Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 539 - 538 - Pushing the Limits

Chapter 539 - 538 - Pushing the Limits

The crowd was going crazy.  They had just witnessed an insane thing!

There were now 10 new Star Tiers and all of them had been near the end of their lives previously.  The implication was clear and Mythra's announcement was followed by instant results.

Moebius Sect had been in the red a bit even with help for the competition but after that demonstration, they would be unassailable in treasuries!

No sane power would hold back to hand over their most valuable objects to get what they needed.

Still, materials were limited but even then, it was simply a matter of getting them!

Even the supreme powers were already contacting their superiors in the Heaven Realm after seeing such results.

The Maidens especially were shocked as while they had more advanced methods to aid their members, it was clearly inferior to what they just saw!

Lind smirked as Varys was escorted away.  Kexin told him the rest would be dealt with as they had clearly worked behind their backs to try and leverage their own gains over the sect.

They had wasted their last chance to stay in power and Lind left no mercy for them.

Lind looked at the Heaven grade experts as the newly christened Star Tiers returned to their powers.

He saw Kexin smile at her jade communication stone as she looked up at him.

"Assuming we can get materials, the Moebius Sect will be flush with resources until the end of time!"  Lind smiled but knew the future would not be so kind.  All it would take is the derivative professions to branch out from their sect and their monopoly would break.

It still took a 6 elemental professional to pull it off but artifacts could compensate for the missing elements.

Still, it would take decades before the artifact and professionals could reach their level.

The Heaven grade round was nearing the end and Lind used his Eyes to watch the weavers in particular as it all finally came to a close.

Lind looked on as he smirked.  The Heaven grade was the pinnacle of the competition yet the future would blow away the current standard.

"Lind."  Kexin spoke up and he looked over to her to see worry on her face.  "You are revealing all we achieved over the last few centuries.  What will we do next time?"

He patted her head which made her blush but he explained the future.

"We are merely planting seeds this time.  Take the current round.  If I can find a way through the 3rd circle, or someone else can, weavers will rise like spring the same as Forgers and elixir masters."  She nodded but still found issues with all the free sharing they did.

"What about when the seeds bloom?"  He looked at her and smiled.

"That is when we will truly see the competition explode.  If we can lay the foundation, then the skill test will become a true battle of skill compared to the scattershot it currently is."  He looked on as each Heaven grade finished their project.

Kexin looked on but still looked worried.

"What will we do when all the powers learn what you know?"  Lind smirked at her question as he summoned a jade slip from his ring.  He gave it to her and watched as her brow looked frustrated as she did not understand a thing from what she read.

"There is another limit beyond the current ones.  This competition is about laying the foundation to improve us all but the next ones will be about what they learned.  After that, we will be pushing the limits as we are right now."  Kexin looked as Mythra floated above the 100 competitors.

"Please stop!  The evaluation will begin!"  The elixir masters had not all competed vials but most did.  The rest were in similar straits as the proctors moved into the various areas.

Lind smiled as he observed his disciples do well but the alchemists proved they were not to be underestimated!

He saw the top 10 had 4 alchemists while only 3 elixir masters made it.  The last 3 slots were a formation master, a weaver, and refiner.  The Forger in 11th place was frustrated but Heaven grade was clearly more difficult than many understood.

"How many do you think will understand what you have done?"  Kexin asked the question but Lind smirked as he reviewed the results.

The formation masters and weavers had made portable and improved versions of the Star Tier platform pieces.  Heaven grade was obviously better but still had severe limits.

The alchemist and elixir masters had very different goals.  They touched on Heaven Realm cultivators.  The alchemists made the Condensation Pill that was helpful for low Star Tiers while the elixir masters made the Elemental Comprehension Elixir.

The elixir was a rather simple but difficult to make elixir due to the limitation of materials.  It allowed a cultivator to more easily grasp Secondary Elements!

The Forgers made dispersers of much higher quality but the refiners made various armors, weapons, and artifacts of the Midnight Series.

Heaven grade shined in refiners as they could do on their own what took a combination at grade 3!

The results made many masters contemplative but reaching Heaven grade was very difficult.

Still, the results spoke for themselves.  If they could nurture such experts in the future. Their limits would be beyond doubt!

The point of the Heaven grade section was clear.  What was possible with mortal grade was child's play for Heaven grade.

Many master's salivated over what their disciples learned but that would have to wait until after the current round.

Mythra then announced a stunning fact.

"For those looking to see the complete recipe or schematic, please request Moebius Sect with an appointment to release the items you have seen made today."  Master Ye narrowed his eyes as he wondered what that meant but none of his guild disciples made it to the top 100 of Heaven grade so they would have to see.

He was glad to receive the detailed schematics and recipes but then shock flooded his system.

They were well worth the 100 Sky Stones each he paid!  He suspected he got a discount for some reason yet Master Ye did not question it as his face paled at the descriptions.

[Elemental Condensation Pill = peak grade 4 - used to help with elemental resonance]

[Elemental Comprehension Elixir = peak grade 4 - Increases comprehension of elemental Qi.]

[Dispersal Qi Net Forged artifact - peak grade 3 to 4 - Absorbs element given and transforms to corresponding demonic Qi.]

[Qi condenser Heaven grade 4 - condenses Qi by a factor of 8.]

[Elemental Resonance - Heaven grade 4 formation - used to break through to the Star Tier with a third the effort.]

[Interstitial Weaving  - Heaven grade 3 - isolate platform or area to prevent backlash.]

The many masters felt their jaws drop at the increase in ability using Heaven grade experts.

It became clear to all that the derivative professions were indispensable at that moment.

The Star Tiers were salivating as well to see pills and elixirs they could use that were still below grade 6!

All knew that materials were the bottleneck but unlike grade 6 materials, getting high end grade 4 or 5 materials was much easier!

Master Ye was going over it when an inkling of what was happening.

Heaven grade experts, unlike their mortal grade counterparts, suffered from lack of ability to experiment or get nurtured since they were already the best.  The cost of buying Heaven grade quality items made many treasuries drain quickly.

Conversely, Lind Frey just proved that cheaper material could help the much more powerful Star Tiers.  With the increase in Star Tiers, there would be increased demand for Heaven grade experts!

Their worth had just been proven!

It was a clever way to get trade to increase from the higher realms down to the mortal realms to nurture such individuals.

It also made Moebius Sect stand out with plans to branch out into the Heaven Realm, the very competition occurring before his eyes was likely to light a fire of support for such a move!

How far ahead had he planned?  How much was pure luck and actually well thought out political moves?

"He is a monster."  Master Ye whispered it but he was not alone as many leaders and guild masters shared his thoughts.

Lady Estelle was cackaling as her known connection to Moebius Sect would lead to massive increase in investments.  She was too old to make it to the peak of the Sky Realm anymore but Lind had given her elixirs to extend her life slightly.

Su next to her was simply smiling and shaking her head.  She looked at her own dantian and saw the beginnings of secondary elements coming together thanks to the very elixir just revealed to the Floating Isles.

"Would the new Star Tiers please come back to the arena floor!"  All looked on as they all realized what they were about to see!

Sure enough they were given one of each pill and elixir.  It still left enough to test but the new Star Tiers began to cultivate right there as proctors looked on.  The dispersers and support formations and weavings went to work.

Since each was isolated, no Qi bled over.  They all watched in awe as the newly minted Star Tiers not only began to consolidate their foundation but the flow of new elements slowly became visible to all!

It was stunning and showed what was possible with Heaven grade items!

The many powerful figures down to the lowest power were sending out messages and requests.  A storm of communication flew through the air all the way to the Heaven Realm itself!

Lind Frey noticed it all with his Eyes and smiled.  He also finally got a glimpse into Star Tier for himself!  Watching 10 isolated breakthroughs at once gave him a lot to work with, but what surprised him was the complete lack of effect on his 3rd restriction.

"Nothing is ever easy."  Lind waved to Mythra who let the testing continue as a few more existing Star Tiers put the remaining items through their paces.  It was all amazing and lasted a bit longer by endurance compared to the grade 3 counterparts but the power exposed to them was much higher.

The message was clear, Heaven grade made a qualitative leap worth investing into.  Tomorrow, the new rounds begin!
