect and now the Sanctuary Empire to have 3 sub-cores.  A cultivator could touch on many professions in their life but the derivative ones required the gift to use them.

Even with all that, it may still not be part of their cultivation.  Yet, with the massive amount of data he had on his own and combined with the intensely in depth records in front of him, there were none but him.

What was going on?  Why couldn't someone have 3 professions tied to their cultivation?

"Senior, I have an issue."  He then explained what he knew but Haro was the one who answered.

"Master, that is not possible.  I knew you were capable of all 3 professions but I was unaware of that situation.  Are you sure?"  Lind did a cold eyed stare at Haro who blinked as a mountain of examinations done on Lind appeared.

It was confirmed.

"It is thought of as a rule as there were those that have tried to make a 3rd sub-core only to cause issues in their foundation."  He was confused.  Elixirs and weaving obviously went together but Forging and weaving also complimented each other.

He also found ways to combine all 3 for his own creations but they were limited.  If it was a rule, why was he able to break it without even trying?

It was not like he set out to do it!

He reviewed the studies but they were more about how combinations of each profession could work well together.  The rarest was an elixir master and alchemist as there were only a handful.

He also noticed they were primary elements at the Soul Realm.

He tried to pick it apart but then studied his sun more carefully.  The Laws he first comprehended were all related to the 3 professions.

As he dove into his dantian he pushed past the elements dancing in the fires of the emerald sun and went deeper to see the Laws condensing slowly inside.

He was fusing them into a sliver but it had not yet appeared.  He needed to survive his tribulation first.

Yet he saw something the slip had revealed to him.

There were 3 tiny suns glowing but they were very different.  One was shimmering and ever changing but screamed of elixirs to him while another was almost blending into the emerald fire around it.

It was brighter and had golden sigils floating inside it making the light.  Weaving was clear as day while the last one was potent intent and aura wrapped in elements.

Forging was heavier than the other 2 yet they danced in unison around the core of his foundation, his soul.

The massive dragon slept peacefully as it gathered energy for the trial to come.  He could instinctively tell it was preparing and the wall between him and Immortality was getting thinner.

As he looked on, a feeling came over him and the 3 small suns moved towards each other.  At the heart of their connection was his soul and he understood his harmony was the birth of it all.

[Tread carefully, Junior Frey.  You are not ready yet to ascend.]

The spirit warned him but he ignored it.  It was critical that he grasp what he saw.  He sensed the danger and as if he always knew how, he stabilized his condensing Laws.

They were streams of light and aura wrapped in his comprehension.  He felt closer to it all at that moment as the 3 suns were merged with his soul entirely.

Immortality was about becoming whole.  He had found his path and explored Laws, professions, Arts, and all of it but to become an Immortal was to join together all the disparate parts back into how he started, his soul.

When that was done, his body would become redundant.  It would still be good to keep it, but he could survive without it!

Extreme exhaustion washed over him and he snapped back into the outer world.  His body was covered in sweat and he felt like a newborn deer.

He expected to lose all his revelations but they were still there!  His Laws also were all transformed!  There was not a single Law Trace left in his dantian!

Haro was gone but his voice suddenly appeared in Lind's mind.

[Master, you were in a trance for 7 months.]  The words shocked Lind but he looked around and found he was still in the circular room of the Repository.  What was going on?!  He was far over the limit.

[Do not worry, Lind Frey, your time here is very different from the outside world.  My creator made the Index Room pass far faster in time than the rest of the world.  You could be here for 2000 years and only a month pass outside.]

The spirits words calmed him, but then he wondered how long had he been inside the Index Room?

As if sensing his question, he was given an answer that made him breakout in a cold sweat.

[Only 5 thousand years have passed since you arrived.]  He was just over 2000 years old when he arrived but all that progress and advancement took him 5000 more years?!

That on top of access to such wonderful knowledge to inspire and give him alternatives to consider and he still took that long?!

"I think I only have a few things to consolidate, but I will stay here if that is all right."  He felt joy as he began to cultivate to recover as well as producing several jade slips to begin imprinting his new knowledge.

When he emerged from the Repository, he had to start to prepare for his tribulation.
