Chapter 274 - 273 - Power of Harmony
Chapter 274 - 273 - Power of Harmony
"Lind, I love you." A voice reached Lind from across a vast chasm of darkness. It was sad to die again. He felt that he would remember nothing this time, but it was ok. He had not given in nor had he cowered.
He could have waited but the price would have been something vital. Bastion might still have died, but Lind did not wait for it. The voice was pleasant and he felt so happy to hear it.
A warmth washed over him that was so wonderful that he could not recall even the best bath coming close. He had fun times with his wives too but all of that paled compared to the feeling right then.
He took a breath and a lot of information crashed into his mind.
He was a peak Iron Tier, he was alive, and Ethry was dead.
Everything stopped. His Sky Touch slammed all brakes, everywhere. Qi did not flow. Qi did not even vibrate at its frequency. He swept his now whole body and saw his meridians restored with dantian shining brightly.
The emerald iron was filling his dantian but that was not all. A glimmering shape of prismatic scales was dissolving in his dantian!
His eyes snapped open as emerald light flowed out of him.
"LIKE HELL I WILL ALLOW THIS!!" He isolated every part and piece of Ethry within him. He used his spirit Qi to confirm. Her soul was still there! She was not alive but neither completely dead.
His touch suddenly advanced. He pushed it far beyond anything he had ever done and realized he was desperate. He felt pressure building but he did not give a damn.
"You would waste her sacrifice, human?" A voice pierced his worry and he saw a strange creature. It had coal black eyes with dark gold skin. It wore some kind of armor that nearly blended with its skin but Lind could perceive it barely.
"Waste it?! I would undo it! I will not let her die for me! She is a baby. I promised to protect her. I am not going to live and she dies!" His words did not seem to surprise the creature yet it shook its head.
"I appreciate your thoughts and sense your sincerity, but it is beyond you. If you were a Heaven Realm, maybe, but not now." The being looked actually sad but Lind then smiled.
"I am a 6 elemental. I have fought my cultivation for every day for nearly ⅔ of my life. What you say is impossible, I call Tuesday!" Lind's eyes then blazed with emerald light. The being then looked shocked as prismatic light slowly coalesced over the human's dantian location.
"You will die. You will return to what you were before, do you understand that?" The being seemed keen to know if Lind understood his dying body would return if he completed his action.
"Of course I will. I knew I was going to die when I faced the Immortal. Promise me, please promise me to return her to my wives. I beg of you, grant me that much at the end." The being now looked at Lind with deep respect.
"You have accepted the consequences, I would be quite rude to deny such a request. I promise to prevent her from attempting it again. May I know your name?" Lind looked up at it and nodded. Everything hurt once more as Ethry was carefully removed from his dantian.
It hurt more the second time.
"Lind Frey. Thank you, whoever you are." The being nodded and bowed. Lind could not withstand its name so it could only look on at a human that was damned rare in the cultivation world.
Most would be glad to be alive and grieve the loss of the friend that sacrificed, but this man was following his Dao to the end. He was unbending and unstoppable.
"May your next life be as wonderful as this one." Lind smirked up at the words.
"No one can be that lucky 3 times. I thank you for the thought. Now, LIVE DAMN IT!" Lighting crashed from above and darkness claimed Lind once more. On his stomach was a prismatic dragon with no wings but a silver mane as she slowly opened her pale eyes.
"No! Lind NO!" Her vocabulary had suddenly improved but the being was not surprised. It quickly encircled her with its aura and she could not break out. "Let me out! I have to save him, you have to let me!"
The being sighed. The human was right. No one could be that lucky again.
"Normally, I would obey a Divine Dragon, but I promised a cultivator to protect you and return you to his wives. It will be difficult but it can be done. Please respect his choice. He loves you enough to save you over living on." The being was frankly stunned but then a familiar pressure suddenly descended behind him.
A well tanned blonde human with blue eyes had come. She wore a form hugging white dress with a golden cord cinched at the waist.
"Ah, was this fine man one of yours?" There was no sarcasm in its voice, but true respect. She bowed to him and moved to stand over Lind. Tears formed as she looked down at him.
"He wanted to meet us again. He fought off a Fiend at the Soul Realm and won, you know." Her words shocked it. The likelihood of that was very low, but this woman could not lie to him. He was far above her.
"I see, I am sorry little Apprentice. He was true to his Dao till the end. You should be proud, unlike me." The being glanced once more at the charred figure not far away. The woman glanced at it as well but only looked on in pity.
"We can only hope they will do their best. The temptations of cultivation are many." It nodded at her and was glad to see she was not too distraught. "May I collect his soul. I want to guide it to the samsara."
It saw no issue but before it could nod, they both felt a pressure from above.
They did not recognize it as a tribulation nor was it karma. What was it then? Ethry had been wailing when she froze and looked above in fear. She suddenly curled in on herself and both beings noticed her odd behavior.
What could scare a Divine Dragon that badly?
Emerald light slammed into Lind Frey's body. It was powerful but that was not all that was there.
"ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRR!" The being and the woman stumbled backward as a bestial roar shook the heavens.
"By the spirits! What kind of luck does this boy have?!" They both watched as a sinuous form made of emerald light coiled around Lind before sinking into him. His skin seemed to glint for a moment before resuming its human appearance.
His body was repaired but it was very pale. He seemed like a cracked pane of glass. One good push, and it would shatter.
"How?!" The woman was stunned, happy, and confused in that order. The being let Ethry go as she happily wrapped around the now breathing Lind Frey.
"Soul Trial. His soul was tried and sent back transformed. His fate has been changed, again." The being was smiling and it revealed a rictus of sharpened teeth that made most humans flinch. "The spirits judged this, so rejoice, his life is not over yet!"
The woman nodded but then glanced around.
"You can send them back. I have maintained the stability of this now Ruined place. I already sent back another one earlier." She nodded but before she waved her hand she gently stroked Lind's face and smiled down at him.
"I expect you to keep that promise." She bowed to Ethry and cerulean light enveloped them before they were whisked away.
"Come, I have a soul to disperse to oblivion and this place has to collapse with it." She nodded as they both ascended back into the boiling sky. The burnt corpse was gone and the ground began to fracture as the sky was rent in half.
Burning light flashed through and ripped everything apart into oblivion. The slaughterhouse was almost completely destroyed. The only piece spared was a damaged mobile suit that was gently sent into the rifts to find a resting place in the realms.

Lind spent a month recovering. He was out of danger but his meridians were very fragile. His dantian was not much better but he was at the peak of Iron Tier from what healers could tell.
Pills and elixirs were dangerous so they could not be used in his current state.
He awoke in fear but Ethry was happily snuggled up to him so he calmed considerably but he also saw his wives looking at him in worry.
"What happened?" Lind saw all 4 look at each other before they looked like they were about to speak, a voice cut them off.
"LIND!" A flash of light nearly blinded him and then a little girl in a silver dress that shifted colors was hugging him! She had a similar head of hair that was silver but shifted colors randomly.
"Ethry?!" An innocent cherubic face smiled up at him in joy. Her skin was actually quite hard with very fine scales. It looked human but she was happily hugging him tight as tears fell.
"I am glad you are not dead. You are not allowed to die, ever!" Her weeping voice tugged at his heart strings as he was suddenly thwocked in the head.
"Well said, sister Ethry. We will not allow this fool to die" Qing was looking at him sternly but Lind then realized. He was alive!
How was he alive?!
He tried to look at his body but pain lanced immediately within.
"Don't do anything for now, Lind. You are alive but just barely. Even pills and elixirs are dangerous for you." Lind was shocked but then his face darkened.
"Is Bastion alive?" All 4 nodded and he breathed a sigh of relief.
"What happened Lind?" Shoti brought the question they all wanted to know and he relayed it to them. Their shock was complete but he then went on.
"Someone taught him, which means there are more of them. Reach out to the higher ups of the Heavenly Maidens. We need to scour them. We need to find them and somehow break them." Lind's dark green eyes sparkled. His rage was stronger for some reason but he brought it under control.
"Rest, beloved. You have a long road ahead. We will be with you." Cyntilla grabbed his hand and he smiled up at her virulent green eyes. She was so beautiful right then. They all were.
"So, how bad is it that you won't tell me?" Lind knew they had to know what happened but they were not volunteering so he wanted answers. They all froze and none wanted to talk. A new voice came in.
"Is Big Broth–" Fey poked her head in and her eyes widened in joy to see Lind awake before she sprinted to him. She was about to tackle him when 4 pairs of arms restrained her. She got sheepish and gently hugged him
It was bad. The fact they stopped her was very bad.
"How long will I be like this?" His serious tone told them they could not hold off. Fey looked at them and then pouted.
"Big Brother is invincible. He can take it! The healers said it will take a century to heal." Fey looked at him and Lind could not react. A century! He was stuck in the Iron Tier for a century!
Rage like nothing he had felt before roiled through him. His pride could not accept it and something strange happened.
"ROAR!" A bestial roar came from Lind that sent Ethry hopping into Annabelle's arms. More, his skin glinted with emerald for a moment but then returned to flesh. Lind felt a little better but he was still fragile.
"What–what was that?" Annabelle was shocked but all of them had heard it. A booming voice suddenly rumbled.
"Lind Frey is not entirely human anymore. Further, I am not familiar with the bloodline but the fact a Divine Dragon bowed to him should speak volumes about it." The spirit appeared and looked very serious. "I heard your words. Lind Frey, I need you to swear on Heaven and Earth all you said is true."
Lind did so instantly and the spirit began to shake with rage.
"Understood. This will be addressed in the Alliance. The Heavenly Maiden Sect is part of that. Leave it to them. You may rest here. The tournament is over but many did not return. A commensurate reward shall be decided later." The spirit vanished and LInd was practically forced to lay down.
They chatted after that but many questions were in all their eyes. Lind especially wanted to know what had happened to him. How was he alive and what had he become? He had a century to waste so he could focus on studying for now and then resume his path.
He had to master the World Realm and progress to the Gold and Diamond Tier. Perhaps a century of recovery would not be so bad.
