Chapter 1735 1734 - Those That Survived
Chapter 1735 1734 - Those That Survived
There was a stretch of mountain peaks in the heart of the Southern Continent. They were neither artistic nor stood out in any way, yet many beasts were respectful near them. Their race memories all grew silent near the mountains stained in red.
The Blessed Crimson Range was taken by demon sects that all collapsed under mysterious circumstances hundreds of thousands of years ago. No wars nor any sign of conflict, just empty halls and crumbling ruins left behind.
Humans and other races tried the same and it all ended without variation until even Fiends avoided the place.
The Harmonic Dragons were the first to arrive without reverence or prejudice. They quickly analyzed the range and found it was actually a massive corpse!
It was the corpse of a very rare variation of the stone dral, the Living Ridge Dral!
It could only be born in the Divine Lands and was a certainty to reach the Master Tier. It was so rare even dragons gave it respect.
It was a protector, the Shield of All it was called. It could move the soil of the world to its whim or cause mountains to be weapons.
Its corpse would become a place of safety so long as it was respected. If the Master Tier dral had consciously left an intent behind, it would be impossible to resist.
Lind found it ironic such a beast now became the refuge of the major powers that were left. The Harmonic Dragons had gently integrated with the power of the Blessed Crimson Ridge.
They opened the way and settled in places to protect those that came later. Some had to flee the Eastern Continent while most came from the Southern Continent and Northern Continent.
The Western Lament had been hollowed out from what Sun had communicated to him.
His ship descended through the clouds and towers appeared. A shimmering dome covered a massive area that extended beyond the border of the corpse.
He nodded in approval as he saw the barrier. He waved his hand and the barrier became stronger as he improved it slightly. His action caused many auras to lock onto him.
He smiled as many dragons, demons, and so many others flew up only to freeze when they saw him.
[My friends, it has been too long.] His transmission made many rejoice. His ship easily passed through the barrier to reveal it also doubled as an illusion. The towers were still there but now they were surrounded by a fleet of very familiar ships.
A slender woman with shifting multicolored skin stepped forward and bowed low to him.
"Divine Lord Lind Frey, thank you for all your efforts to help us." Lind arched an eyebrow at her. She was a peak Journeyman Tier Elemental. Why was she acting like she was superior to him?
He noticed the tension in the group of familiar faces. He sighed as he could see what was going on.
"You are from which power?" His voice was calm but the woman arched an eyebrow at him. She did not seem to like his tone. Still, he was a Divine Lord.
"I am from the Dance of Blades Faction, we are the current leader–" Lind let his aura flare just a bit. The entire area shook before the mountains shifted slightly below.
The entire weavings, arrays, and all the things that made the current Blessed Crimson Range safe was keyed to him alone. Her eyes went wide in shock as he smiled.
"The time for politics is over. We live or we die. There is no other path ahead. If you all are trying to exert your past power as if it mattered, that time is gone. The Fiends saw to that." Lind no longer cared.
He was past catering to pompous fools that felt simply existing longest meant something.
Power was all that mattered, not the longevity or presumed supremacy they had once held.
The crack of a whip followed by laughter drew his eyes and he smiled wide. Shoti flew over and kissed him deeply. He then updated her on Ethry which she quickly acted on. She flew and then reappeared with Qing carrying her to one of the towers.
The Elemental frowned more deeply but she no longer had her mystique to rely on.
Lind waved his arms and his image was projected to all the residents of the range.
[I am Divine Lord Lind Frey. My race, the Harmonic Dragons, settled this place at my command but it was the senior who fell long ago that made it possible. It is one of the few places the Fiends could not grasp in their claws.] His voice boomed in the minds of all.
He was aware of all the games the old monsters liked to play. They needed a wake up call.
[The Bastard is currently recovering but you now know his power. You know the FIends have been holding back all this time. The 6 elementals and Harmonic Dragons can handle most Fiends, but not him. I am all you have.] His aura flared once more with emerald flames.
The instant that happened, screams came from all over. The Elemental was shocked as several figures died but Lind was not surprised.
Thralls were one thing, but agents were not as tainted by Fiends. He was not taking any more chances. Any spy had to die.
His harmony was uniquely effective against the slightest Fiend Qi no matter how hidden it was.
[You have survived the first of the final wave. The Bastard is on his way to a higher realm. He needs us all to do it. He will consume us all. He had done it before. By the grace of Heaven and Earth, we were given another chance, just this one.] The Elemental now stumbled in mid air as she felt his unspoken Oath.
He was not lying! She knew it and her skin paled at it.
His words meant they had all died before and now the only being that could stop it was one she had treated as an ant!
He did not care. He moved past her and all the previous people he recognized were now bowing to him in the air. He shook his head but finished his announcement.
[I am not asking for fealty or obedience. Just stay out of my way or help. That is it. I want to save who I can.] His shoulders felt heavy. He was not hiding anymore. He had laid it all out for everyone what was on the line.
They were facing extinction or salvation, nothing else left.
He waved his arm and the projection stopped. He turned back to the Elemental woman and she bowed to him far more respectfully.
"Leave and take care of your people. This war is far from over." She vanished and his friends closed in. He updated them and confirmed most of them had safely arrived or were still in the Celestial Fields.
Lind then ordered his crew to take the ship to the tower his family held. He flew to another place.
The towers were set up by respective powers and factions. The Harmonic Dragons dedicated the positions but little else. Thus, he knew where to go to find old friends.
One of the towers was owned by an alliance of sects he was deeply familiar with. The Divine Sword Sect and Heavenly Maiden Sect were the few surviving members of the faction that had helped with his rebirth.
The faction leaders were his goal and 2 women smiled as he floated down. He realized they were both low Master Tiers now that he was at the peak of the Journeyman Tier.
The blonde and brunette had been involved with his life yet he barely knew them.
"You have come so much farther than we hoped. Have we lived through this before?" Lind waved his arm and explained all he knew. As he relayed the truth, the women became pale.
He knew their progress was tied to his successes and they were grateful. He was grateful to them. His rebirth would have been normal without their interference. They had ensured his memories were mostly intact.
He spoke with them but time was not his ally. He had to consolidate his foundation and evaluate his strength. Still, he wanted to know more about them. The brunette had paid a price for helping him with his Master.
"What will you do now?" He smiled at the blonde. He knew their names but it seemed the bond between them was now broken. He was set on the path.
He left them and found the Sect Masters of the 2 sects he had known since he was a young man.
A woman with bright pink hair sat to his left with an older woman to his right and a plain sword at her hip. They were strangers to him but his authority was unquestioned in their eyes.
"Divine Lord Lind Frey, my Heavenly Maiden Sect is ready to respond." The woman in front of him was billions of years older than him but she bowed humbly to him. The other woman simply tapped her sword and Lind smiled.
"You need not bow to me. Your sect branches have been good friends to me. All I ask is that you are prepared to head out and keep the other Fiends busy. I will fight the Bastard." Both bowed low but he frowned at them.
He then made them stand upright in front of him.
"Your sects in my realms were righteous and forthright. I called them friends. They took care of my family and helped me advance. Continue in their spirit and we are allies always." Smiles bloomed on both faces.
He moved on to see what he had to work with. He had to make his next steps clear or there would be chaos. The final war was upon them.
