Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 591 - 590 - Primary vs Secondary Elements

Chapter 591 - 590 - Primary vs Secondary Elements

Lanbao was shocked!

Lind was showing his dantian so freely?!  No cultivator would do so recklessly but then her eyes narrowed as she brought her face closer.  Why was his moon an emerald color that matched his eyes and streaks in his hair?

It was also the color of his dragon body.

Why?

Her eyes glowed but shock flooded her!  He had 6 primary elements?!  His moon also was composed of Qi she did not recognize at all!

Of course he could show it off!  No one would understand it but him!

"What are you?"  Lind nearly laughed at the enormity of the question as he dispersed his weaving.

"I am a 6 elemental…"  Lind began to talk.  He skipped his personal battles but stuck to the highlights.  She was shocked and stunned as he described things she knew to be impossible.

She also felt her own dantian stir as he spoke on elemental theory!  How?!  She was an Immortal?!

If it had been simply through the Sky Realm, she could believe it.  The struggle of 6 elementals in the mortal realms were known to her.  Many experts and powers had tried to solve it with middling success.

It had never occurred to them, however, that their fundamental understanding was the issue.  It worked for 99% of cultivators so how could it be wrong?

"WAIT!"  Lanbao suddenly stopped him when he spoke of his ascension into the Heaven Realm.  "What do you mean you skipped the Star Tier straight to Moon Tier?!"

Aether beasts had cores until the Heaven Realm.  Then, like cultivators, they shattered their core to make the star field the same as them.  The difference being when they died, the dantian was still a core.

It was simply full of stars rather than a solid chunk of elemental Qi.

On top of everything he had said, however, it was the fact that all the Arts, skills, and even cultivation techniques were personalized despite sharing names.  The harmony each of them had seemed to vastly affect their results compared to other cultivators.

Meteor Fist, for instance, was the same result with every earth and air cultivator but the same Art in a 6 elemental could produce barely any force to devastating force solely depending on these harmonies according to Lind.

Their own Arts were more consistent but still had some issues due to that.

"I cannot be certain but I think since we already have all 6 elements, the Star Tier is redundant to us."  Lind shrugged.  He had only spent seconds in the Star Tier before becoming a Moon Tier.  He had recorded all he could remember onto a few jade slips.

Lanbao felt like the world had been turned upside down and Lind just sat there like nothing big had happened!

If she could be in human form, she would be rubbing her temples as she glared at him!

"I can only take your word for it, but it would explain the troubles you are having.  Sadly, I cannot help you with a technique.  While there are many I have heard of, I do not know the details but it is safe to say none would work for you."  Lind tilted his head at her answer.

She then summoned her elements.

Water, air, and darkness were very bright but light, fire, and earth were dimmer, yet all were in harmony.  Lind saw some issues here or there but the Immortal quality left him unsure if he could advise anything.

"Primary elements still dictate most Arts and skills for anyone, but they now incorporate the missing elements added in.  Secondary elements are always weaker but add support to Arts and skills to make them more powerful."  Lind nodded as he had long known that.

The many aether beasts he had worked with and helped progress as well as others from his sect had taught him many things.

Cyntilla often relied on her poison and acid elements when using her Wolf Fang Sword Art.  When she reached the Heaven Realm, she had to adapt the others into it, but it only made them stronger.

A flaming poison sword was no joke.

The name of the Art did not change, it merely incorporated several combinations of elements there were not possible for her before.

Still, he got a better grasp now that he was in the Heaven Realm for over a decade.  It was not as simple as balancing the elements nor as complicated as his original path of cultivation.

The Heaven Realms already had a rich experience of their own elements and facing others.  Incorporating new elements was relatively easy but he now saw that they could only be supportive to their pre-existing Arts.

In other words, they never treated the secondary elements as important!

He had helped so many incorporate elements but he never really noticed how no one changed their Arts that much!

Only his wives made such an effort to stunning results.

Lind also realized his other problem.

"Primary elements are much harder to cultivate than secondary."  Lanbao nodded.

The reason he struggled to progress was the flip side of not needing the Star Tier.  Primary elements were like the major arteries while the secondary elements were the very fine veins in a body.

Blood flowed through all but comparing the 2 volumes were night and day!

So 6 elementals had far more Qi but it also took them a lot longer to progress their Moon Tier.

He suspected Sun Tier would be just as difficult.

It made him also confirm that he would still have to figure out his way forward as always.  There were no 6 primary cultivation techniques.

A tired sigh came from deep within his soul.  There was still no simple way forward for his kind.

"May I ask a question?"  Lanbao suddenly spoke up and Lind waved her on.

"Why do you cultivate like a human?"  Her question confused him.  How else was he supposed to cultivate exactly?!

He was about to shout when his mind realized why she was confused.  In fact he was confused too.

He had read up on other dragon souls and even a few phoenix souls.  While they all started out human, eventually their new soul transformed their bodies.  Some did continue to cultivate for a time as humans but even their dantian and meridians conformed.

He had noted that as one progressed, the more they transformed as well.

He did not.

In fact, he had to initiate his transformation into a dragon that he could only endure for a time.  The time extended and his human form became stronger, faster, and far more difficult to injure, but he remained human.

Why?

If he fully transformed, many of his issues would vanish.  He would in fact catch up to Ethry very quickly and surpass her.  A progenitor was much more profound than a Divine Dragon alone.

"I–I don't know.  I never questioned it before ever since it started in the World Realm."  Lind had been rebuilt by that experience into what he was today.  So why did he still retain his human form when the Heaven Realm ascendance should have completely left his humanity behind.

[If I may speak, master]

A voice suddenly entered his head he had not heard in a long time.

"Spirit, you are back?"  He had ordered it to revert its access so long ago and the price had been high, yet now it was back.

A flash from his ring surprised Lanbao but she felt a kinship with the spirit on sight.

The green scale robes and dark skin still looked far more real than the rest of the world.  A Divine Spirit!

"The Heaven Realm is very good for my recovery and your battles have been helpful in karmic restitution as a Divine Dragon."  Lind was stunned.  His karma helped his ring?  "I do not have much time to manifest but I can answer the flood dragon's question."

The spirit looked up but Lind had the distinct impression Lanbao was an ant to the spirit.

"My master is unlike my previous wielders.  Heaven and Earth did not simply choose him for a dragon soul, but as *******"  Lind felt his head nearly split open.  Neither Lanbao nor the spirit reacted so Lind knew what happened.

"A little consideration, please."  The spirit smiled but bowed.

"Apologies, Master, I thought you could withstand it."  Lind was about to give him a piece of his mind when he vanished back into the ring.

"Convenient retreat if I ever saw it.  Lanbao, I–"  Lind was about to ask more questions when he noticed a change.  Her azure eyes were staring at him in awe.

She had always been respectful, but now it changed.

"I apologize, but I must return to my waters.  Forgive me!"  She suddenly retreated back underwater but there was still time.  What was going on?!  What were the words he could not grasp yet?!

Why did no one ever explain what was going on and just leave?!

Lind sighed and figured he would not get an answer anymore than he had.  He had gained a lot and knew he had to focus on his cultivation for a time as he would have little time for anything else.

He had a new Empire to run.  Lind bowed and flew off to head back to the Two Rivers Empire.

Lanbao shivered in the depths.  Impossible, it was simply impossible.  There had not been one for so long that the clans had fractured and a human was chosen?!

She had long given up any hope of moving forward due to the cataclysm and her being stuck in a Law Binding, but if Heaven and Earth chose a new one.

The Celestial Fields were still there!  There was something still up there!

Dragons cannot cry in their natural state but her eyes would be watering in joy if they could.  Hope sprung  again in her old heart that not all was lost!  She also affirmed to herself that she would watch over the boy so long as she could.

No harm must come to him!  She had to break free!
