Chapter 547 - 546 - Star Tier Bottleneck
Chapter 547 - 546 - Star Tier Bottleneck
The 2nd Centennial Moebius Competition had been as monstrous as the first. Also, unlike the last one, experts from the Heaven Realm descended to participate as well!
While that had more Heaven grade experts, they were actually crushed like bugs by the native experts! Still the results of the first main round had been as shocking as last time.
The grade 3 experts did not just make survival or necessities cooperating together, but created Gold Tier Ascension platforms that made it almost a certainty to progress. The clear implication that Diamond Tier could follow!
While the qualitative tribulations were usually high in getting through, many suffered Qi deviation or crippling due to lack of stamina or Qi reserves. While the platforms did not overcome quality cultivation issues, for those that did their due diligence, it became smooth sailing!
The peak mortal grade had been thought to not top the previous competition but the stunning number of weavers that could induce an adjustable elemental matrix for each combination of Star Tier dantian made it that reaching Moon Tier was a matter of course!
The rest also created support items to make a firm and profound conditions for cultivators to study their elements and add secondary ones far more easily than ever before!
It was not like relying on pills to advance, the artifacts, formations, and even pills or elixirs simply created an environment that was not easy to replicate for the various combinations of primary elements a cultivator could have.
Many sects and guilds would no longer have to risk their followers in natural areas to only gain a single element and instead could combine theory with practical experience. After that, the Star Tier could walk the rest of the path to reach Moon Tier on their own with a firm foundation!
The most stunning part had been the Heaven Grade rounds. Compared to the previous competition, weavers exploded in number! The 3rd Circle weavers crushed the competition from the Heaven Realm while the elixir masters and Forgers seemed to border on miraculous.
Moebius Sect dominated once more but the race was still close!
Further, some low grade 6 items showed up in the individual section! Combined with the massive improvements of the mortal grade examples, the possibility of ascending had just gotten insanely easy!
The Heaven Realm experts were left slack jawed as the powers behind them were salivating at those lower world experts rising soon to the Heaven Realm.
Over the last 80 years, Lind Frey had been seen and met with many leaders but he stayed out of politics save when it touched on Saisei City or his sect. Otherwise, he was in seclusion trying to study how a 6 elemental could become a Star Tier.
Many were confused on the issue until they realized that while the 6 elementals had all the elements in their dantian already, they had something extra that no one had studied: harmonies.
Once many grasped the problem, they also assumed it was likely to consume the current generation of Sky Realm 6 elementals. Unlike previous advances where there had at least been some study or parallel to follow, Star Tier was a massive departure from the cultivation path.
Many referred to the Body Refining Realm to Sky Realm as the mortal realms. Even though great power could be used and life extended, ultimately, old age sickness, and death would come all too soon.
All the revolutions made possible by Lind Frey insured his mark on history forever, but there were very many that felt he had reached the end.
Rather than pity, however, many felt honored to have lived to see such a change in the ages. In a mere 600 years, the entire cultivation world had not only changed in the mortal realm but in the Heaven Realm as well.
Powers were now sending messages or envoys to other mortal realms to nurture 6 elementals, they were sure. If they knew the truth of it, they might call them idiots but still, a single mortal realm flourished with 6 elemental powerhouses.
It had been 550 years since the founding of the Moebius Sect in the lower world but 6 elementals were now commonplace in most powers. Arts were created and inspired by old ones for them to adapt and make stronger.
No one could claim to have had such a fundamental effect on the cultivation world other than Lind Frey. He would be honored even if he could not advance.
All knew, of every level, that he would study the problem completely so even if he failed, the next generation would not have to start from scratch. So even if he died, one day the Star Tier 6 elementals would still have to thank Lind Frey one last time.

A boulder was sent flying into the Mengcong as Lind emerged from the smoking hole that had been his seclusion chamber. His cultivation was stable but the energy around him was chaotic.
Coughing heavily he floated up and away before settling down on a raised tree root. Several beasts had long since left the area as it was not an uncommon occurrence for something to go wrong.
Lind had set up isolation wards with his weaving but even those were strained which told him the extent of the power he was trying to use.
"Still stuck?" A gentle voice called out as he turned to see a pale yet gorgeous young woman smiling at him. Her dark robes were stronger than any Forged item could hope to be and he could feel she had advanced.
"Caught up to me already, Ilyria? You make me look like a snail." Ilyria giggled at her Uncle but frowned as she knew she could likely break through to Star Tier much sooner thanks to his efforts.
As a Divine Beast, she already had fairly smooth breakthroughs in the past 80 years. With no bottlenecks nor Qi deviation, she was the envy of the beasts and cultivators alike.
Still, it did come with other issues.
"I may be in peak tier 9 but I am still only in the 2nd Circle." She had indeed flown through cultivation but weaving had no such shortcut. She had been learning diligently at the sect but it seemed her method of advancement had some idiosyncrasies that gave her a headache.
A look of understanding passed over Lind but he tossed her a jade slip.
"I may be stumped on my harmony but your weaving gave me a good distraction." Ilyria was stunned as her Uncle had indeed noticed the differences and made several annotations. She looked up at him in awe.
"The Elders say you are a monster of comprehension but I did not believe it until now." He laughed as she sat next to him. She did not have any Talents but she could feel that his Sky Core was brimming with Qi, but showed no sign of cracking.
"You can shatter the core?" Lind nodded at her question.
"It was a problem as it seems having all 6 elements makes that much harder even with the pill to help, but it is doable. I also confirmed a sub-core needs to be taken to the peak as well but no issue there either." Lind was actually frustrated at that confirmation as it might have made things easier.
He summoned his 3 badges. The elixir and Forging badge were now prismatic and see through. His weaving badge was pure jade but could be considered the equal of the other 2 now.
He simply lacked the ability to make such a badge.
Whatever that material was, it was beyond low grade 6 which was as far as he could go. As he advanced, he assumed the badges would become opaque again but the few envoys that had met him wearing them had lost all arrogance in front of him.
It seemed being a grade 6 expert in a mortal realm was evaluated highly.
"So, it is the harmony still." Lind nodded but also shook his head.
"They are all one. It should be simple but it is like there is a tiny gap we have all overlooked in the process. It is the critical final step but it eludes me. Even being a dragon soul does not help." In the past, part of his insights had come from facing the harsh tribulations of being a progenitor.
The current step, however, was not assisted by Heaven, it was purely the effort of the cultivator. If they wanted to reach the next stage, they had to do it on their own. It was the most effective test Heaven could give cultivators.
While 5 elementals struggled the most to reach tier 9 Sky Realm before, they almost zipped into Star Tier after that. If he did not have a harmony, Lind suspected the Star Tier would be very short for him.
He had no elements to add nor interactions to work out. It would be purely refining his dantian to get to the Moon Tier.
Ilyria looked sad at the jade slip in her hand. Once she comprehended it and became 3rd circle, nothing could stop her from becoming a Star Tier. She could stay like most did to complete her secondary elements but she was a Divine beast. It would be child's play to do so with her race memory.
She only needed 3 and her Uncle had already set her up for that as well. He was able to so easily help others but not his own kind.
"Uncle.." She suddenly felt his arm wrap around her.
"Don't overthink things. I will figure it out. I made a promise to my wives and friends. I keep my promises." She nodded slowly and hugged him back.
"Aunt Ethry will be angry, I heard, especially if you fail." Lind flinched and mentally cursed Kexin who was also stuck with him at the peak of tier 9. Most of the 6 elementals had caught up to him but all of them were studying their harmonies to no effect.
They were all stuck.
Even so, they could fight Star Tiers on their own and win 8/10 times, but all of them yearned to continue. Once one started on the path of cultivation, they did not want to stop. It was like going back to when they could not become real World Realms.
It had been solved but now they were stuck again. It was not the same as they were stable and could live 2000 years at least maybe up to 3000 with some lucky chances but it was frustrating to be stuck by what you are and not reaching the limit of one's potential.
"Enough about me, let's see if we can get you through your bottleneck." Lind wanted to try again but he had plucked away at the issue for 80 years. Taking a break to help his niece would be a nice distraction.
The 2 left the area and the beasts carefully looked at the devastation. All of them shivered instinctively, even a few Star Tiers that looked at it from afar. What they felt was a level of power far beyond Star Tier!
Lind Frey was a monster!
