Chapter 511 - 510 - Phoenix Elixir
Chapter 511 - 510 - Phoenix Elixir
Lind was dead tired.
He had angered Heaven a bit. It was not nearly as much as before with Fey, but he had touched on a divine ability. He had argued he would pay the price and was left with what that would be.
It felt weird that Heaven and Earth believed he would reach Immortality but his tribulations were already bad. It was better to have an idea what he would face if he succeeded than going in blind.
He looked on as the withered body of Lady Chyou began to bleed from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. He saw she was in pain but could do nothing. It really would be up to her and he had only lied about one thing.
It really would use up her lifespan because it was required.
What he had created was not a low Heaven grade 6 elixir, but a recreation of a divine ability he had studied along with many others. He had been inspired and wondered if elixirs could even capture a piece of any ability unlike pills.
There was no pill, not one, that could infuse a bloodline or ability into a cultivator, but there were pills that assisted such techniques or increased their success.
It was the first time he made an elixir not to combine or make efficient known possibilities of pills but to do something singular.
It had gone surprisingly well. He might have been able to use peak grade 5 materials but Heaven might have objected far more if he did.
It also would have left him defenseless with some potential enemies still around.
It was only his second time creating with grade 6 materials so his badges were still accurate but it was much easier than last time. He had many experiences and exposure to a variety of knowledge that gave him a broad foundation.
He had built it up and always kept an eye out for more chances. The 10 years he traveled Wild Heart Isle had been the most instructive for his Forging and elixir mastery.
Beasts were specific bloodlines and specific needs so he had to tailor both far more finely than ever before. There were the starlight panthers that mixed air and darkness to killer effect but needed fire to advance their bloodline efficiently.
He had come across many such species and learned from them. The result was the elixir he created for Lady Chyou. Her injuries were impossible to heal after so much time had passed.
Not only was her vitality used up, but her cultivation had adapted to the injury to sustain peak tier 9 Sky Realm ability. After what he had seen in the Barren Realm, however, he knew of a possibility.
Dragons were born from wyverns, but how? It had bothered Lind until he really talked with them and realized it was always possible to invigorate the latent bloodlines within them. The previous guardians had prepared the 3 eggs with their flames and blood.
It left behind more than qualitative increase possible but a full transformation. Before they became dragons, all 3 had definitely been male, but now there was only 1 male dragon and 2 female dragons.
Further, there was no dissonance in their mental state despite the massive change such a shift could bring. It meant they had fully been reborn while retaining their souls and comprehension.
It had inspired him to wonder if he could recreate it since he was a dragon soul as well but he could not. There was more to the transformation the wyverns did than he could grasp but he has stumbled on an ability he could grasp!
The Phoenix ability to be reborn from the ashes.
He could not completely recreate it but he had grasped enough that the elixir came together for him. He had Lady Estelle gather what she had on hand as it had been his plan to offer the choice to Lady Chyou.
He had learned from Romana how bad things had become at the Heavenly Maiden Sect. He also was suspicious of it.
While having factions was impossible to avoid, deliberately trying to disband the lower branches seemed like something even the Heaven Realm branch would crack heads for. They needed bodies and were not particular about where talent came from.
It would only weaken the Maidens if they cut off the flow of cultivators and would lead to loss of resources for those that saw their attitude about lower world cultivators as well. It would not be a total loss but the blow to their reputation would shake the once insurmountable mountain it had been.
Such an action could only come from enemies acting on jealousies and other petty reasoning that existed in everyone.
It left the question who but the list was far too long to narrow it down easily. Fiends would love it but they had not only been purged, but completely wiped from the mortal realm. Since the Moebius Sect was the primary cause, his sect should have been the target more but the Maidens were mortal enemies.
Still, he doubted the Fiends would have bothered with a Sky Realm branch until they invaded or some other attack, so why was it so broken down now?
Demons were another possibility as many of their powers were not happy with the Maidens but Hellfire Sect was normally a staunch wall against cowardly actions. He had heard about the upheaval in the Hellfire Sect but it was now unified far more than in the past.
The Wilds were a complete impossibility due to the beasts would much rather have open warfare to consume and grow stronger. They simply did not think the same way cultivators did.
It left no real avenue for him to pursue but a sudden idea came to him. They owed him. He would have to look into it later as he saw the elixir was reaching the critical stage.
Chyou never called out nor cried but the pain was evident on her face and her flesh was now graying in front of him. He noted several of the attendants were crying openly while more than half were looking at him in a calculating way.
Lind ignored them beyond that but he felt flares from each as they tried to use artifacts or treasures for various purposes but the bindings locked it all down. The use of the tower would draw attention but by the time someone came looking, it would all be over one way or the other.
"Are you going to reveal yourself or not?" He suddenly spoke to his left but only felt a slight disturbance there. He was not entirely sure when she arrived but he knew who she was.
"Your senses are terrifying compared to before. It must have been a rough place you lived in." A bright voice came back but a young woman dimly appeared rather than the teenager he remembered.
"You made it to tier 9." He stated a fact but she shrugged. Romana was making progress but her unique ability did not magically give her comprehension. She still had to make her way forward like everyone else.
"I have been busy or I might have been Star Tier like most of your wives and family. Seriously, what did you teach them?" The frequency with which all of them broke through was stunning to all powers.
"A great deal, actually, but they also put in the hard work which required a lot of them starting over from scratch." His eyes narrowed as the life force in Lady Chyou flickered. It was time. "If you are a praying woman, I would start right now."
Both became silent as the frail body seemed to shrink even more. Lind became nervous as he knew his elixir but the will power of the consumer was unknown.
Suddenly, a giant flame burst out of the body and consumed it! It was profound and colored in a violet hue rather than the orange and gold a fire would normally be. Lind was stunned but began to smile as his Eyes saw what occurred inside the flames.
A skeleton of the finest jade was created before nerves and organs followed by flesh were quickly being rebuilt. Meridians of incredible strength and widge were woven over it all as Qi was pulled in by the metric ton.
Lind had left his weavings running so it was fortunate that nearly all the Qi needed was within the tower to leave the outside none the wiser.
A pulse of Qi flooded the room before skin began to be constructed and then suddenly a hand covered his eyes. The cool hand of Romana was accompanied by the snickering of her voice.
"You would look upon a pure Maiden when you already have so many wives? Greedy little boy you are!" Lind cracked a smile but then became solemn as he felt the tremor of breaking through fill the room.
The hand moved because Romana was caught off guard and Lind saw a slim but gorgeous chestnut colored hair woman floating in the flame as she entered the Star Tier directly. All the accumulations of her previous life spilled over into her new one.
Lady Chyou not only entered Star Tier but her secondary elements were all born in that instant. That was NOT part of his plan but he knew his elixir was involved. She was not at the peak of Star Tier but she would get double the result with half the effort.
The hard part was adding the elements and that was done, now she had to incorporate them into her Arts and techniques.
Finally, Lady Chyou opened her eyes to reveal another surprise. Her eyes were the same color as the flames! A pale violet. The flames vanished and she quickly summoned a set of robes only to find them a little tight on her now fit body.
"You look beautiful, my old friend." Romana was actually crying as she flew up and Chyou was pleasantly surprised to see her but both were hugging tightly. Lind felt his own eyes tear up as Romana was not one to be so open usually.
Chyou bowed low to Lind.
"Thank you for the chance, Master Frey. Regardless of how Sect Mistress feels, you are always welcome to my branch." Her words made Lind smile as he looked over at the shocked faces of the attendants. Some were crying happily that were definitely not faking while some looked down right sick.
"Take these." He tossed a storage pouch over to her and she widened her eyes at him. "The battle ahead is difficult. I would be a terrible friend if I did not help out."
Both of them smiled before they felt other presences approaching. Romana smirked as she whisked the entirety of the Maidens away before he could blink.
Lind smiled and waved while he dispersed his weavings before taking the chair of Lady Chyou. He doubted she would mind as he would save time visiting the other 2 sects if he just sat there.
He cultivated as he waited for the next round of confrontations.
