Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 763 - 762 - Mistaken Identity

Chapter 763 - 762 - Mistaken Identity

Just once, maybe more if possible, Lind would really like something in his life to go according to plan.

Every aspect of his life just seemed one curveball after another no matter what he did.  Even all the way back at the beginning.

He not only did not believe in cultivation but he was a blasted 6 elemental!

Even something simply like crossing the sea and a salamander manifested right by his boat!

Now, he went to what was considered the safest Inheritance in known history, yet that still went wrong!

He was unsure what was going to happen but he did know one thing.  He was not moved through space by teleportation.  He was taken through a barrier!  The feeling of the space was now on par, perhaps even higher than Lord Skinwalker's Inheritance.

The Inheritance of Lost Knowledge was a Divine level!

"Senior, I am called Lind Frey.  May I know your intentions?"  He recalled the voice but he did not know what it meant by 'at last.'

Silence answered him so he carefully looked around and nearly felt his head split open.  There were massively dense jade slips on 6 shelves.  He was in a large circular room but no windows let him look out.

The ceiling was the source of light but he sensed it was a kind of formation or maybe even a Law Array.

He stayed put as he did not know the rules of the room he was in.  He also was not sure what the Inheritance spirit was waiting for since it was what brought him there.

He sat down and cultivated for a bit before he felt a presence again.

[Strange, I sense one but you are a divine progenitor dragon.  A rare creature to be sure, but you do not feel like one I seek.]

One they seek?

"Senior, if you could let me know what you are seeking, perhaps I could have answers?"  Lind spoke aloud but did not stand up.  Silence greeted him but that time he was sure there were considerations going on.

[True Qi.  I look for one that can use True Qi.]

Lind was confused but since demons and other races had come, he quickly narrowed it down.

He concentrated before the 6 elements barely appeared inside his harmony.  He could only project the traces, but they were there between his demonic and natural Qi.

A strong feeling of surprise nearly bowled him over as pressure built to examine him even more closely.

[This should be impossible.  There is no trace of blood or flicker of soul in you from them.  Yet, you have their Qi.  How did you get this Qi and how do you have demonic as well so easily within your sun?]

The voice still boomed but Lind barely heard it as his blood thundered in his ears.

"S-s-senior!"  He barely got the word out when the pressure lessened.

[Apologies, I lost myself in curiosity.  Please, recover and explain.]

He slowly sat up and with a thought summoned an elixir to recover.  He then brought out all 3 of his badges and examples of his work to save time.

"I am a 6 elemental…"  Lind began from the beginning and days passed before he finished.  He still skipped a lot, obviously, but included all he thought relevant.  He even went in depth into the Laws and elemental theories had developed.

It was not a monologue.  The spirit asked many questions, especially when he got to his new elemental theories.

[Fascinating.  You learned something most Divine Realm cultivators denied for several epochs.  You are the first, to my knowledge, to resolve the conflict of 6 elemental cultivators.  Do not be so humble.  While you had help and some guides from your elders, you still put it all together!]

Lind smirked at the excitement in the voice and he could finally parse that it was female but that was all.

There was one point, however, that she contradicted him.

"You are partially correct about your harmony.  It is not a Living Law, it is a True Law.  They are similar and perhaps recently advanced but I have no knowledge of them.  In that regard, you are the expert.]

He perked up at that.  His harmony was a True Law.  He also noted no headache nor other issues.  Was he able to grasp that concept?

[Ah, you may not want to spread that around.  Aside from you, it could kill Heaven Realms and some Immortals too.]

He was confused.  Why was he different?  His own wives blew past him into Immortals so why would he be safe?  His confusion must have been clear.

[First, let me be more polite.]  The sir in front of him began to glow as a very tall woman appeared in front of him.  He was about to bow when all his instincts screamed at him.

She was impossibly beautiful and gave the feeling of being far more real than any being he had ever met.  Her skin was a shade of gold but it was not from any Qi, it was natural.

"You–you–you–?!"  He wanted to say the word of his enemy but it was not right.  The closest he had ever felt was back in the Orwellian Empire!  Timat's son!

"Celestial?"  She tilted her graceful face but then looked as if she grasped it.

"Ah, some did call us that once.  You should know a few things before I proceed.  I am not like the Skinwalker you met.  My soul is dead and gone.  I am a construct in the image and memory of my creator.  It is why I was unaffected by whatever happened billions of years ago."  His eyes narrowed at that new piece of information.

"Senior, please explain."  She nodded as 2 chairs and a table appeared.  The very appearance was stunning to him.  The wood of the hand rest felt far stronger than anything he had ever seen!

"Sit."  He obliged and a tea set appeared.  He carefully felt it but did not expect his sun to flare in joy at just a scent.  "Only a sip and absorb it but first, I am indeed what your kind called Celestials.  Our name is now lost due to Heaven's Curse.  I cannot speak it but my existence was left alone."

Lind felt a slight pain at the curse but he got through it.  It was the first he heard of that too.

He saw a golden liquid in the wooden mugs.

He sipped it as suggested and his Qi exploded!  He quickly clamped down on it as he cultivated.  It raged inside him but he was stunned to see more than demonic and natural.  Celestial Qi flowed like a river inside him!

Unlike the bare traces he had grasped before, he now had a real example of uncorrupted Celestial Qi to examine since the Ruin so long ago!

He did not let the chance go and focused on the storm inside him.  What was once barely flickering traces became solid flares in his own sun!  The natural and demonic Qi began to blend even better than before.

He saw Laws expand with ease and his foundation became far more polished.

[Unexpected but no doubt why I mistook you for one of the users of True Qi.  I thought perhaps one of them had finally returned but based on your story, that is not likely to ever happen.]  The spirit looked sad but Lind realized a lot of time had passed when he came back.

"How long was I doing that?"  A smile crossed her face.

"Time is not as inflexible as you seem to think.  Do not worry.  You will not be here for eternity after only a few months.  In fact, you are benefiting far more than the others that visit the Repository of *****"  The instant the last word was spoken, Lind felt his vision go dark and his head nearly split open.

Nearly instantly, he felt soothing Qi washed over him and restored him.

"Apologies, you are only a Heaven Realm despite having True Qi.  The True Qi is why you can safely know things.  It is not of this realm you live in.  It was never meant to be here save by Inheritance, Ruin, or Relic.  Even then, the last 2 would disperse fairly quickly with time."  He nodded as he intuitively grasped it.

"So you thought I was a Celestial?  I apologize for raising your hopes in vain."  He could only imagine the hope and despair but the spirit waved it off.

"I am far older than you, but I appreciate your sympathy.  Continue absorbing the Qi.  It should resolve the issue of your sun.  Your ambition is great but the imbalance would have made advancing very difficult for you.  Please keep in mind the only references I have are for artifacts for all 3 sets of Qi."  He bowed and proceeded.

He lost track of time but 6 more streams of Qi began to flow into his dantian.  He thought his sun was powerful before, but he now knew he could take on Immortals and win!

He also realized how dangerous a road he was walking.  He had barely crossed the line and if he had tried to step up to the next realm, his sun would have been torn apart!

"Excellent!  Your sun is now stable and ready to advance!"  He smiled but shook his head.

"Part of why I am here was for that but also to learn more about what I can.  I am pioneering this path and all information is valuable.  At times my professions have clued me in on how to advance and sheer dumb luck."  The spirit nodded but then froze at his next words.  "I would also like to know the truth, as much as you can tell me, about what happened to your creator's race.  How were the Fiends born?"

She seemed to be conflicted but then looked at him and he felt as if his very existence was weighed to within a millimeter of all its aspects.

"I can help you with your studies, in fact I would like your permission to add your works to the Repository master jade slips.  The other knowledge, however, I can only give vague answers.  I am not alive in the sense of my creator so I am not connected to their soul.  I only know they are gone."  She looked sad but then moved on.  "I can give context on the race you now know as the Fiends and the misery of what they once were."

Lind swallowed and nodded.  A great mystery had plagued him but now he might finally get some answers.  He might finally know more about the Fiends than anyone currently alive!
