Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1740 1739 - Long Awaited Answers

Chapter 1740 1739 - Long Awaited Answers

Lind felt nervous. He was preparing for what he hoped was 1 of 2 victories against very steep odds but what made him fidget internally was a meeting with 2 beings that had been with him technically since the beginning.

While he had the chance to meet with them before, it had been fleeting or special circumstances. There had simply been no time. His life as a Divine Realm had all been about growing stronger and progressing his skills to the Master Tier without sacrificing his future at the same time.

There was one more battle after the current one that only a few knew about. If he died, the Divine Lands would enjoy a time of relief, but only for a time.

The cage holding the original Bastard would likely collapse or eventually fall and become more fuel for him once again.

He came to the tower and like most of the others, it was made of the pale red stone of the mountain range. It was decorated with symbols he did not all recognize but knew enough to know it was a gathering of the former faction that had been working with resurrecting souls to guide them to help the war.

The idea was simple to understand and hardly unique. Divine Realm cultivators could perceive the flow of time, space, and souls if they possessed the gifts or Arts to touch on it. Finding potential candidates of great skill was far easier when it was known they were reborn!

Heaven and Earth would not just reincarnate intact a random person like that. They either earned the chance or had a special fate heavily influenced by Heaven and Earth.

Recruiting early and even helping the reincarnation along would reap a benefit with a minimal initial investment from the perspective of a Divine Realm cultivator.

That part he had worked out long ago, yet the faction had actively tied volunteers to those people. That part made it more dangerous for them, yet could reap far more rewards.

His actions had helped clear the way for the pair to grow far stronger at a speed normally impossible. His own speed was only possible due to his extensive research for his own needs, the help of countless others, but also because the 2 women had been there at times he critically needed them.

They gave him the chance to survive and learn things few lower realm cultivators could grasp.

He had thanked them many times yet they had never been able to answer all his questions. He had to find his own path and not be too influenced by them until he had.

The guards were both alien races he had not met before. One had 2 arms made of a silvery substance that flowed even as they stood still. They held a weapon with dark metal and a curved blade at the end of it.

It was almost a scythe but curved tighter to clearly decapitate a humanoid figure with ease or rip a limb away. They were over 3 meters tall as well so their reach was impressive. Gender was totally missing from the features at the head was covered by the same dark metal of a helmet with no visible eye holes.

Their companion was almost mistaken for a fused hybrid race but the 3 limbs were not flesh and bone. They were crystalline! The woman was relatively humanoid otherwise and he sensed that the limbs were able to shift position as a very faint clicking sound reached his ears as they shifted.

She had no apparent weapon but he suspected her body was the weapon.

They bowed low to him as the wood door just vanished. The array was elegant but he still found it a waste when a door could just open.

He bowed back and found most inside bowed as he passed even if they were Master Tiers. The survivors of the Eastern Continent were the only forces that brought everyone to the Blessed Crimson Range.

He respected them for all they had sacrificed over the epochs against the Fiends. The very thing that helped them advance had also cost many their futures when their recruited members betrayed all existence.

He ascended to a set of rooms that were clearly made to be bigger on the inside and thus save space for more towers on the outside. Inside were just 2 women he was very familiar with.

A blonde woman with a simple set of white robes cinched in a golden belt had been replaced with a far more robust battle robe of dark gray. She had several artifacts on her limbs and hanging from her waist.

They were well cared for and powerful. He also recognized some of his own work. Her blue eyes lit up as she smiled at him.

Her companion was seated at a desk with her dark hair cut short and slightly sweating as she inscribed onto several metal plates in front of her. Her array skill was familiar to him as based off of Annabelle's skills.

Her eyes were focused but she also smiled as she likely sensed him. A plate of tea and snacks was on a larger table where they gestured for him to sit.

"It has been so long since we last spoke. Your family and the Harmonic Dragons were beyond our best hopes." The blonde spoke up and he smiled at them.

"How should I address you now?" Several times they had tried to tell him but either restrictions held it back or simply a matter of no time for such personable conversations.

The brunette looked up and her hands delicately lit up with a projection of stars.

"I am known as Starweaver. My specialty is hearing the flow of energies, especially at night, into powerful techniques. Starlight is used to empower my arrays and other abilities." He recognized that name!

It was referenced as the main creator of the major arrays currently in use 2nd only to his own creations!

"I have become the Sage of Artifice thanks to the many insights you have shared with us." He smiled but before he could ask for their given names, both became grim as they put down whatever they were working on.

He sat up and waited for whatever they were going to say. He was caught off guard when they bowed low to him.

"Wha–?!" They stopped him from continuing as a jade slip was placed in front of him. He sunk his aura into it and felt shocked at what he saw.

It was a detailed breakdown of every reincarnator they had selected to help their faction. The vast majority had gone wrong or failed. The latter was not a problem as that was life but the former was disturbingly high!

He also noticed very familiar descriptions. The mobile suit cultivator that made false Inheritances, the Artificer that tried to take his body, and so many other things he had faced or destroyed!

It was small wonder his karmic restitution was insanely high! He had been correcting vast tracts of karmic retribution all over the place!

It had mystified him how swiftly he accumulated it compared to even other divine bloodlines or True Lords. That question had always bothered him.

"You have become more than our personal help but restored many of our friends and allies' path forward. Thank you for that." Starweaver smiled widely at him. "Now for the part you need to know. Why us and you, right?"

He nodded and the Sage of Artifice placed a black disc that opened up with 6 petals before he saw a complex array of lines flowing over a tapestry of gold. It was an image of some kind of massive artifact he had never seen before.

"Long ago, the founders of our faction realized waiting for good seeds to fight the Fiends was taking too long. Also, advancing in the Divine Realm required more external connection to condense Mysteries as you have long learned." She then infused Qi into the artifact.

He saw familiar figures working some kind of pedestals doing something as the 2 women, in the white robes he remembered, stood on platforms.

The lines moved and began to touch them as well as others on other platforms. He could almost feel the profound aura even in just the projection.

The other platforms began to shimmer as faded copies began to lift from the bodies and enter the artifact after a single line attached to them but some did have groups pulled by a line as well.

Not all were pulled away. Some platforms turned dim and the beings on it were left disappointed. The 2 women were still on theirs when they clearly were about to give up. Then, a familiar emerald energy enveloped them!

What?! His eyes became saucers as he knew what that was! His harmony! It was not from the future nor a change but it was him!

The 2 figures were faintly pulled out before the image vanished.

"The Tapestry of Samsara was made by experts to try and grasp souls with the potential to be reborn with complete memories. We would enhance that gift by tying our fates together. Our karmic blessing would allow your fortune to shift but we had to have fate in the first place. That, of course, is not normal for a newly reborn soul compared to us in the Divine Lands." Lind nodded as that was normal.

"The Tapestry allows for possible interactions before we could ever meet. In other words, eventually, we would have met and the Tapestry allows things to happen in reverse order and open a path previously impossible to achieve." As Starweaver spoke, Lind felt his blood freeze in his veins.

For anyone else that might be true but a new thought came through. While the harmonic energy in the projection came from him now, the connection may not have worked before! His many lifetimes always ascended in the Eastern Continent until he met Karu and began shifting his life.

If the artifact worked the way they claimed a long held answer finally came to him! He had wondered why he had been chosen but it was the other way around. They had always been going to meet and fight together!

His starting over had allowed them to meet earlier and shift his fortune! He knew where the shift started! That Tapestry! It was affected by shifts in fate and what greater shift than not only a person reborn but one that started over!

The change his other selves had worked so hard for had been that moment! His current path was truly due to the pair before him!
