Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 498 - 497 - I am the Wrath of Heaven

Chapter 498 - 497 - I am the Wrath of Heaven

Major Yun was making Celeste suffer further humiliation as she was now scantily clad in front of the few Fiends in the control center.  Lian stood off to the side but kept her cool face.  The Major truly approved of such a fierce person.

She had her ambitions but tempered by reality.  She would go far in Yun's opinion.

"Major, the arrays are at phase 3 ahead of schedule."  She smiled at Bastion's report.  He was assigned to the artifact for her use against Immortals.  Once the now dead adjutant gave up the truth, the grave matter was enough for command to act.

It had cost several Immortal Qi stones to get the artifact and its supplies brought down to the mortal realm, but it was worth it for the benefits.  The death of an Immortal was highly beneficial to the Qi of a realm.

It would cause a huge spike of cultivation speed for centuries.

The amount of resources would be highly welcome as some setbacks had occurred since they lost the chance to invade a fairly rich middle mortal realm.

"If the boy really is from that battle, we need him alive.  He has dangerous knowledge but ripping it from him could help us."  She reminded Bastion and his companion about their orders.  They were the ones powering up the arrays to eventually trigger the Immortal Slaughter Formation.

Once the artifact was exhausted, they would have to wait for the formations to collect Qi to return home.  Even with dominating a mortal realm, anything above Star Tier would be ejected up to the Heaven Realm or punished in their case.

"Major, something is happening up the mountain."  One of the local forces brought her attention to a light glowing near the peak.  She was hardly concerned since the most powerful it could be was still in the Sky Realm.

A grade 5 artifact was nothing to her.

"It is simply a desperate act.  No doubt they are trying to collect Qi…"  She suddenly trailed off as the color became clear as emerald.  It was not an element or Art she was familiar with but she recalled the obsession of Celeste.

"It is him!  He really is alive!"  She glanced at the miserable woman but was stunned to see fear instead of anger.  Why was she afraid?

"Kill him!  Kill him now before it is too late!"  The little girl screamed but rather than feel disdain, it was as if Yun's instincts screamed at her.  She trusted them but before she could give the order the light flared and pressure shifted in the world.

"ATTACK!"  Her order barely echoed before the various Raptors unleashed their physical attacks or moved their artifact vessels to block the attack.  Instead of the expected Art or conjuring, a bright object shot down like a bolt from a crossbow.

She barely registered it as the bolts were blasted aside by some kind of formation before the artifact they were in rocked from an impact.

"REPORT!"  If the artifact arrays were damaged, it would be very bad as the energies gathering were not totally at their control.  If it ran out of control, it would kill them all!

"The formations are holding but something hit us directly above!"  The 2 Sun Tiers frowned but did not report any issue.  Yun looked up and was stunned to see a pointed dent in the ceiling!  How much force did it take to do that to grade 6 material?!

"Reporting, something is wrong."  Bastion suddenly spoke up but Yun was confused.  If the damage was insufficient to damage the arrays, what had suddenly gone wrong?

"Explain, quickly!"  Her orders hardly phased him but he answered seriously.

"I am losing the concentration of Fiend Qi somehow.  Something is using it!"  Yun looked up and recalled a near impossible fact about Lind Frey.  He could convert Fiend Qi back to normal.  He could do it with Immortal level Qi?!

"Lian, go and stop him.  Take the strongest people with you."  She knew it would be a risk but the pressure was fairly neutral around the center complex.  Lian bowed and quickly took 5 more people with her.

Yun looked above and sneered.

"A last gasp, no matter how impressive.  You are dead, fool."  She turned back and waited for good news.

The Nautilus interior was shattered in many places but the channels he needed were intact.  He then activated the artifacts in the bow and began to convert Fiend Qi with his emerald flames.

On his own, it would be near impossible but a peak Heaven grade 5 artifact could do it easily.  His left arm was in pain but it was healing.  All things considered, he was lucky to be conscious.

He had used weavings to protect himself but was still slammed around on impact.  He gave them no chance to stop him but now the true battle began.

He knew he had little time so began to set up a loop in the Nautilus.  It took surprisingly little effort to do so.  He noted the danger but then smiled at himself.  He had no future to modify the design later for.

Still, he left the ship quickly as he needed it to gather strength.

The wind whistled at him as he felt the strain to keep his Qi inside his body.  He suddenly realized that the Nautilus kept the same Qi density it started at.  It was good to know for the future but he just shook his head at his constant reminder his life would soon come to an end.

"So, you are Lind Frey."  A vile voice grated on his ears as an unearthly beauty led 5 more on to the roof with him.  The Nautilus was partially impacted into the roof but it had not broken anything.

"I am afraid I do not know you, junior."  Lind could tell all of them were peak tier 3 of the Sky Realm.  Normally, he would be confident of crushing them but if he unleashed even simple elemental attacks, all his Qi would explode out.

"My pardon senior, I am called Lian."  Her sarcasm was clear but her anger mystified him.  Was she the Overseer?  He did not recognize any features but then his memory went back to over 210 years ago.

"You were the district leader back then?"  Surprise crossed her face but a gratified smile spread quickly.

"Indeed.  I am here to bring you in front of our mistress.  She demands your attendance below."  Lind smirked as Protean appeared in his hands.  Direct summoning would be disastrous but his peak Heaven grade 5 weapon would be just fine.

They brought out swords and spears to fight him.  They believed he was doing a last gasp but all he needed was to buy some time.  He could feel the Nautilus surging slowly.

A harmonic glaive blade completed the dark staff as he began to attack!  The Fiends were not bad at all.  Their coordination put him under pressure as he could not do more than cause the blade to appear.

He did catch them off guard when the glaive changed to a spear suddenly.  He continued to switch between weapons and his intent flared but the strain was always pushing at him.  His Qi wanted to escape!

"You are not bad, senior, but your skills are not that profound."  Lian sneered as her sword suddenly blazed with aura!  Even at tier 7, Lind could not deflect it entirely but he kept moving to avoid it.

Suddenly, all the Fiends showed a weapon aura far above his own!  Such power was not easy to achieve but the Fiends had it in spades.  Lind was slammed to the edge as they cornered him.

He could fly but the pressure above would crush him back down so it was pointless.

"You are all strangely merciful.  So you meant it that your leader wants to meet me?"  Disappointment crossed Lian's face but her silence was confirmation.  He put his weapon away and dropped down to the entrance of the cube.

They quickly followed him but he had swept into the interior as if he owned the place.  His conviction made facing the unknown fairly easy but the moment he entered the interior, the pressure on him vanished.

A Void of Heaven, of course.

"Hmm, simple but effective."  He saw the shocked faces of the few Fiends not concentrating on the artifact itself.  He recognized the auras of the 2 men as Sun Tier but they seemed occupied with likely fighting the Nautilus.

There was a raised black chair upon which sat a vixen if he ever saw one.  Despite the gray skin and vile feeling, he could acknowledge she was the most beautiful Fiend he had met to date.

He also noted a Fiend chained up that did look familiar.  She shared features with the Fiend had left in the void.

She stared at him in rage but then fear crossed her features.  He only smiled at her before waving at the room.

"You all seem to be working hard.  I don't suppose you would surrender?"  His nonchalant attitude gave all of them pause.  Even the Sun Tiers seemed to stare at him as if he was insane.

"I normally applaud bravery but you are just a fool.  You seem to think you can beat us?"  The woman on the chair smirked at him in condescension but Lind did not care.  He only smiled wider which made her flinch.

"You seem to think I am here to fight, you are wrong."  Lind then finally unleashed his soul.  His scales grew as he reached nearly 4 meters in height as his tail slammed into the stone surface.

Shock flooded their faces but Lind only looked up as he barely felt the Nautilus reach the point it needed.

"I am the Wrath of Heaven and you are all going to die with me."  Their faces blanched when the skies thundered.  Lightning slammed into the artifact as the Nautilus exploded with emerald light that swept over the whole artifact and the fleet around it.

The world paused before the large artifact cracked open like an egg and exposed the Star and Sun Tiers inside.  As if waiting for it, the black clouds appeared and punishment lightning slammed into them!

Screams filled the air but the spirit looking on was not satisfied.  The Fiends had been confident in their victory and failed to consider a suicide run.

The Nautilus was gone, blasted apart by both Heavenly lightning and the overload Lind set it up for.  His harmonic Qi swept the Fiend Qi clean of everything and sent nearly 30 Raptors to their deaths in the ocean below.

Tears fell down her face as there was no sign of anyone flying out of the wreckage nor any flare of emerald flames.

"L–Lind…"  She only said his name and the tears threatened to spill over.  She knew Delor had died back then but seeing it happen was so much worse.  As she collapsed, she missed the 3 cocoons crack nearby as black clouds continued to gather.

Unlike before, it was not anger but joy that brought the clouds.  The world was shifting once more but all were ignorant as the cocoon shook with impossible power as snouts began to poke out earnestly and Immortal Qi gathered.

The dragons were about to return to the mortal realm.
