Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1738 1737 - The Plan

Chapter 1738 1737 - The Plan

The war council gathered at a large hall that had been built expressly for the purpose of the meeting. It had no flourish or unnecessary decorations. It was simply a grand hall with several rows of seating for the higher ups while a jade panel lined the entire upper wall.

It allowed both projection and broadcast to those unable to physically be there. Lind did not know why they all seemed annoyed at the spartan design. He just needed something that worked.

Someone else could make it work better later.

As if reading his mind, he saw an older man tapping at the wood and stone with a frown. He had simple robes at a glance but they were works of art. The steel staff was just the same. Simple but anyone thinking it was just a walking stick would pay dearly.

"Hmmm, decent support and simple function, but why no flare? He could have–" The man froze as Lind was now behind him. His graying hair framed a squarejawed face. Lind smiled as he held out his hand.

"An honor to meet you Elder Forgeheart." Lind had heard of the expert with the Dao title of Forgeheart. He was the foremost expert in the field of Forging, obviously. The old man patted his chest but smiled oddly at him.

"From what I have seen and heard, you should carry my title but then you are more than just Forging." The pair spoke in depth about the field until the man tapped the wall.

"Why so little effort? This place could see much use in the future," Lind lost his smile before he became grim.

"This place is the corpse of the Living Ridge Dral. It is not a place I intend for any permanent residence. The towers may stay but no city will ever be built save by the beasts allowed by the deceased senior's Divine Intent." Others might be taking it for granted but Lind could feel it.

The Elder Forgeheart blinked before gently placing his hand on the structure. He closed his eyes and Lind felt something profound flow from his body. His eyes went wide as while he was proud of his Forging, the elder in front of him absolutely deserved his title!

His eyes opened and instead of the dark amber they had normally, it seemed like they shifted through the truth of all around them!

"I see. It seems I have been rude." The old man then bowed low. "Thank you for your hospitality, Living Ridge senior." Lind smiled as he felt the Divine Intent react slightly.

"Anyway, I know you have come for the meeting but what do you wish to do, senior? The majority of the artifacts and weapons have already been made by me and other 6 elemental Maesters." It was not surprising to meet such an esteemed elder in the Blessed Crimson Range yet at the war council?

The work of refiners and Forgers were essentially done or close to it. They were committing everything so nothing would be left. They would win or die. Facing the Fiends, the moment a weapon or armor broke, they would die for sure.

The Fiends were in their final steps too. It would not be an easy fight at all.

Elder Forgeheart smiled and his staff shifted into a glaive with ease. He then flared it as if it was an extension of his body. His smooth movements were complemented with the whine of the blade slicing the air.

Lind was firmly impressed.

"Forging was my way of bringing things back into the world I had taken from. Besides, my guild is full of people like me. We know we need to fight or all are doomed." Lind smiled wide at the words.

He wished far more were like the man in front of him.

He bowed low and moved to his seat. Lind saw a few faces he knew of course but the vast majority were by reputation or recognizable symbols. He saw the old supreme sects of his Celestial Fields.

His forces had fairly friendly relations as they were all technically of the same faction. Still, some glared at the corrupted demon forces present.

Lind did not care. Demons that were bloodthirsty still wanted to live and were pragmatic when it came to survival. Actually, they were the only segment of powers to actually arrive with all their Master Tiers long before he summoned the rest.

The krakens and leviathans caused a stir but even more so when they sat near him. He knew they were amused by it all. He just sighed as he took in the various human, demons, and other races.

Divine Lord Aristrossa seemed to now be representing not just the fused races but other beast races as well. He saw she was surrounded by several more pure aquatic races from around the Divine Lands.

She smiled at him and he bowed back. He would not have reached his current realm without her help.

Finally, all were settled. Lind blinked his eyes and the jade stone panels lit up. All were silenced as a massive projection of the Eastern Continent floated above them.

While the major landmarks were unchanged, crimson lines began to appear while homes of elite factions were altered.

Lind did not have to explain it as a black mass began to cover nearly half the landmass. It was not knowledge from Karu for the current situation.

Lind had behind a lot of artifacts for the hope of using them to plan the final assault on any of the continents. The Western Lament would have been the worst case scenario while the most likely was before them.

[Before I lost contact with my artifacts, this was the current state of the Eastern Continent. The Bastard has organized all the surviving Fiends not destroyed by your combined efforts or consumed by him to stabilize his foundation.]

His transmission shocked many. They had no idea how bad things really were. The exact number of Fiends, or any force, were never totally known but they had always had so many?!

To cover half a continent was not impossible with sheer numbers of any race but a fully cohesive one?! There was no chance at all!

The fact that was only after so many of them had been wiped out made all present break out in a cold sweat.

The Fiends could have overrun the Divine Lands at any time!

The truth of it was staring them in the face not only now but before as well. Billions had been harvested without any chance to save them until Lind's forces arrived with his ships and weapons.

They were saved but had realized how weak they truly were in the face of the Fiends revealed power.

[The Bastard will have his forces focus on consuming as many Divine Realm cultivators as they can. They are not trying to win. It is important you understand that. They will exhaust themselves before being consumed themselves.]

His words made many go pale.

A woman with very slender looks stood up. Her pristine white robe with golden emblem marked her plainly as the Supreme Grand Elder of the Heavenly Maiden Sect. Her hair was pure gold not naturally but as part of her path. She could crush almost anyone with her hair alone!

She was a body cultivator that exuded power with every move of her elegant hands.

[Divine Lord Lind Frey, what exactly are we to do then? You are saying they will fight without regard for their lives and kill us all?] He bowed to her as she was a mid Master Tier and asked the very question he hoped.

[Not without regard. They will sacrifice anything other than True Death. So long as they can fight and live, they will endure. That is what we are aiming for. We must destroy them but only after severing them from the Bastard.]

His hand sliced open the space next to him and an emerald blade appeared. The moment it was in his hands, the air distorted around it. Experts were shocked but then jaws fell as more weapons appeared.

They were not just emerald but of all colors. Yet, they all felt somewhat similar. Harmonic weapons!

[Every person, regardless of what they use, will need these weapons. Body cultivators will get special armor as well. These weapons are not infinite in use, yet they will buy the greatest commodity of all–time.]

The projection shifted to show a Fiend with flowing lines out to various races and then leading back to the massive shadowy figure that was the Bastard.

[All Fiends, regardless of where they are, are just resources to the Bastard. They gather lives into themselves and grow stronger. They eventually become strong enough to be of use to him. The lower realm cultivators make up for their lack of quality by using quantity.]

People began to grasp the full horror of it all. The Fiend race, the enemy of them all, were just tools for a single being?!

His words left them all floored but then understanding came to them.

[Before you get too excited, know the Bastard is well aware of my goal. He will have taken what countermeasures he can. It is important to not simply slice the dantian of a Fiend, you have to completely disintegrate it. It will take longer but for each Fiend destroyed, it decreases what he can absorb.]

They all grasped it! The Plan was to deprive the Bastard of his necessary resources to trap him in the Master Tier! The more time they bought, the greater the chance Lind could find to kill or restrain him!
