Chapter 504 - 503 - Changes
Chapter 504 - 503 - Changes
The Moebius Sect was relatively peaceful. There had been no challenges to claim their territories in nearly a century. Ethry had smashed any challengers as if they were twigs so most aether beasts simply left them alone.
They had expanded into 3 more territories around them but the Moebius Sect remained roughly in the center at the Mengcong.
Lady Gua had long since ascended as well as many Star Tiers that had met Lind on his travels in the decade he wandered Wild Heart Isle.
Ethry, Fey, and Cyntilla became Star Tiers as well. Qing was almost there but she had paused her cultivation after Shoti became injured in her soul. Of all the sects, Moebius Sect had far more Star Tiers than most of the Floating Isles combined.
Lysanna was in the midst of isolated cultivation for her break through while Annabelle was not far behind Ethry when she reached it.
Many of the elders of the sect, beast or cultivator, became peak tier 9 Sky Realms with a high potential to reach the Star Tier.
As the centuries passed, old friends ascended from the lower world.
Angelica had finally ascended as the first 6 elemental demon. She reported that no more had shown up but likely it was far more rare than in humans.
She made a beeline for the Moebius Sect and no one stopped her. As if she opened a dam, Kalen, Tessa, and so many others suddenly started popping up.
Of them all, Kalen was the most provocative. The Akashic Bloodline Physique was highly valued by the Hellfire Sect. There were also several other demon sects and powers that wanted him, yet they never imagined the insane level of control the boy had.
There was a laughable battle to try and control him that instead resulted in the complete submission of all demonic forces to Kalen. He then openly revealed his robes showing the Moebius Sect emblem.
With such powerhouses coming back under their wing, the prestige and interest in aligning with Moebius Sect rose but they refused all offers.
They were happy to negotiate trade or set up lectures but they stayed on Wild Heart Isle as they were. The beasts were very pleased with that arrangement.
Ethry had a very special guest that day in her office. The dark green eyes in the round face and dark hair made her long for her mate. She was very happy to see her master still.
"You have become very beautiful, my little dragon." Ethry blushed at Mira's words. As the chaos of war spread, many old friends had pulled back to the sect to be safe or protected at their host power's request.
Mira had been one of the first to be shipped off to the Moebus Sect as her sect at the time dared not stain their honor with the death of the mother of Lind Frey!
Shortly after, Teyla and Teylin brought their families over as well. While the chaos of war was not good, Ethry liked that all she loved came under her roof. All they were really missing was Lind.
"How are the lectures this year?" Mira was now a peak Heaven grade 3 alchemist. Her lessons were highly sought after to the point some rewards were tied to missions for attendance!
Mira frowned but then smirked a bit.
"Most of the usual simply thinking alchemy can make a shortcut when it really just makes the foundation shallow if used too much like that." She then smiled wide as she thought of the few good seeds she found. "I think I found a girl that is just as good as Fey in alchemy."
Ethry widened her eyes.
Fey, despite being widely known as the Fierce Fairy for several centuries, had picked up a new name. She was now known as the Karmic Fairy. At first glance it seemed a weaker title but any that had faced her knew far better.
The wicked were reaped of their souls while the weak and innocent were saved.
The broadsword had become synonymous with her alchemy cauldron. Both were Forged by Lind at the peak of Heaven Grade 5. The spirits in them were nurtured by Fey until one day they suddenly joined her in her breakthrough to the Star Tier.
It was the main reason spirit items were so desired. They could grow!
The conditions and resources would be very harsh, but it could be done.
"Neera is coming along nicely, I heard." Ethry nodded at the oddest elder they had now. The Sword Breakers Sect had been sad to lose her but her ability to awaken the sleeping spirits in the weapons and armor Lind left behind needed help.
After 150 years of immersing herself in Lind's lessons on creating such items, an odd change occurred to the human woman. Her eyes became very close to Ethry's scale color. Prismatic sparks replaced her originally pale colored eyes.
She also became odd to be around. Only Star Tiers were not really bothered but anyone else found it difficult to look into her eyes.
She also could commune with all the creations left behind after that. Once awakened, the weapons and armors could be matched up to compatible cultivators. The chance to do so was a reward within the sect and a chance could be one from outside by meritorious services.
The Sword Breakers Sect, for obvious reasons, were given several slots once Neera became what the Fiend had called a Spirit Master.
"She mentions how happy Solon's and Fey's items are. Neera also told me you need to be nicer to your halberd." Ethry blushed at the stern tone Mira gave. She may have been a bit harsh on it but she never felt a complaint from it!
"The graduation ceremonies will be held soon. How many applied from the Alchemy Hall?" Ethry clearly changed the topic but Mira looked at her over the fine porcelain jade tea cup as if to accuse Ethry of dodging her responsibilities.
The ceremony was a plan Lind had but events had prevented him from implementing it. Leaving a sect was quite common for various reasons but the Moebius Sect made a change for their disciples.
For those that wished to leave, they would submit an application and be certified in their profession or skills by the sect. They could then go forth with full approval to join or become a rogue cultivator as they wished to.
The advantage for the graduates was they were still welcome as guest elders with no hard feelings whatsoever and the Floating Isles were able to happily pick up such cultivators to add to their own power.
Lind never wanted to hoard it all to himself. He knew greed and jealousy would eventually bring enemies knocking on their door. Besides, he shared many discoveries with the outside world anyway.
The whole point of Moebius Sect was to help 6 elementals and later the derivative professions. After nearly 300 years, weaving had become a respectable profession. Further, criminal use of it was extremely punished by Moebius Sect itself.
All the changes happened so swiftly but rather than face pushback by the established order, the chaos of the Floating Isles actually sped it up. Sect and kingdoms needed any edge they could get to survive.
The Moebius Sect reputation allowed them to branch out with their ideas safely and the results produced spoke for themselves.
"Ethry, do you really believe what we were told?" Mira looked very sad when she asked that question. Ethry wanted to firmly say yes, she believed Lind was alive but her connection was still gone.
Her race memory said that was impossible but none of her kind ever grew up in a mortal realm before. Maybe she was too weak?
"I will never give up. I want–" Ethry was about to continue when she froze. Mira also had her dark green eyes go wide as they both turned in the same direction.
It was not just them. All of Lind's wives, adopted children, and close friends felt something strike them at the same time. Across the Floating Isles, lives touched by Lind Frey all felt a pull towards a single direction although none knew it was all of them.
Ethry then felt her soul light up in a place that had gone dark for 3 centuries! Tears freely fell from her eyes as her soul wanted to transform and burst from the tower at full speed, but she was not the impetuous young girl anymore.
She was about to summon a communication jade stone when the one on her desk lit up.
"SECT MISTRESS! HE IS BACK! HE IS ALIVE!" Bryth's voice came screaming out of it and Ethry finally could not resist. She picked up Mira and blasted open the balcony doors. She took to the skies like lightning and she was not alone!
Star Tiers could cover distance in an eyeblink that took even tier 9 Sky Realms months to move if unobstructed.
All the powers of the Floating Isles had members flying swiftly and unerringly towards a direction they all felt.
A booming voice suddenly echoed across the Isles.
[Listen well, juniors. What you felt was the Will of Heaven. It reacted to no doubt the strong desire of that wonderful boy making sure you were all safe. Don't overcrowd that island and by the spirits let those poor girls through or there will be hell to pay later!]
The pressure was immense but Ethry recognized the Divine Guardian's aura. The final confirmation only spurred her on as Mira made not a complaint.
The world blurred before Severis Island came into view a few moments later. No guards stopped them as they had heard the warning as well.
Ethry finally zeroed in on her connection but Lind was out cold. Still, he was alive! She could feel him again! Qing was brought over by Cyntilla while even Shoti was with Annabelle.
Ethry was shocked to see Shoti crying and looking in the same direction as the rest of them! The eyes were still vacant but there was something there! She knew Lind!
They finally reached the former factory area that had been excavated entirely. The teleportation array no one could hurt was now rubble but a group of guards were carefully standing around a bed where a man with dirty blonde hair and pale skin lay sleeping.
Kora and Tal stood with Fey but Ethry only used her tail to rope them all in. Family was family. She knew the twins were coming as fast as they could with so many others.
She landed and Mira launched herself at her son to embrace him. The others were not far behind. They felt his warmth and saw him breathe! He was there and he was alive!
Any battle that day stopped as the Floating Isles all understood a miracle had indeed occurred.
Lind Frey had come home!
