Chapter 549 - 548 - You Know What They Say About Assumptions?

Chapter 549 - 548 - You Know What They Say About Assumptions?

Another 50 years had passed but Lind had made no further progress.  He had completely cratered the area he chose to isolate himself but he also began examining willing elders to see various combinations of elements for Star Tier.

In that same time, Ilyria advance explosively to the Moon Tier but did not leave.  She still had much to learn from Lind about weaving as well as she was reluctant to do so.  She did finally mature into an adult human body, but her natural state was massive.

Like her mother, she would cover the entirety of an island if she reverted to her beast shape.

Lind told her it was fine but she worried about him.  He was her only family left and had done so much but she could do nothing in return.  Still, she simply polished her foundation and was ready at any time.

Lind met some other envoys over the years and some let him read materials about the Star Tier yet nothing helped.

Some 6 elementals had felt like they were very close but still held up.  None could figure it out and it was driving them mad.

There was nowhere for Lind to go either to explore or experience more than he had.  He was surrounded by various qualities of Star Tiers and many willingly gave him information or allowed him to explore what it was to be one of them.

He had as much information as one could hope to have, but it was not enough.

It was not a question of the elements and not even the harmony anymore, but about the relationship between the 2 and nothing could help him with that.

"We have requests to expand the next competition to narrow to individual professions."  One of the Saisei City Elders was reporting on the next contest.  Lind looked at the information and nodded.

"For the grade 3 and peak mortal grade rounds that is fine but Heaven Grade remains limited.  We might separate the Elixir masters and alchemists as they dominate too much but the rest do note even come to a third of their total."  All at the meeting nodded at his words but some could see he was distracted.

It was no secret his focus was at breaking through yet none could deny his distraction.  They all felt it back then themselves.

The man leading the meeting made it possible for over ⅔ of them to become Star Tiers long before they could do it on their own.

"Master Frey, there are also requests about expanding Saisei City again."  A woman spoke up from the main sect and Lind smiled at her.

"Of course we can expand a bit but they assume things will continue as they have for the last 250 years.  That is short sighted.  Eventually, the contest will become about each field and the best of each as well.  Things will be able to expand a little but not as much as these merchants dream of."  Lind had seen the requests and reports.

Resources were falling like a storm still, but he knew it was only the beginning.  Some areas could expand as Saisei City had become a pinnacle of production powers.  Aside from the Moebius Sect, no other sect could lay claim, but many guilds had taken over areas of their own.

They all raked in massive profits but it would come to a halt sooner than later.  Lind strictly controlled that as he could see the need to expand a bit but not to the point the merchant guilds wanted.

They would run out of funds for the construction long before it would be done if they did that.

"Still, the offers are tempting."  She was saying their words might fall on deaf ears and he nodded at it.

"If they want to front the cost of an expansion, they are welcome to it but they will also accept the responsibility if it falls through."  She nodded at his words and the other elders felt relieved.

Moebius Sect would not suffer that way and the city would continue to thrive as well.

"It is a pity we cannot just skip to the end of the current competition to see the results on the economy."  Lind laughed with a few others before he froze.

Few noticed but Kexin was among them.  She was confused as Lind slowly stood up and brought silence to the room.

"Skip to the end?  So simple?  No, maybe, no!"  He was clearly talking about something else yet some felt their heart rates pick up as they saw his eyes glow!  It meant he was looking at the Qi intensely as they saw elements condense in his hands.

They saw the arrangement of all 6  as they would be in the dantian but something felt odd from his arrangement.

The meeting no longer mattered as Lind suddenly started weaving right there but it was all for the floating Qi arrangement he had created.  It condensed and changed shape but no one understood what he was doing.

"Incredible but difficult.  Would it work?  Maybe, maybe not.  Yes, yes, I see."  He was mumbling but Kexin smiled wide.  He was onto something and she felt it.

He had been stuck for nearly 150 years but something in their meeting had set him off.

She was about to dismiss the elders when they jumped at his shout.

"OF COURSE!  I am so stupid.  I assumed we had to follow the same path but we never have.  It always looked the same after the World Realm but…"  He then looked up and saw all the elders staring at him

"Ah, yes, we were in a meeting."  He looked guilty but they all waved it off.

"Did you figure out how to break through?"  Kexin asked the question but he shook his head immediately.

"No, I think I did better, but it will take some serious thought and preparation.  I have to test this or it could go very badly."  Lind then bowed and left the room like the wind.  All smiled as it showed he was still the pure pursuer of knowledge.

Lind swept down the halls and arrived at his tower as his mind exploded.

He had realized the assumptions of the merchants were the same as his own.  Cultivation was all about assumption!

Everyone had assumed how elements interacted because it worked but he had proven it was flawed.  He had fallen into the same trap when it came to the realms.

He kept trying to break through to the Star Tier because it was the next step but he also did not consider the point of the Star Tier.

It was the tier that Heaven Realms used to add their secondary elements, the elements they never had before, to then consolidate the Moon Tier with all 6 elements in the new balance.  After that the Sun Tier was a qualitative step to increase the refinement of their Qi as well.

The problem had been assumed to be the 6 elemental harmony unique to them but he was wrong, they were all wrong!

They assumed it needed to be accommodated in the Star Tier but it did not!

"Our harmony is already the consolidation of our elements!"  It was the error he had made, that they all had.  They all assumed harmonies needed an equivalent step in Star Tier when in reality, they were for the Moon Tier!

The Star Tier was useless to 6 elementals!

They still had to shatter their core and then swiftly condense it into their harmony.  He felt it was true but it was extremely risky.  Shattering the core was dangerous, but to skip straight to the Moon Tier had never been done.

Ethry had been the fastest, but even she took the time to polish her foundation before reaching that tier.

Lind arrived at the crater he had created but rather than himself, he created a pseudo dantian with his harmony using his Heaven Touch.  Despite all he had done, he was firmly stuck at Heaven grade talents.

He knew his instinct was his Innate Cultivator Talent clicking into place.  It seemed pointless but it was still there helping him.  Without it, he suspected he would have struggled much more than he already had.

The fake dantian reached a critical point and shattered but then had fatal loss of control as Qi went everywhere.  His eyes narrowed as he saw a real danger to his own dantian.  He took extensive notes as he began to experiment more yet the total loss of control kept happening at the critical step.

Shattering the core was relatively easy but condensing so quickly was near suicide.

"I can't do this in a vacuum.  Theory is not enough."  Lind spoke out loud but simply because he was used to it.  He got an unexpected response.

"You could watch me do it."  Lind whirled to see Ilyria standing behind him.  He had no idea when she arrived, he had been so focused on his task, but he saw the serious look on her face.

"You know ascension to Moon Tier here will send you somewhere possibly dangerous up there?"  She nodded but he had to admit it would help to see her ascend.  Still, he was not reckless.

"Let me inform the others and prepare a space.  I want you safe."  She smiled warmly at him as he summoned a jade communication stone and discussed the best place for her to ascend.

She could finally return the favor to Lind in some way and help her Uncle at the same time.  She also helped him get an idea of what she would need as she would likely revert to her natural state when she ascended.

They discussed it well into the night but it was more than just her ascension as Lind had to study it as best as possible.  He was unlikely to get many volunteers for it since there was not a small chance of being dropped into the middle of Fiends ascending that way!

Still, Lind and she both had faith her Divine Bloodline would protect her.  They began to plan and the 6 elementals also planned to watch as Lind shared what he suspected.  If it was true, the cultivation world was in for a massive shock.

Ilyria almost hoped she could stay to see it but she was the map they would use to understand the Moon Tier.  She smiled at that and looked forward to her ascension even more.
