Chapter 690 - 689 - Cultivation of Elementals
Chapter 690 - 689 - Cultivation of Elementals
The Elemental man stopped not far from the border of the Desolate song. His features were blurry but much more clear than any of them Lind ever met before.
Lind let him examine him with nothing held back but many questions filled him. How could an Immortal Realm happen inside the Law Binding. The instability was clear but there had been no tribulation nor anything else he had known about, yet an Immortal stood before him.
"I know you." Lind jumped at the strangely androgynous voice. It was like the body was merely a reflection of Lind but it was much broader than his own human body was. Lind tried to recall all the Elementals he met but none matched.
"I apologize but I cannot recall which of you I have met before as you were too ephemeral for me to match an appearance. Your aura is also not familiar to me." The man tilted his head which did not quite follow the move as it stretched out before catching up to the new angle.
Lind found it disorienting but quickly adapted.
"We have never met, Progenitor." He was now confused. How could he be remembered but never met?
Also, an Immortal definitely should have been there when he last visited.
"Then, may I ask how you know me?" Lind was curious what was going on at that point.
"You were there when I shed my last realm before becoming me." Lind was well and truly confused for a moment but then a pulse of Qi came from the dantian and brain areas at once. He saw a flow of all 6 elements circulate and meet in the center of his chest.
His Eyes widened in shock as he realized what he was seeing. A meridian system was being born inside the man's body!
He was literally building it as they spoke one cycle at a time but he saw something else odd. Where a heart was supposed to be, was some kind of complicated structure that seemed to be the true anchor of the Elemental.
Lind suddenly blinked as he felt he was rude.
"I apologize, I did not mean to pry." He tried to bow but a hand blurred up before the man spoke again.
"Pry? You are the Progenitor. Your gifts are yours to use, why apologize?" Lind suddenly felt like something fell into place. The being in front of him was an Immortal but also something stunning. He was a child.
"Um, do you have a name?" Lind started there. "I am Lind Frey."
The man blurred heavily at his question to the point that Lind could see the 3 centers of power inside his body with natural eyes. The brain was like a small storm of Qi but tiny threads made up the body shape that he quickly confirmed matched Lind's own meridian system.
The dantian was a floating circle with a sliver inside of it! He could see it in the flesh without his Talents! The complex figure was a rigid crystal construct he had seen before but as a floating body!
Suddenly, things fell into place as he saw something stunning with his Eyes. The construct was a shifting mass of several elements but at its heart was a grade 7 hardened crystal!
They were corpses of the previous cultivation realm!
Elementals don't only solidify as they progress, but are literally reborn each time!
"I do not have a name as you understand them, Progenitor." Lind was snapped out of his revelation by the man.
"Please feel free to educate me." Lind smiled as the Elemental man seemed to consider before the feeling of Qi increased massively. Lind let it wash over him before a feeling came to him.
"One born in Binding but freed from burden?" Surprise actually passed over the somewhat unstable face and Lind could have sworn he smiled!
"Progenitor is part of the song?" Lind was confused again but then summoned his emerald harmony. The Qi was not flames nor draconic, but simply the glow of emerald as the Elemental man seemed to bathe happily in the light.
"May we discuss the Dao?" Lind saw the man nod and they sat across from each other. Lind confirmed he was right. Elementals cultivate not solely by condensing Qi but through a remarkable process where they shed the realm they were in to create a new heart!
It was the complex crystal heart that solidified their bodies! He was currently advancing so while Lind felt like he was an Immortal it was closer to say he was still being reborn. It was fascinating.
The man retained most of his memories but like his life as a Heaven Realm, it was not always clear. Lind was part of it, thus the man did recall him but Lind had no idea which one he might have been.
Was he the one that came to the Core Hall, or was he one of the many he saw in the secret center of the Desolate Song area?
Lind felt further enlightenment on his own grasp of the elemental Qi in general but he also seemed to help the Elemental man solidify his foundation far faster than normal. Still, it did not progress Lind's true desire, yet he held back.
The young Elemental had brought the current one. He had to hope there was a reason.
"The Dao is the path of all yet it wanders all that can be. Why is that, Progenitor?" Lind found the question rather hard. It was accepted generally that while all Dao were different, they all lead to the Great Dao at the end.
The Elemental man asked a bit of the reverse. Why would the Dao waste time with the other paths if all became one in the end?
He sat back and thought over his own discoveries. Cultivators formed their dantian at the Soul Realm but it was not always predictable what elements they would get. Some followed familial lines but it was not always the case, yet his own existence was an extreme.
Why did cultivators not form all 6 elements until the Heaven Realm and why did the 6 elements have to struggle if they did not grasp the proper balance between their cores?
Lind felt like his mind entered a special state. He began to see the relationship between elemental cores, Arts, various Dao, and everything coming together. He was back in the Relic in the Altair Kingdom and an aura began to emanate from him.
Where before it was only Battlemaster Aura, it now changed. It became far more profound and Lind's skin rippled with emerald scales briefly as he began to understand something important.
The Great Dao was not the end. It was merely a confluence of the minor and major Daos a cultivator grasped to define their foundation. The Laws were the foundation of the Great Dao but he knew there was another step beyond that.
"It is alive as the cultivators that study it." The words came out but a rumble came from above to snap Lind out of his enlightenment. The Dao was alive. It was born in the lesser and major Daos as they combined into Great Daos.
The Elemental smiled at him and Lind understood he was being helped but not in the way expected.
"I am trying to force the Dao to follow the path I want when I need to find the Dao I need?" A nod from the Elemental made Lind feel slightly frustrated but then he realized what was going on.
"I have the Dao of Science?" Again the Elemental nodded and Lind felt all his frustration fall away at all the obstacles.
Of course he could create things that were just science fiction on Earth, he had accidently been evolving a Dao without realizing it. It was also why other cultivators failed to replicate his work.
They simply did not have his Daos.
As if waiting for him to realize it, his mind grasped the fundamental issue he was having and then he felt like his mind was freed up from a problem it had been stuck in!
"Thank you senior." Lind bowed and the Elemental nodded before it stood up and left once more. He gathered up all his material but then had a thought. "Senior?"
The Elemental paused and turned back.
"What are ascension pools?" He truly just wanted to know and again he felt the Elemental smile.
"There are some secrets none can grasp until they are beyond the horizon." Lind felt confused but nodded.
He then flew back towards the Core Hall as he had much to contemplate. His crazy idea was not entirely wrong but it was not something he could do either. Instead, he had to change his goal of the Gate of Heaven.
He almost smiled as it was so clear to him after all the centuries of attempts. He was in such a rush he overlooked a possibility.
Lind began to write out the idea on the scrolls and slips he still had free on him yet it still required a bit of luck to work.
It would all depend on the restriction Laws in the Binding around him, yet he had hope. As he began to run the calculations, he suddenly felt inspired.
How had he overlooked it since the idea had been explained by George so often, yet he had tried to make it equal when that was never required!
Lind smiled as he sped up his flight. He wanted to make the modification and start to test it as soon as possible!
