Chapter 703 - 702 - Promised Land
Chapter 703 - 702 - Promised Land
The central district of the old Moebius Sect was still being modified but the structure at the very heart had been redone by Lind himself. He actually feared what would happen if his followers were allowed to make his palace.
The memory of the highly detailed statues the Two Rivers people made was still a scarring experience for him.
Thus, a 7 storey palace had been created. It was only 1 kilometer across with a wall surrounding it, but the majority of that was pleasing gardens or lakes for visiting people to enjoy. Lind found he enjoyed the outdoors a great deal more than ever before.
Being stuck inside that Law Binding made being indoors annoying to him.
The structure was styled after the sect still with a massive central tower surrounded by a complex circle of layers leading up to it. There were 6 towers around the central one.
He had each of those towers designated for the facets of his empire to house their offices and meeting areas.
Below the towers was a circular castle with an audience chamber at the heart of it surrounded by meeting halls and kitchens for servants and their families to live nearby. He also had courtyards for guests that wanted to stay for short times.
The central tower had 2 floors for special or high ranking guests but the top 4 floors were for his family and disciples.
The Sanctuary Empire would still support an official sect but it would not be like the Moebius Sect. His goals had changed.
The Empire would unify the races that wished to grow stronger together but the sect would be the production house of the Empire. It would focus more on raising cultivators to be elixir masters, weavers, Forgers, refiners, formation masters, and alchemists.
It was a broad project but it would be as grand as they wanted it to be. It would have to be larger for what he wanted too.
Lind passed by several windows looking at the reconstruction that was ongoing but the scars of battle remained. His harmony was the best to remove Fiend Qi, but he had been surprised to find more harmonies were beneficial against Fiends in general.
Weapons usually had the best effect but even creations that used harmonic Qi were devastating to Fiends.
Lind's mind stopped wandering when his nose smelled someone coming down the stairs he had not expected to meet in his family's quarters.
Bright pink hair was bouncing as a woman in pristine white robes was practically skipping as she hummed. Romana had been so grim when they met again but in the last year, she had stopped by often to catch up with him.
Her smile spread wide to see him but then she snickered as she waved going past him.
Lind sighed as he added yet another reason to scold Shoti.
He finally got to the first landing which lead to a massive open floor space.
There were alcoves with couches or the large dining table at the center to show it was a gathering place.
They had meals or simply relaxed together in the same room. Things had gotten quite large if they wanted to all be in the same room without being overcrowded.
Fey was currently out but she had cracked a few of his ribs once things had settled. He had been overjoyed she had broken through to be an Immortal!
Tal and Illyria were likely in their rooms if they were not on the main floor but Lind's eyes narrowed at a scroll marked with his name on the large dining room table. The circular table allowed them to sit how they wished but now it was empty of all but that scroll which was unusual.
He opened it up and frowned.
[Sorry! Come find me when you want!] Shoti's quick handwriting was somehow a flirty tease even just reading it!
Lind kept an eye out for any of his other wives but strangely he found none of them. As he ascended to the next floor found no one there.
They were all very busy but he usually ran into at least 2 of them in the main tower. Yet now, none of them had been there in so long his nose barely smelled them.
Lind moved up to the last floor below his and saw his mother packing up to head over to the construction.
"Mom, do you know why Shoti is being a bit troublesome?" Mira smiled at him as she giggled.
She slung a large bag that was a low grade 6 storage treasure but it was one she liked. Her black and crimson robes were looking very prim and proper today too. As she walked up to him, he had a sudden sense of deja vu.
"Be brave, my son." She then patted his head and left.
A sudden fear filled him as he looked up to the last floor. Surely not, right?
The curling set of stairs suddenly made Lind break out in a cold sweat. His feet felt like lead and his body refused to move.
Suddenly, he was pushed from behind as Mira looked at him in amusement. She then moved down the stairs almost skipping.
Warning bells were going off in Lind's mind but he swallowed his saliva and carefully began to walk up the last set of stairs.
At the top of the stairs were 2 of his guards on either side of the double obsidian colored door. It was heavily fortified but they looked odd. He had seen them face a peak Sun Tier fire drake without flinching but they now looked like they had been put through a terrible battle and lost!
"W–w–welcome home, Emperor Frey!" The man on the left was stumbling over a basic greeting. What had they done to them?
"I think you 2 should go to the 5th floor." They both saluted and nearly sprinted away.
Lind shook as he twisted the round handle to open the door and his senses were finally assaulted heavily. The instant the scents hit his nose, a switch flipped inside him but he clamped down on the reaction.
He slowly walked into the dim room before him.
The windows were normally open to the balcony and letting sunlight in, but the 6 braziers were lit instead and tension filled the silent room.
Lind's Eyes easily saw the changes in the room as several new arrays glowed at him. They came prepared, clearly.
"So–" He got one word out, just one when Qi arrays lit up around his massive bed. He had not chosen the bed, his wives had.
Now, he knew why.
Lind's heart thundered as his blood boiled in his veins. Laying on his bed were all his wives.
They were under the covers and their clothes were strewn across the floor. Weapons were set aside to a wall but only Cyntilla and Shoti had them out. It was how they were.
He slowly raised his eyes and saw the earnest faces of each of them.
Cyntilla was resolute and would not be denied. Shoti was smirking but had the decency to look a little ashamed! Qing was calm but the small smile made my feet want to move forward.
Annabelle was blushing up a storm but did not look away from him.
Lysanna was fidgeting but smiled to see him. She looked tired but happy to be there. Kora looked like she was going to devour him!
Compared to all the rest, however, Ethry was calm on the surface but the connection was now thundering in his skull. She wanted to be entangled with him!
Words failed him. Tears began to fall but no one came to him that time. They understood.
Lind was happy. He was home!
He then made sure the door was secured before he simply shrugged and moved towards them.
He only got 3 steps when Ethry used her tail to snatch him over and a small fight began. It was not vicious but Lind was not going anywhere for a long time.

"Shi or Kin, I wanted to report to the Emperor but no one has seen him for 2 weeks. Do either of you know where he is?" Gravis was now a low Sliver Tier Immortal and wanted to celebrate with Lind.
The moment he asked, both women turned as red as tomatoes.
"W-w-what makes you think we know where he is?!" Shi's voice was very high pitched but Kin simply looked unable to even face him! What was going on?!
Of all people alive, they knew where Lind was at all times.
"Well, set an appointment for me to meet him as soon as he is available." Gravis wanted to know what to do now that he was an Immortal. A she left, his newly heightened senses caught the 2 women talking.
"You go! I am not going to get killed interrupting them!" Shi seemed to know where LInd was but was afraid to go.
"Me?! THe last time I went, that demoness threatened to kill me if I came back!" Gravis slowed as he began to connect the dots.
A knowing smirk began to spread as he tried to contain his aura.
"Be safe in the Promised Land, my Emperor!" Gravis moved off before he could be caught laughing. Lind was so serious lately but it seemed his wives were really good for him after all.
He then smiled as he knew Gail and his children with their families would be coming soon. He whistled as he thought that soon several heirs would be born for their Empire. He wanted to tell Gail as soon as possible!
