Chapter 765 - 764 - Side Effects
Chapter 765 - 764 - Side Effects
Lind had made massive progress on all his Laws. The knowledge base in the Repository was no joke! He even deepened his existing Laws to better align with the 18 flows of Qi going into his sun.
His foundation was now balanced, polished, and nearing the peak of the Sun Tier even more than before. His slow speed had vanished!
It took an accident for him to learn an answer about his recent changes to his teaching effects.
It was not his harmony exactly but the risky bet he took with it.
The True Qi! It was the True Qi that actually made him more effective. It was an unintended side effect.
The Celestials were able to clear up any cultivation issue long ago with but a lecture. Their words were laced with True Qi which when combined with Laws in all their forms brought enlightenment like it was nothing.
It was a major problem. It meant even casual conversations might be helping people and he would never know!
He asked the spirit for help on controlling it and more information arrived. It was normally for Celestials but he found it very informative. It also included Celestial Arts!
They were of all elements!
He was nowhere near able to control that True Qi but he could at least get a better handle on it!
Some experiments demonstrated that while he was absorbing True Qi, he was not able to control more than before.
It might be a limitation built in or something else. It might be that the True Qi was tied up keeping his sun in balance.
Apparently he was not the first to attempt combining demonic and natural Qi but it had always failed spectacularly.
He quickly grasped why.
Harmony aside, the 2 sets of elements did not play well together. Metal and earth would demolish each other and the same with light and dark light.
Essentially, while demonic Qi was refined from natural Qi, it seemed there was a reason it remained independent.
The demonic Qi was a stable version of natural elements but because it was refined, they could not coexist as the refined Qi tried to extract similar pieces from the natural Qi. Resistance from natural Qi fought back and they destroyed each other.
That effect only occurred inside a dantian but it was likely due to the soul as well since the demonic path was more than just the elements.
Lind had been wise to only mimic it like he did until he truly understood it as well as he did. He would have suffered the same fate otherwise.
He exhausted all the resources given to study all 3 versions of the elements and he found flaws long solved but also new ideas.
Soul Cores were like seeds that were transformed into fonts to forge the crystal shards to make the Sky Core. The broken shards aligned into the constellations of elements under the rules comprehended by each cultivator.
It was after that when he realized the whole concept of Star Tier was wrong.
It was not about adding elements strictly, but about awakening what was already there! The reason secondary elements were so weak was due to the very misconception the current teachings had.
The reason 6 elementals skipped it entirely was due to the fact they were already awakened. Even the worst Sky Realm 6 elemental stepping over that line would fly to Moon Tier just as they currently were.
He broke out in a cold sweat to realize his elemental theories saved his life once more. If he had not figured it out and forced it through, Sky Realm would have become the limit as death would be the only result afterward.
The more he peeled away, the more he grasped how his cautious and deep diving into studies saved a lot of lives!
After all that, it was creating a stable core once more but with all the elements becoming part of a whole. The moon was the term used because it was a crater filled sphere. Fusion followed which naturally became a sun.
He smiled at how the naming was clearly done by comparison of how each realm worked. Yet, he saw room for improvement. He made notes and adjustments to his own theories when suddenly he felt exhausted.
He was completely out of Qi!
[You must rest. There is still time. Relax.] He smiled before simply laying down on the stone floor. He was so tired he did not mind but even his dreams were full of ideas yet he woke up full rested.
He then moved on to his own situation.
He was a dragon soul, progenitor, and Divine Bloodline all in one body. Just as the spirit said, it was damned rare to have any 1 of those but all 3 at once was an honest to goodness miracle.
He was stunned by 2 things during his research. While a handful of such beings had existed, all of them had been Immortals when they occurred. It was usually their long lives that allowed it.
He was unique for pulling it off so young.
The other thing was there was something else going on with him. While many had respect or tolerance from the races they joined, obedience was nowhere in it!
Why did his aura have such dominance? Ethry had a similar effect but it was more race memory working for her, but even when he was closer to being human his effect was pronounced.
[Haro, are you awake?] He reached out to his ring but while it was silent, he got the distinct impression it was listening.
[Haro, I am already treading a dangerous path where ignorance will kill me. Tell me what you can.] The dark skinned man appeared and looked far more energetic than before.
"Senior spirit, I request any information I speak of to be restricted due to Oath of Blood." Lind arched an eyebrow but felt a dome form over them. Many questions came but Haro held up his hands.
"Master, I am heavily restricted but considering the highly unusual circumstances, I am allowed a little leeway. I am not simply a spirit tool. I was created for the one judged worthy as a candidate for the dragon race." Haro's words made him curious but LInd knew there were limits.
"Will it affect my breakthrough?" Haro looked grim for a moment before nodding.
"You were trained by the Soul Master so his words still hold, but unlike other Progenitors, you are being judged more harshly. I cannot say more on that matter." Lind nodded but then froze at the next words. "If I still exist, dragons are still alive in the Celestial Fields."
He looked in shock at Haro. He flew up and grabbed the man by his robes before slamming him into the barrier.
"People are alive up there?! What do you know?!" Haro was calm but easily pried himself loose.
"I only know that dragons are alive. Further, I only know of 2 locations. You will have to go there to learn more. I do know, however, they temporarily warned Lady Lanbao to not advance any further." Lind's aura spiked as rage came over him.
"Explain, now." Haro sighed as he knew this would not make Lind happy.
"I am a lot more powerful than Shard Tiers. When you brought her into your brood, I was able to touch her mind. I heard the conversation but it was not exactly helpful, yet I do know a peak Shard Tier was the only kind of being able to reach across the realms." Lind had not heard a shred of proof anyone lived up there but now Lanbao and Haro knew!
Why hide it from him?
"I cannot speak for Lady Lanbao, but my restrictions mean I cannot volunteer information, Master." Lind sat down bonelessly. Soltara had told him he could reopen the ascension pools as an Immortal but if there were Immortals alive up there, why hadn't they done it?
"Do you know about the Cataclysm?" Lind pinned Haro with a stare and saw a flinch on his dark face. The ring knew!
"I was not here, as you know but I was in Skinwalker's Inheritance. While it was isolated, I was also aware that over a million years ago…everything died." The shiver was not missed by Lind.
"You are connected to Inheritances?" Haro shook his head.
"I cannot say more on that either but they are not Inheritances." Lind was confused but let it go.
"How do you know they died?" Haro struggled for a bit before seemingly getting permission somehow.
"I was waiting, dormant, but in the Divine Inheritance I could stay passively aware. Over a million years ago, I felt all connections to the descendants of my former masters vanish save a very few. They all died across all races. All at once." Haro then looked terrified as he looked at Lind.
"Master, when they died, I felt something terrible. Their souls were taken from them!" A flash of the dark figure with white eyes claiming all would fuel his cultivation and a dark thought took hold.
It seemed so sure Lind was doomed.
"All died, souls lost, and ascension pools broken. All tied to life." He looked up and tapped the ward. It vanished and he asked a question he did not want to know the answer to.
"Senior, did the Fiends try to consume the whole of the Celestial Fields?" Silence filled the room to the point it became awkward when she answered.
[Yes.]
