Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 505 - 504 - Soul Resonance

Chapter 505 - 504 - Soul Resonance

Lind would have smacked himself back when he was a Soul Realm using teleportation.  Nausea was much preferred to being nearly ripped apart and Qi trying to escape his dantian or meridians with every movement of his body.

Blood had practically flowed from his body like a stream.  His bones had creaked the entire time as the forces inside the spatial tunnel tried to rip him apart.

His fumbling attempt made the most tenuous connection and he could only struggle with each step until light blazed ahead of him.  At that moment, pressure slammed into him in opposition, like the tunnel was trying to prevent him from leaving it.

He felt the tunnel coming apart around him as he crawled through the tear before it snapped shut.

He vaguely remembered talking to someone but the feeling of Ethry's connection came back so he knew he was home.  He downed an elixir and then collapsed.

Whatever time passed after that he was unsure but in his dreams, familiar voices kept saying they loved him and were so glad to have him back.  The fog slowly fell away as a very familiar ceiling came into sight.

"I'm home."  He rasped out the words but it caused an explosion.

He saw the quickly sharpening images of his wives, Fey, Kora, Tal and more snapping to attention in his room.  He smiled at them right before they tried to dogpile him.

Normally, he would be embarrassed but at that moment, he enjoyed being nearly crushed by the clearly far more powerful auras they had.

Tears flowed from all their eyes but then he noticed a person absent.  While the sect needed someone in charge, surely all of them being there meant she could be as well?

"Where is Shoti?"  The instant he asked the question, he felt the room still.  A pit opened in his stomach.  He knew they had been lucky that they had all lived until the present.  Some had faced near death but his elixirs had been able to pull them back from the brink.

He slowly sat up but no one spoke.  He did not blame them.  He instead tried to smile but he found it very hard.  Before he could ask more, a woman filled the doorway that silenced him.

It was his mother and behind her was the twins!

"Mo–"  Before he could say a word he was bowled over by her hug and he truly could smile then.  The twins also hugged them both and he felt like he was back in the Frey Clan.  Still, he did not diverge from his goal.

"What happened to Shoti?"  His mother backed up but nodded at the twins.  They said nothing as they quietly left.  It made his yawning pit deepen.  They would not even speak to him.

His mother held his left arm tightly as the twins came back with a woman that had the face of his beloved wife but the feeling was just wrong.  His soul stirred as the once short cut green hair now down her back.

It was clear she was being cared for but all of them found it hard to look at the pale violet eyes that had once sparked with teasing joy.  He could tell her muscles had atrophied for a few months compared to the peak she once kept herself.

Lind moved before anyone could stop him.  His mother stayed back as it was clear the person in front of them was no longer their beloved but an expert elixir master.

He gently took Shoti into his arms and all were shocked as unlike any attempt they made, she responded!  Her eyes looked at Lind and a tiny smile ghosted across her face.  Lind smiled warmly.

"I am home, Shoti."  A tear trailed down her cheek but no other response came from her which broke his heart.  Lind then was lined in emerald light as he looked her over.

Her dantian, meridians, and body were in perfect health.  Her mind was also fine so far as he could tell.

If there was nothing wrong with her body or mind, that only left the most troublesome aspect.

He saw she was a Star Tier so he could fully perceive her dantian, but his eyes changed into vertical slits as his skin took on an emerald hue.

The aura in the room suddenly changed as they all felt shocked at its power.  Lind had always given a feeling of insane power when using his dragon soul but compared to before, they actually felt like they were in front of a Star Tier, not a tier 8 Sky Realm.

Lind felt rage as he saw her soul.  Where he should have seen a similar shaped human woman glowing inside her foundation, he found a mangled form barely holding together.

It had a head, an arm, and the torso but nothing else.

It had been mauled by something.  He could feel what it was the moment he touched on it.

"Who did this?"  His voice was ice cold.

"They are already dead.  They killed themselves to prevent any hope of recovering her soul."  Cyntilla spoke up.  Her normally stern demeanor was broken looking at Shoti.  Of all the sister wives, they were the closest to each other.

Qing also was crying again seeing Lind's concern and anger.

"Give it back."  His words surprised them but they had said them themselves.  However, he looked up at the Heavens and all of them trembled as his eyes were not simply wishing for something.  "I know you can hear me.  Give it back, now."

A rumble came from the skies to the shock of all.

Lind began to grow in size and all saw he had gained another meter in height.  His draconic visage also had become more pronounced.

Was he really demanding Heaven obey him?!

"Lind, stop!  We can't do that without paying a severe price!"  Ethry's voice broke the spell Lind had over them but he only glanced at her before calming himself.  The pressure did not fade and his anger had nowhere to go.

A pale hand suddenly touched his snout and all stared as Shoti smiled up at him with the most lively face she had in years.

"Lind…"  Qing wept as they heard her voice whisper and he turned back into his human form.  He smiled but Shoti barely did anymore.

He invigorated his soul once more but merely had them both covered by emerald flames.

"I am home.  I wish–I wish I could have been there when you needed me most beloved."  It was rare for Lind to speak so openly.  He kept a warm but polite public expression of his love.  Given the issues of his origins, it was likely tied to keeping his private life private.  He felt no need to show others what he held true in his heart.

Shoti slowly nodded which gave all of them nope but her eyes were still so vacant.  There was no mirth or spark in them.

"I love you.  I loved you ever since you and Qing healed stood by me and helped me recover from my heart demons.  You gave me laughter and the feeling of safety when I was worried about so much."  Lind held her close as the flames flickered around them.  "You never took anything seriously but teasing me.  I still remember feeling shocked to know you wanted me over so many other worthy warriors."

His words flowed and many had heard similar things when he spoke to them about his feelings with them.  Still, to hear him speak so gently with one of them so openly made them a little jealous.

Even so, all were shocked when the ephemeral dragon appeared around them suddenly.  It was not roaring but encircling the 2 inside its range before a strange feeling filled the room.

Qing was recalling when Shoti escaped the Conclave with her and a few other slaves to Sarth.  She then saw the pranks Shoti played on the elders of the Heavenly Maiden Sect as they grew stronger in the sect.

Annabelle saw when Shoti pulled her aside and gave her serious advice about how to advance her relationship with Lind.  It was the first time Annabelle understood what her future would be at his side but Shoti made it seem perfectly fine.

Cyntilla smirked as she suddenly recalled the many spars she and Shoti had.  Shoti had fought to be number one but both had realized Lind did not think that way.  He simply praised them and loved them with all his heart as much as he could.

She smiled at the early days when Lind was overwhelmed by all 4 of them wanting to marry him.  Shoti had a few months of pure teasing joy with him during that.

Mira recalled when the 4 wives came home with her son.  It was Shoti that seemed the most trouble but also the most loyal.  Her son had made a heart race that was used to playing with men's feelings.

Ethry recalled how Shoti counseled her to be more patient with Lind.  She had called his morals a bit troublesome but coming from a sincere place.  She blushed at the other advice Shoti gave her back then.

Lysanna, Teylin, Teyla, Fey, and all the rest recalled bits and pieces of Shoti in their lives at that moment.  No one knew why but it was such a strong impulse they indulged as Lind held Shoti close.

"We are all here beloved.  Your family is with you and part of you always."  Lind spoke the words that came to his mind but felt a shift in his soul at that moment.  Emerald Qi from his harmony flowed down Shoti's meridians like lightning but made no change until it reached her dantian.

He got his first true look at the starfield of a Star Tier cultivator but the beauty was lost as his harmony touched her soul.  Spirit Qi suddenly flooded her body and Lind could only stare as her soul suddenly began to repair!

His harmony was bridging something in the spirit Qi to her soul!  He kept it up and while it was incredibly slow, he felt no strain on himself to continue.

Time passed like an eternity but eventually the soul of Shoti was human once more!  Her hands suddenly gripped him tightly.

"LIND!  You are really here, right?!"  Shoti's tremulous voice broke the process entirely as his harmony dispersed and the others snapped out of their memories.  All felt tired but no other issue was noted as they all were shocked at what they saw.

Shoti was weeping as she checked Lind over and was smiling with bright eyes like she used to have!

"Shoti?"  Lind was confused at what happened but she only smacked his head.

"Who did you expect?!  I thought you died!  You are not allowed to leave the sect ever again!"  She suddenly pulled him in tight and refused to let go as she breathed in his scent.  "I had a terrible dream.  I was in a dark hole that seemed so far away from everyone.  I could not get them to hear me but then I saw your damned dragon soul and grabbed it for all I was worth!"

Lind was stunned before a feeling entered his mind.

[Soul Resonance, junior.  I do not know how you had an Immortal Art, but it was Soul Resonance.  Fiends are not the only threat to souls so it was created as a treatment, but only Immortals should be able to use it.]

The Divine Guardian's words brought him some clarity and ideas as he looked around.

"It was all of us.  Everyone that loves Shoti made it possible.  We brought her back!"  They all wept as the wives wrapped the 2 up and they refused to let go.  Not even a week back, and Lind was causing miracles again.

Lind held them all with his senses and thanked the spirits sincerely from his heart.  He was finally back!
