Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 552 - 551 - Falling to Heaven

Chapter 552 - 551 - Falling to Heaven

There was a large mass of land with floating crystals.  It was very dense with Qi but void of many forms of life.  A few simple beasts lived in the Desolate Song as the wind made the sound of a voice as it went through the floating elemental crystals of the crystal desert.

It was worthless to Fiends and cultivators alike as the crystals were not grade 6 but grade 4 as the Qi was very thin there.  The only thing that made it somewhat interesting was that all 6 elements of normal cultivators could be found there.

It was stunning to the few World Realm bests when the sky tore open and an emerald meteor came screaming out of it!

None of them had time to react as several crystals were shattered and then it impacted into the shining crystal sands!

The plume of white smoke rose into the sky as a human slowly sat up and took in his surroundings.

"Where am I?"  Lind saw no people and only World Realm beasts were around him.  Further, the Qi density was rather low to be of use to him.  He examined his body and found faint streams of all 6 elements flowing into the emerald moon at his dantian's center.

He also noticed his moon had a sinuous dragon carved into its surface around the craters.

His body was far stronger and he vaguely recalled his departure in a fog.  He had gone to the lower world?!

How?!

It was as if his memory was not allowed to recall that part of his ascension clearly.  He stretched his senses out for over 1000 kilometers but there was no cultivator in range nor an aether beast of anything more than Gold Tier.

He tried to fly and found he could not!

Moon Tiers could not fly?!  How was that fair?

He then slowly walked out of the crater he was in and tried to sense Ethry.  She was bonded to him and should be easy to reach out to but it was very faint.  How far was he from her?!

He looked to the south east and thought she was that way but it was so weak as to be nothing.

He knew the Heaven Realm lands were large but to feel so weak it could hold thousands of his mortal realm to make that kind of distance.

"Whelp, might as well get moving."  Lind locked in on her direction and began to move that way.  He could only move on foot but he felt like he could never tire.  The beasts also avoided him as he was far above them!

He observed the strange floating crystals and was stunned to see all 6 kinds of Qi in them!  It was not simply fire crystals and light crystals, but crystals with all 6 elements in them!  He stepped closer to a floating crystal at his height.

It was only grade 4 but he saw no signs of lightning anywhere around him.  He then noticed the sparkle of the sand and realized it was more crystals!

The crushed crystals were the ones destroyed by tribulation!

What was all that for?

He put his hand against the crystal and frowned.  It felt wrong to him.  Not bad, just not correct.  It was as if the elements inside were in disharmony.

The floating was a result of some kind of repulsion to the ground rather than using air or light to float.  He stretched his senses but did not find the cause or anything else but he did feel like he was being watched.

He could not place why but the sad tones the wind made almost caused tears to form.

"Sorry, I was just curious."  He then bowed as something told him he should be polite.  The feeling of being watched actually vanished at that moment and he wondered who it was.

He kept heading out as he could dimly make out what seemed to be trees in the distance.  The temperature was not comfortable but it was not hurting him.  He was looking up that sky to gauge the time of day when he felt true shock.

There was no sun!

It was bright out and he could see a fair distance but aside from the intensity, there was no sun at all.  Where was the light coming from?

More and more questions kept forming but Lind had no answers.  He also tried to use several Arts but they all failed.  So he could not fly, nor could he even use any skill he had learned thus far.

The jump from Sky Realm to Moon Tier was too much.  The concept behind those Arts was too low to work with his current state.  He also did not fully grasp what he had to do next.  Did he make the moon bigger or simply increase its quality?  How did he reach the Sun Tier?

There were no answers but Lind shrugged and was about to keep walking when he slapped his forehead.  His robes were in tatters thanks to the tribulation so he needed to at least dress properly.

Thankfully, his ring worked perfectly fine.  He even felt the spirit in it for the first time.  It seemed proud of him if he was interpreting things correctly.  His peak Heaven grade 5 robes seemed dull compared to the world around him, but were far better than the rags he had left.

He put on the new robes and stored away the old ones.  No need to litter, after all.  He also felt like it would be disrespectful for some reason.

That felt odd.  It was like he was getting information from somewhere but not quite grasping where.  It was more than instinct too.  He was used to his dragon soul reacting on instinct and either incorporating it or curtailing it as he wanted.

That made him wonder something and he tried to use his harmony.  The moon flared in his dantian and emerald flames easily appeared but were far bigger than intended!  He could not control it at all!

He quickly dismissed it and frowned as he saw his robes were gone!  He was buck naked!

There was not a mark on his body but his robes could no longer withstand his harmony at all!  He summoned yet another set of robes but that time he felt distinct amusement from the ring.

"It is not funny!  How am I expected to cultivate if I cannot control my own Qi?"  It was something he had to give serious thought as other 6 elementals would have similar problems.  All he had given them was his comprehension for ascending, he had no knowledge of what came after.

Lind then felt very dumb.  He had another method to fly that needed no Qi at all.

He let himself feel his dragon soul and recalled the feeling of flight.  He finally felt the ground drop away but when he opened his eyes, he was shooting up like a rocket!  It was far faster than he intended!

It felt fantastic but he had to bring it under control!  He tried putting the brake on his speed but instead felt his stomach jump into his throat as he began to free fall!

Why was there no inbetween?!

He resumed flying like a rocket as it was preferable to crashing but the land was getting smaller and smaller until he saw a vast vista of land that stretched to the horizon!

He felt in awe as he saw there were still clouds but it was all Qi that moved them.  His Eyes finally could see all kinds of Heavenly Qi clearly and he was enjoying it.

The land had no seas or oceans he could make out but it was so large the entirety of both mortal realms he had been to could fit in a tiny pocket of it.

He took in all he could but no landmarks stood out.  He had only briefly visited before but they had set up regular contact with his wives and the new branch they were building up there.

"Where am I?"  Lind spoke out loud then slammed into something hard.  He definitely heard some bones crack but at least he stopped rising out of control.  He was splayed out looking down from what had to be at least 5000 kilometers up!

It was a vast stretch of sky but he could see nothing beyond the shimmer of blue above him.  He felt it was much farther away but what was stopping him was not Qi, but something much more powerful.

Laws.

He knew Laws came into cultivation at the end of the Heaven Realm but it was his first time really feeling the edge of one.  It was like an absolute restriction that could not be broken if it was not understood.

He did not know what Law it was but he could make some guesses.

"The flight of beasts can only take them so far until the limit of the realm.  It is the Law of Immortals."  He had zero idea what that all entailed but he knew the power of the Law in front of him felt similar to Delenn and the 3 dragons he had met.

They could likely pass right through it and not even pause.

Lind felt his body heal, blessedly normally after the disaster of everything else that had happened to him, and contemplated his condition.  Unlike in the World or Sky Realms, he hardly felt any strain on his soul to fly but his control was abysmal.

Several attempts later he still could only free fall or slam back into the Law restriction.

"Only one way down, isn't there?"  Lind sighed as he began to grow nearly 7 meters tall.  His form was much closer to his soul projection but retained some human features in his legs and arms.

He looked somewhat like a tall human with scales and a snout with a tail.  He now could see a little farther but still nothing he recognized.  He then let go and began falling once more.

It was not unpleasant but he kept looking as the ground grew closer at an alarming rate.  Just as he was nearing the treeline, he was yanked back up by his own ability.

Unlike before, his body absorbed the sharp change in direction but then Lind let it go as he fell from the massive tree height of 3 kilometers and smashed into the ground.

He had not even spent a day in the Heaven Realm and left 2 craters already!  Also, he had now ruined 3 sets of robes!  He was about to get up when a sword suddenly appeared at his neck.

He looked slowly up to see a heavily tanned man with a few days of beard growth looking sternly at him.  The clothes he wore were mostly leather armor and some chainmail.

"What are you?  Answer, or die!"  The gruff voice matched the violence filled blue eyes as Lind was actually afraid to move.  Not because of the sword, he doubted it would scratch him, but because he could not control his strength.

He was about to answer when a roar filled the air and the man quickly turned and fled.  Lind only had a moment to process the swift change when his nose was filled with a scent he recognized.

It was the scent of death!
