Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 680 - 679 - Mimicking a Genius is Impossible!

Chapter 680 - 679 - Mimicking a Genius is Impossible!

The area the Moebius Sect chose for its gate was on a mountain overlooking the valley the landmass floated inside.  It allowed the sect to stay mobile but the gate to still be easily reached.

It also was above the clouds and impossible to see any strategic use for it.  The Fiend attacks had also been focused on the sect so their spies and other agents simply ignored anything that was outside of the sect as mere research or resource collection as any group or power would do.

Shoti was currently rubbing her temples as the peak mid grade 6 Forgers tried to explain how they could not pull off what Lind wanted.  It made no sense to them!

While his insights to their breath throughs in Forging were astounding, it took time for them to digest and practice it all.  Forging, though, required the cultivator to understand the concepts they wanted to imbue into the item they were creating.

It was now the roadblock to completing Lind's idea.  The small scale versions were working because the idea of a spatial tear connecting 2 points into 1 was something not only understood but had been experienced by many.

Lind's true idea was beyond them.

After several months of back and forth, Lind sent the small scale version he had created and it worked!  It did not help at all, however.

The concept he infused into the model was beyond them all!  Shoti and the others had tried to figure it out but none of them were Forgers to begin with and even knowing Lind as long as they had did not enlighten them to help explain it.

The request to simply make the small scale physically bigger made all the Forgers stare at her in pity!

They explained it would be like identically comprehending an Art like another cultivator.  While many could produce lightning Arts, the variation of power, bolts, and even shapes changed from person to person.

Some could almost mimic tribulation lightning while others were barely able to make a single bolt at all.  She understood the point but having an example should help them grasp the concept at least, right?

Sadly, she had been around Lind too long.  His ability to study and comprehend nearly impossible things had become too normal for her and others.  His progress in his professions was almost taken for granted but the handful of people in front of her were the only grade 6 Forgers of their sect.

"Is there nothing that can be done?"  She felt so frustrated to be stuck at the last step of the plan for so long.  The stone circle above her was mocking them in that it was the only thing keeping her from being with Lind again.

The handful of men and women discussed among themselves for a while but then perked up.

"Um, Lady Shoti, there is something we have yet to try.  There is a guild in the capital of Jinzi Kingdom.  They have Forgers and elixir masters like us but they are rumored to have several peak grade 6 masters who have honed their craft for millennia."  A young man in silver robes spoke up.

His harmony was rare but leaned towards crafting assistance from all they could perceive.  Shoti frowned as they had no contacts in that kingdom.  It was a high level power and very arrogant.

Neither the Moebius Sect nor Jinzi had come to odds but the few encounters had been…irritating.  Still, she did not need to deal with the elites of that kingdom specifically.

"What guild?"  She was not one to focus on the mercantile matters, but Lysanna likely had all the information.  It would help to narrow the search but she saw the young man frown at her question.

"Unfortunately, I only know they exist.  Our requests to cooperate on the defenses were ignored.  In fact, anything with the war effort I have yet to see an example of their work unless it is in the direct possession of one of their cultivators."  The others nodded and Shoti felt a headache coming on.

She left the mountain as they continued to study the small scale artifact in the hopes they could have a breakthrough.

"Not a chance in Hell."  Lysanna looked exhausted but firm.  Shoti was technically her senior as she was a mid Sun Tier while Lysanna was only a low Sun Tier but in the current stance, Shoti was on the lower rung.

"Lys, we have to try.  Our guys are good but trying to unravel the secrets of Lind's mind is beyond them.  If he was here or able to hold a class, maybe they could get a variation of it, but we need the EXACT replication of his intent."  Shoti did not back down but Lysanna's aura only flared higher.

They had their backs to a wall.  The Fiends clearly knew Lind was trying to return and wanted to burn that path away.  The focus on their sect likely included vengeance but things had actually made it so the Alliance could wound them fairly badly until the Fiends returned true to form!

The recent vicious battle had shifted things slightly back into the favor of the Fiends but Moebius Sect had worked without rest to mitigate the devastation.  As such, those that might have to abandon bodies or simply be cripples were now on the mend.

The new defenses were taken heavily from their cultivators working hard to increase and strengthen them with their own or other donated resources.

Lysanna had reached out long ago to those guilds, sects, and other powers that had manpower to spare.  While some had been more than helpful, others disdained to even answer her.

Jinzi Kingdom was one of those.  She had not been arrogant, only asked for bodies to help speed up the shoring up of the new defensive line, yet her outstretched hand had been ignored.

Further, it was not the first time they had ignored her requests.  Over the last thousand years, she had worked with many powers either from their requests or her own to a decent network of trade and support.

Jinzi only made demands and with impossible deadlines yet seemed actually angry when the Moebius Sect pulled them off.  Still, she knew they were trying to make a trade alliance to suppress the Moebius Sect's rise.

It had all come to nothing after the recent battle made the sect indispensable to all of the Alliance.

"There are other Forging groups–"  Lysanna was about to offer alternatives when Shoti's violet eyes became firm.

"Do any of them have a confirmed peak grade 6 Forging master?"  Her question made Lysanna close her mouth.  It was the problem, sadly, that the more powerful experts were associated with stronger powers than themselves.

"Even if they were willing to talk to us, you have not dealt with them before.  They are also stronger than us martially by sheer numbers.  We may be starting to get 6 elemental Sun Tiers but they are still few and far between."  Shoti nodded as the aether beast segment of their numbers made up the majority of their Sun Tiers but the demons were not far behind.

Even so, even with all the Sun Tiers combined, they were only considered a mid level power.  They needed an Immortal Realm to become the peak of mid level powers and then at least 5 Immortals to become a high level power.  Supreme powers had at least 15 Immortals but not all were active.

Still, the power was there.

Moebius Sect was far from that possibility for at least a thousand years and the higher powers knew it.  They also had a good reason to suppress a rising power as resources were not infinite.

Elixirs and weaving saved the Moebius Sect a lot of issues due to their lower consumption of resources but Forging was just as heavy as any refining.  The other standard professions were as resource intensive as anyone else.

It meant the Moebius Sect was expected to become a resource sink that took away from others but the odd thing they all noticed was that as time passed, the sect only requested certain high level grade 6 items and little else as the centuries moved on.

Lind's Seeds were ingenious and flourished even better in the Heaven Realm than they did in the mortal realm.

Once a cycle was set up, it merely had to be expanded and use patience with prudence to nurture an artificial source into a natural one!  It took nearly a thousand years to get the cycle going but the fruit of it was obvious.

Still, the Seeds had severe limits.  They could only be harvested at certain times and then left to restore themselves so trade was essential to expand.

"We have no choice, Lys.  Lind is simply too far beyond even with an example in front of them.  He already told us he was low grade 7.  It is possible we might need one of those and those powers are all we have got to ask."  Lysanna wished the Heavenly Maiden Sect or Divine Sword Sect were not so martial focused in the Heaven Realm.

They supported alchemists and others but only to the extent of what they needed.  Jinzi Kingdom was like them, a support slanted power that now had a long history to propel their experts up to the heights Moebius Sect had yet to reach.

Shoti was right but how were they going to even get a response from them?  The guild was tightly controlled by the nobles and elites of their Kingdom and further, they had deep ties to the foundation of the kingdom itself.

It would not be wrong to say the guilds held more power than the royal family in many regards.

"Tell them I am willing to give them materials from a Divine Dragon."  A new voice made both Shoti and Lysanna jump.  They slowly turned to see Ethry with her prismatic hair and pale skin looking as starkly beautiful as always.

Despite having to work on all 6 elements, she was nearing the peak of the Sun Tier.  Aether beasts just had too big of an advantage over cultivators in the regards to speed plus her race memory helped her accelerate her cultivation.

"Ethry, we can't trust them if we open that door.  They have Immortals but no one knows what they are.  If they want, they could rip you to pieces."  Lysanna was not exaggerating.  Once Ethry was dead, no one could bring her back and they would strip her for precious parts.

It would be war but the Alliance would not let it rip them apart.  Lysanna could already hear the placating words that would be used to console them but she knew it would not matter.

If Ethry died, the Alliance would follow when Lind returned.  He would raze it to the ground!

"That is why I will give it only to an envoy, sealed in caskets.  They will tell us what they want in exchange for meeting an expert to examine the small scale gate Lind sent.  I will never leave the sect."  Her rage at stepping back was clear but it showed how much care she had put into her suggestion.

Both women bowed low as it was their best shot.  Dragon parts were highly sought after but only suicidal idiots tried to get them while the Alliance stood.  A dragon walking into a sect was asking for death but a power hunting them with Fiends knocking at the door was asking for a power to die instead.

Trade was a compromise even Jinzi would accept.  Lysanna drew up plans and Ethry prepared herself.  It would not be cheap, she was sure, but then Shoti threw a lifeline.

"The artifact Lind sent, it is low grade 7.  The Forgers confirmed it is beyond them but a visiting appraiser from the Maidens certified it has Law traces in it."  That made Lysanna freeze as a smile stretched over her face.  It would work!  The 2 ideas would be too enticing!

The 3 began to plan and hoped the final step could be completed soon.
