Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 735 - 734 - Broken Dreams

Chapter 735 - 734 - Broken Dreams

"I would think that would only make things worse if I dare to interfere."  Lind did not understand why Balgorn believed any action was needed.  The Elementals were safe inside the Forest of Gaia.

[She does not speak of it but the heart is broken and refuses to heal.  The dreams are not unified.  There is danger.]  The serious tone seemed to stop just short of speaking clearly to him.  Lind was curious what was not being said but he pondered.

Soltara had told him the tragic history and his brief exposure to another native of the village made his stance clear but were the others just as angry?  Soltara seemed very reasonable and he had met at least a handful of reasonable Heaven Realms as well.

The young children also clearly were innocent so what was the danger?

Lind then shifted his train of thought back to being an Emperor of the Sanctuary Empire.

He had many meetings, mind numbing but useful meetings, about surrounding powers that would easily work together to those that had active rivalry.  The Alliance prevented open warfare since all resources were needed to keep the Fiends at bay, but what if it was the other way?

A power driven by their unbridled hatred could move too fast and too far for the Alliance needs.  They would not see their doom until it was too late.

"The Immortals constrained by Soltara want to change how they approach the wider world?"  Balgorn nodded with great sadness.  "Can't you help her?"

A great frustration spiked from him before it was brought under control.

[The young cannot override the complete.  Although my song is superior, I am but a child to them.]  Lind slowly nodded if he found it frustrating.  Even among Elementals, the cultivation realm was what mattered.

Balgorn might have a more complete lineage inside him but he was still only a low Sliver Tier at best.  If the others were not far behind Soltara, then they were likely at peak Sliver Tier or in between like she was.

The higher cultivation was what decided who was in charge in their village.

Lind suddenly understood why the other Immortal tried to kill him!  He could heal or restore vitality to Soltara!  They were enemies even if he 'respected' her.

"You spoke of a dream but mostly I hear about the song.  Isn't the song the Dao, then what is the dream?"  Lind knew they did not see the world the way cultivators did.  In fact, he was hoping to learn more of their point of view but the serious conversation seemed more important at the moment.

[Difficult.  You know the song but do not–]  Balgorn froze as his aura focused on Lind before he slowly stood up and walked around him in curiosity.

[You have changed!  You now have the dream too!]  Lind was truly confused.  What was the dream?  If the song was Dao–no!

Soltara had told him his natural cultivation was the closest to the complete song she could understand!  It was his harmony that was the song she was talking about!  He had misunderstood!

The dream was the Dao!  The Great Dao to be precise.

He glanced at his newly grasped knowledge in the jade slip in his ring and realized what Balgorn was talking about.

"The reason the little ones enjoy my harmony was because it is the song but my control of it is the dream?"  He summoned emerald Qi and began to really look at it.

Before, it was simply pure and unblemished in his dantian but now the Laws were changing it.  He could see more!

A smile crept across his face as he understood it was slowly coming together!

[It is a start but the dream is part of you.  How?]  Lind shrugged as he truly did not fully understand.  He knew his strange jump ahead or connecting to his future self had opened a doorway he had been looking for for so long.

"So how can I help?"  Balgorn smiled but then turned his head sharply.  It was the first time since they reunited that his features did not quite keep up.  The head became blurry until it re-solidified looking out the door.

[Progenitor, the young ones want to play more.  Would you be willing?]  One of the 3 envoys had come and Lind smiled as Balgorn held out his hand to let him out.

When he emerged, there was a virtual storm of life around them!

He started over and set up several rings as he spoke once more about 6 elementals and all the cultivators Arts he knew of.

The Soul and World Realms were slowly joined by cautious Sky Realms as time passed but no Heaven Realms save the 3 he had met back at his palace.

Lind felt many auras looking, but they stayed far away.

Balgorn and Soltara protected him from any overly curious examinations but he enjoyed teaching again.

He was not preparing his disciples for survival or facing Fiends, but just talking about the elemental relationships like he did back in the old days.

Far from the show Lind was putting on, 5 auras condensed projections in a clearing isolated from the rest of the village.  It was the old meeting place of the Solid Realms before they needed the temples to protect themselves.

"The dragon progenitor somehow restored Soltara?"  A man spoke up from a small stone chair at the head of a broken stone table.  The lack of care was simply due to the fact that none but they could enter there.

"He did more than help her, he seemed to actually make her younger somehow.  If my senses are not wrong, it is like she regained 10,000 years."  Elara was a gorgeous female form.  While the Solid Realm was generally shaped at will, she always maintained a seductive shape and robes.

A slim woman next to her shattered the arm rest to powder in anger.

"Tut, tut, Uri, calm yourself."  Elara teased the younger Immortal but all jumped as a murderous aura came from the well built Melar.  His opinion needed no words.

He was chomping at the constraints Soltara put on them.  He wanted to avenge their ancestors.

"Of course, Melar, you remain unchanged no matter how far you have come."  Elara picked on him as well but all of them cowered as a far more powerful aura came from their last member.

She was a lithe form but power came from every inch of her body.  Only one being was superior to her and that was Soltara.

"Portan, make sure Melar does not act out again.  Elara, stop acting up entirely or I will shatter your temple myself.  Uri, any more outbursts will simply get you ignored forever."  The firm voice made them all shiver.

"Ulta, she is going to live longer!  What are we going to do?"  Uri asked the question they all wanted but the more powerful woman simply brushed it off.

"I have no worries there.  The dragon progenitor cannot stay forever and even if he means no harm, he will not ignore the activities of the others.  He will have to reveal his fangs soon enough."  Logical but not a consolation on the greater issue.

They had been planning for the soon to occur death of Soltara.  With no replacement, her authority would pass cleanly to Ulta.  The newly arrived Solid Realm was too young to do anything but his followers were also too weak to make much of a difference in the lower realms.

"I will not stand by while one of those monsters is here!"  Melar exploded suddenly as clearly he was still watching the session Lind was having with the young.

"You will do nothing.  If you instigate, no one will hold him accountable.  The same with Soltara.  We leave her be and she will still die soon enough.  She has only a tiny piece of time left.  We each have at least 300 thousand years each."  Ulta's point was clear but even Elara was chafing at holding back.

They were at the best point to strike back while the Alliance was still recovering from the last battle.

There were many targets they could grasp and several cultivators delivered themselves to the forest.  Their revenge was finally about to be enacted and Soltara brought one of them in to help her!

Her explanation only made it clear that Lind Frey was dangerous.  He seemed to attract the young to him like moths to the flame.

"Can we not trick him into consuming one of the newly born?"  Elara's cold words made even Melar snap out of his anger in shock.  While many of their village would say Melar is the most blood thirsty, they would be very wrong!

"If anything happens during his stay, even a scratch, I will hold all 4 of you equally responsible.  Soltara got a small extension.  Once she is gone, you will all see how we can proceed.  Now, return to your homes."  Ulta dismissed them and they all left.

She sat alone looking at the worn and broken stone furniture that had once been so pristine and powerful but were now just turning to dust.

She looked above and sneered.

"Fools.  I am going to live beyond all of you because I am going back.  I will not die here."  Ulta had only one goal and it was not revenge.  It was life.  All for her life alone.
