Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 623 - 622 - Legendary Horror

Chapter 623 - 622 - Legendary Horror

Demons were a strange bunch of cultivators in several aspects.  They could be incredibly brutal and merciless fighters but also obsess over their version of honor to the point they left themselves vulnerable.

One thing they did have in common, however, was their bloodlust.  Once it got to a point, without proper experience and discipline, it could override their survival instincts.  Still, they were easily defeating Star Tiers and Moon Tiers like they were only Sky Realms.

While some of them were at the Star Tier as well, they had only begun that journey in the last 15 years.

The blood rained from the sky and stained the stone and earth equally.  They were unstoppable and began to spread out from each other.

The commander in charge was just as lost to their bloodlust before the air changed.

"It seems you all have truly forgotten what it is like to face my kind.  It is time you remembered."  The air changed and the demonic Qi in their bodies actually began to squirm.  They had never felt anything like it when the ash gray man appeared in front of them.

His white hair was tied back and his fine silk robes seemed closer to a naive noble than a real cultivator, but some base instinct from the dawn of demonic bloodlines warned them to not take the man lightly.

Based on description, it was the Fiend.  He was supposed to be at the Sun Tier but hadn't all the rest fallen so easily?

It was at that moment that their lives came to an end.

Sickly tendrils snapped out but unlike any Soulmancer, these were lightning quick and the world seemed to whither wherever they went.  The demons never stood a chance as their souls and cultivation were ripped from their bodies with no chance to resist.

Timat did not even have to move as he absorbed their lifeforce to add to his own.  He could not advance to the Immortal Realm but he could extend his life massively.  He smiled as he could vent some of his frustration and rage in one go.

"So weak but enough of you are here to make it worth my while."  His dark laugh sent shivers down the few survivors' spines but their bodies were weakened and the Qi was not flowing correctly.

They only got a few more breaths when Timat took a deep breath and their souls were pulled directly from their bodies.

"Ah, that hits the spot!"  Timat had been so bored lately.  He spread his senses and noticed a few other reckless fools breaking his toys.  He did not like that but he could not find what he was looking for either.

His target seemed to be hiding in its human skin once more.  He had not seen it so he would have to draw it out.

"Time for a massacre!"  Timat drew out a massive glaive that seemed to dim the world.  "It had been so long since we worked together, Abyssal Tear.  Let us dance once more in blood!"

The glaive seemed to cut the very beams of sunlight in the air.  Timat seemed to vanish from his current position surrounded by withered lumps of flesh.

Screams and terror flooded the world as Timat unleashed his full power.  The glaive seemed to sever all things and yank the souls straight out of anyone it even grazed.

A dark laugh came from it as a twisted feeling of joy came over any that saw it.  The glaive was alive!

All could only watch in horror as their once massive force was easily dwindled down to shreds in less than half a day.

All the old legends came back to them about the Fiends and the fearsome power they once inflicted on the land.  Many had grown up with the legends as simple stories that were meant to scare children into obeying their parents.

Now, they all knew those stories were far too timid compared to the reality.

Timat was a reaper on the battlefield that none could stop.  Any attempt made them see their flesh wither as well as their souls be pulled from their still living bodies.

None could stand up to him.

"Burn it all!"  Keera screamed as cold flame burst from her.  She could think of nothing else but even her Qi connected her to the weapon in the Fiend's hands.  She felt the danger but it was too late to stop it.

"You will all become part of my glorious future!"  Keera snarled in defiance but then an emerald sword blade shattered the connection to her.  A man in dark crimson robes stood in front of her.

His black hair streaked with emerald never looked so good to her before.  At that very moment as cracked earth, death, and flickering cold flames were all around him, Lind Frey made her heart flutter for real.

She slowly collapsed but Sheena caught her.

"We have no place in this battle.  Pull them back and we will focus on what we can kill."  Timat narrowed his disturbing eyes at the muscled woman but he slowly turned back to Lind as he recognized the coloring of the human in front of him.

"So, it is you.  You are the dragon.  You will pay for what you have done."  Lind sneered at Timat.  He could feel the pressure but the weapon was what drew his eye.

For the first time since coming to the 6 empires, he saw a true work of art.  It was a peak Heaven grade 6 weapon!  He could feel the spirit dancing in joy as it was covered in blood.

Lind did not waste words as Protean transformed into a spear.  He then began to dance quickly across the battlefield as if nothing else was going on.  He could not let Timat gather momentum with that glaive.

Timat sneered and struck with his void based weapon lethally but all were shocked as the black blade none could even slow down was deflected by the emerald spear blade!

"SPIRIT WEAPON!"  Timat roared as he struck even faster.  Lind pushed his harmony moon hard as Qi drained like a waterfall from his dantian!  Timat was laughing as it was clear he was overpowering the man that ruined all his plans.

"You will suffer for billions of years in the dark!  I will slowly extrude your soul into my dantian and enjoy the wails of your regrets!"  Timat kept shouting but Lind said nothing as he focused fully on keeping the glaive away from him.

He felt truly threatened by it more than Timat himself!

Protean suddenly shifted and formed like a giant shuriken!  There were 4 massive blades spinning as it left his hands and flew like a magnet to Timat.

The Fiend was caught off guard but Lind did not miss his moment.  Emerald flames shot from his mouth, burning his throat since he was still human, to slam into Timat's stomach area.

Flesh sizzled and Timat actually stumbled back as if struck by a heavy blow but Lind frowned in frustration.  It was far from enough.  Was a Sun Tier truly so powerful?

"So…you can hurt us.  You must die!"  Timat quickly recovered but Lind noticed he was slower.  There was no time to fully transform but Lind made his arms become covered in emerald scales as he caught the glaive in mid swing.

He only touched the haft which was still feeling dangerous, yet his scales held up.  That time, true shock flared on Timat's face.

"HOW?!  Your soul should be mine!"  Lind understood he was looking at a combination weapon and tool in one.  He could feel its functions and abilities but he only noted it down before he used all he had left on the spirit weapon.

A scream straight from hell filled the air and caused all ears to bleed in range of it.  Lind and Timat were no exceptions.  The Fiend stumbled once more, but Lind simply powered through as his claws shredded the flesh of Timat.

The Fiend was not so easy to kill.

He moved back and summoned a pill that quickly worked to heal him.  Lind barely noted his first Fiend pill and kept attacking.  He could not let up if he wanted to survive.

They kept exchanging blows over and over.  Blood began to fly in the air from them both yet neither gave in.  Lind was purely running on stamina and the dregs of Qi in his dantain.

Lind was bleeding from a bunch of small to medium injuries and was covered in sweat but did not give up.  Timat had become enraged.

He kept pushing to claim his prize but was repelled or simply could not land the critical hit.  Even his Sun Tier Arts could not touch Lind.

Timat roared as he slammed the shaft into Lind's ribs at last to hear an audible crack.

"You should have laid low for another century and you would have been a threat to me, but as you are, just an ant!"  Timat lorded his soon to be victory over Lind.  Lind was barely standing as he used Protean to stay upright.

"Something you forgot."  Lind finally spoke and Timat sneered at the obvious delay to stay alive.  Still, it had been an enjoyable fight.

"And what is that exactly?"  Lind slowly looked up and the smile on his face sent chills down Timat's spine.  He prepared to attack but Lind simply smirked more before speaking.

"I am not relying on my strength to kill you, but my empire."  Timat was confused until the sky shimmered.  His eyes shot up as a threat suddenly came over him.

He was in danger!

"Too late to run, bastard.  Go to Hell!"  Lind shouted as the false sky collapsed, revealing the Inner Garden to the Law Binding.

The reaction was instantaneous as pure white beams slammed into Timat's body.  He was ripped apart slowly as his eyes looked in rage at Lind.

"If I die, so do you!"  The glaive whipped at Lind but he simply bent in half in no way a human could.  It was only at that moment that Timat recalled he was facing not a human but a dragon!

"DAMN Y–"  Timat was screaming when a massive pillar of light finally slammed into him and tore him apart!

"An Immortal is far more efficient than I at killing a Sun Tier."  Lind nearly fell before a demoness suddenly appeared next to him.

"Please let me help you, my beloved."  Keera's words did what he had not felt in the whole battle against Timat.  Fear, true terror flooded his body.

"I must refuse your advances, Keera.  I am both an Emperor and husband already."  She did not seem fussed as she smiled and carried him away from the scorched ground in front of him.

The war waged on.  The Fiend was dead, but their enemies were still in far greater numbers.

"Gravis, the Fiend is dead.  Go to the next phase."  Lind gave an order and then assumed a lotus position to recover as Keera with the few survivors watched over him.  Any lack of respect the demons had for him was wiped away.

The legend of Fiends had met a new legend.  The Emperor Lind Frey was a Fiend Killer.  His legend was born at that moment and began to spread.  The war for Orwellia moved to the next phase as Lind recovered.  His role was not done.
