Chapter 762 - 761 - Inheritance of Lost Knowledge

Chapter 762 - 761 - Inheritance of Lost Knowledge

It was actually a massive spike of heart demons across the Alliance.  It took Qing and other organizations coordinating to avoid possession on a scale rarely seen.

The Sanctuary Empire received some blame for it but since they worked hard to resolve it, the grumbling stayed just that.

The Divine Sword Sect also received heavy criticism due to how they handled the outed Fiend thralls and agents as well.

If not for the constant attacks at the Line, things would have escalated but they had lost too many people to be focused on it for long.

Lind held many meetings to regulate the issues and even Linghu offered some insights on the Laws that reacted to Fiends to his wives for something more permanent but outside of the Law Binding setup, it was difficult to create artifacts or structures to replicate the feat of the Law Binding itself.

After 6 months, the dust settled and Lind was informed his slot was actually open as one of the holders had been a thrall.  That little detail made the Helion Trading Guild irked even more.

It showed the Inheritance had no detection facets like others had for Fiend thralls.  Lind rather suspected it was the reverse.  Fiends would let the thrall live their life without more than an imprint on them.

No feeding, no strange techniques or extended life until they got through the Inheritance.  It likely avoided any issue until it became more pervasive later.

He made arrangements for his wives and ministers to keep things running while the training of the orphans and other applicants continued.  Basically, he was leaving for once knowing exactly when he would return.

The maximum time anyone could stay inside the Inheritance was 3 months.

As far as anyone knew, the time was 1 to 1 with the outside so it was not like he would be gone too long in any way.  It meant he should be able to research about himself and Laws to try and see what he had to do.

The next major realm was his focus as he had to gauge what he was expecting and comprehend more of his Laws.  All in all, the Inheritance was his best shot to fill in the gaps.

It was why the Inheritance was so popular because every cultivator had similar thoughts.

Lind went officially via skyship which made Lian's day.  She happily piloted the ship and the crew was all smiles as he was left to sit and just relax.  The crystal window port was made transparent to reveal the landscape slipping by.

He had not had much time to just relax in quite awhile.  He was always in meetings, training, or healing.  He actually enjoyed simply doing nothing.  He had no obligations and just enjoyed the sound of the crew working as they flew.

There was no creaking or even a feeling of gravity as they turned since Lind had isolated the interior from the exterior conditions.  A direct attack could affect it but it would have to be from a peak Sun Tier or Immortal now to even be noticed.

He had quietly improved the design a bit but for the Heaven Realm, the Nautilus class sky ship was more than enough.  He also did not distribute them much outside his Empire.  A lot of guilds and powers petitioned for one but he refused each time.

Thankfully, a 6 elemental with Forging and Weaving was needed to create the vessels and getting teams to work together would take very careful work.  He had trained such teams but their efficiency was far less than his.

Lian's ship was special in that he had made it from top to bottom.  It was the most advanced one but looked no different compared to the others.  The power and speed, however, would leave the others in the dust.

He had begun to grasp low grade 7 much better now that he had full Laws in his dantian but he still had severe limits.

He could  just endure more than before.

The floating fortress finally came into sight and he made the port opaque.

He slid open his hatch and walked up the corridor to the bridge.  While each ship was massive, it was only for extra parts and making sure the channels could withstand the Qi flowing in them.

It also meant they could take damage and keep working in a limited fashion.  The smaller versions he built before simply had not enough resilience once a channel broke.  The bigger they were, the less loss of function.

He hoped he could solve that to make more personal vehicles but it would take time.

Lian smiled wide as she was getting ready to connect to the port extending out of the wall of the artifact.  He smirked at the massive object but sad that it had to be created for the current reasons.

The Sands of Tribulation were a hard wall the Alliance was heading for.  His skyships might be the answer to crossing it whereas the artifacts like the fortress in front of him would never make it.

The Qi was just too thin out there.

He had carrier designs but had not used them since the War of Liberation.  They would need revisions.

He pushed it all to the back of his head as a surprising person was greeting him.  Her sapphire hair and eyes were sparkling under the sunlight as she had on dark green robes today.

Justine smiled as he boarded and followed her inside.

"Welcome back, Emperor Frey.  I hear you have been busy."  He looked at her askance as he was curious what her reasoning was for the small talk.

"We all have.  I apologize for the rough time at that moment here."  She waved it off but a wave of sadness flashed before she smiled again

A lot of friends had been lost during that week he released his screening artifacts.

"That skyship of yours is an interesting thing.  I could not perceive all of it so it was not purely an artifact.  Weaving has always been beyond me."  She was a terrifying woman with that kind of skill.

Half the reason she had become the guild master of the whole guild was due to the fact she could analyze treasure with only a glance or minimal analysis.  Such a skill was almost a Talent but thus far he had never heard of such a one existing.

They moved through the various twisting corridors but unlike Mythra or other cultivators, it had no effect on him.  He knew exactly where he was and how to navigate it because he had seen the entirety of the artifact that day.

Justine made no comment but likely knew that fact as well.

Eventually, they came to a teleportation array.  It was a very small one but he also noted it had a few strange slots open where Qi stones should go.

"Are those able to align to our current location?"  She nodded as she began to set it up and turn the slots until it finally lit up.

"There is simply no way to get to the Inheritance without teleporting.  I assume you heard the story?"  He nodded.

The legend had it that a battle, long before the Fiend War, had torn open space and a cultivator presumed dead had actually landed in a locked area.  They spent centuries there until they figured out how to work the teleportation array to get out.

The locked down space actually was tied to the very artifact they were in at the moment.  He was named, as one might suspect, Helion.  The guild founding was slightly hazy after that as the Fiend War had started while he was locked away.

One day, the floating fortress had arrived and Helion had saved many cultivators near death.  What happened after the fact was a bit of a debate.

The result, however, was the current state of affairs.

The feeling of dislocation was hardly a bother but Lind frowned.  He felt something scan over him of a level of power he had not felt since Ethry faced her tribulation.

Divine power.

It was his understanding the Inheritance was Immortal level but perhaps it was more.  Still, it did not change what he needed to do.

"There are some things to cover.  Once you are inside, no violence is allowed.  Anyone that tries to do so will be ejected and barred forever.  Reading rooms are private, trying to breach them will have an identical result.  Finally, if you are not allowed to proceed, do not force your way."  He had already known these rules but a question had come up while he studied things.

"What happens if a book is left out?"  There had been no mention of it yet it seemed impossible for something not to be left at the end of the 3 months.

Justine smiled and shrugged.

"No one knows exactly.  The tables are always clear but there is nothing alive inside nor any formation we can detect.  I do know sometimes a scroll or book cannot be found on a later trip but there was no rule about that in the materials found back then."  Lind nodded as he had heard about that.

Each attempt was precious so it was not to be wasted.  Lind looked up as they had arrived in a simple forest.

He saw pine and oak trees intermingled with a faint mist but there was a feeling of being watched as they followed a simple path up a hill.

As soon as they circled around the corner, the mist cleared to reveal an open stone slab.  There were 99 people already on it but they did not even glance at him as he moved to the last slot.

"One last thing, Emperor Frey.  There has never been anything about 6 elementals to my knowledge but the Inheritance can give you what you most need.  Do not try to scour on your own, think on what you want."  He was surprised as there was no such notice in the material she got.

She shrugged and put a finger to her lips when a hum filled the air.  Lind thought he would be teleported again but instead the whole slab lifted into the air!

He looked up and saw the sky shimmer before a giant base of a building appeared with a slot missing!  He had not felt anything at all but the Divine aura was stronger, a lot stronger.

He focused his mind on his goals and waited until they finally docked with the building.

He looked up and around him in awe as row after row of endless scrolls, books, and what looked a lot like stone slabs filled to the endless ceiling!

The others took off but Lind felt a calmness wash over him before his harmony reacted.

[At last, one of you has come.]  A voice made him jump before he vanished in a flash of light.
