Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1690 - 1689 - What is Going On?

Chapter 1690 - 1689 - What is Going On?

The broken surface was alien to Lind. He knew nowhere in the USA that should look like small hills ripped open and slammed back together. It was actually the first believable damage he had found.

An impact or major earthquake could reshape the land like that!

The Kun and the violet haired dragon men were resting while Lind examined the Shen. Compared to the Kun, her features were more human. Her skin was fine jade with bright azure hair of several shades.

Their natural forms were night and day apart but it seemed like the Shen had mastered transformation far better than her counterpart.

"I am limited in my diagnosis but I can see they used this perfume to reduce your strength. It is some kind of inhibitor." He began to understand the humans did realize the beasts were far stronger than them.

"Senior is right. I am sorry for my–" Lind frowned. Such a meek person could not be a True Lord! He was not being arrogant but even reaching the Divine Realm would not allow such a shallow attitude to survive a tribulation.

"If you continue the act, I will not be pleased. Tears of anger and frustration were fine but hiding your true self will only hinder our efforts." The Kun snapped up in surprise at his words but the Shen shivered before her attitude changed.

She became cold as her pale sea green eyes looked at him.

"I have found being meek lets others make mistakes, True Lord of Dragons. I appreciate your effort but the poison was not as effective as it seems. I could have escaped at any time." Lind doubted that.

The Kun was nearly as strong as her and the humans were able to cut him open. There was no way he would let them do that!

Still, he did not press the issue. He then stood up and kicked the sleeping dragon hard. The man coughed before groggily looking around.

"Where is the meat?" His question made Lind nearly kick him again.

"Wake up! The 3 of you have some answers to give me!" The trio sat on the barren soil and looked at Lind calmly. "How have you not made more than 13% progress in over a decade?!"

His question finally made all 3 flinch. The dragon looked like he wanted to cause a ruckus but his clear thrashing had established the pecking order. Lind was stronger than all of them!

"The residents are too ignorant of their own world! They insisted to not know–" The Kun started with blaming the humans but Lind slapped him hard. The crack of bone was clear to all.

"Of course they know nothing! They are too busy trying to survive and blaming dead people for their current issues! They do not care about the inconsistencies you all should have noticed!" His words made the Shen narrow her eyes while the 2 men were confused.

"What do you mean by that True Lord Dragon?" Lind pinched the bridge of his nose before he began carving the Earth he once knew. His memory was crystal clear but his carving was surprisingly detailed.

He explained how the tectonic plates worked as well as areas prone to earthquakes or other natural disasters. He then drew the same globe but only the area they were in.

"They seem to think a meteor storm thrashed this planet but that does not explain the level of damage in some of these areas. The west coast is one thing. If the fault line really got riled up or exacerbated, then yea, it was doomed. The rest of this in the south and east though, it is way too much." He then explained the supposed conditions of the rest of the world but none of the 3 seemed to grasp his intent.

He then used the stick to point at the east coast.

"Have none of you explored these damaged areas?!" The Kun and the violet dragon looked like Lind was asking silly questions but the Shen nodded.

"I did try to investigate a place called Ireland as it somehow survived where many island nations were wiped from the globe but I could not determine why it endured. Devastated areas had no clues so we ignored them." Lind was surprised but then wondered if the luck of the Irish was not just a saying after all.

"Why are the others making the humans dig then?" Again the 3 looked at Lind as if he was asking why the sky was blue as an adult.

"There must be some benefits to find in this trial–" The violet dragon began to speak when Lind chopped the top of his head.

"IT IS A BARREN WORLD! HOW DIM ARE YOU ALL?!" All 3 went wide eyed but then tilted their heads.

"Why would a trial take us to a barren world? Trials exist to test us and obtain benefits. That is normal is it not?" The Shen asked but Lind wanted to badly smack them all.

"HEY! OLDER TWIN! DISPLAY THAT FIRST LINE AGAIN!" All 3 flinched at his words but then became shocked as windows appeared in front of all of them!

{Divine Lord Candidate Trial duration currently 13 years, 5 months, and 23 days.}

The 3 beasts looked at the display before their eyes began to go wide. They finally understood!

"The point of the trial is not to test us nor provide opportunity but verify if we are worthy to become Divine Lords?!" The Kun looked pale all of a sudden.

Lind wonder why when he noticed a line on his panel the others did not have.

{Karmic Retribution Incurred: 87%}

Lind looked at his own display but there was nothing. Neither the Shen nor the dragon showed anything either. Why only the Kun?

Lind narrowed his eyes and loomed over the thin man. His dark eyes darted around as sweat formed on his brow.

"Well?" Silence greeted Lind's question but then the Shen spoke up.

"Aside from killing many humans, he also took several women against their will. To my knowledge, he did not kill any of those but he did leave them abandoned when he tired of them." Lind suddenly felt rage rise he had not felt in some time.

"They were just mortals! I simply got bor–!" His head shattered. Lind's fist was covered in blood but did not stop as he completely shattered the Kun's body. The ground further shattered under his attack.

"PEOPLE ARE NOT THINGS!" His words echoed and even the very humans on the border heard the voice clearly without knowing the context.

The dragon and Shen froze as Lind casually killed a Divine Realm as if it was easy!

Lind was heaving breath when a new window popped up.

{Karmic Restitution earned: 35%}

Lind was irritated at that.

"Give it to his victims. They deserve it at the very least." Unexpectedly, golden light flared around Lind before shooting into the sky and dispersing in many directions. It angered him as he saw at least 50 streaks.

"I never touched them! I only came to free my fellow True Lords!" The dragon had his head slammed onto the ground but Lind already knew. He had held a girl hostage.

"What are the other races to you?" The question made the man flinch but he did not hide from it.

"I am a True Lord of the Dragon race! Other races are beneath us!" Lind sighed but it was not a crime to be arrogant. Yet, the next words made him slightly change. "I will atone for my disgraceful actions to the human child! Children should not be abused!"

Lind narrowed his emerald eyes at the dragon. He doubted it was a true axiom of the being but he had already been humbled by Lind before.

"Cross my bottomline, and I will end you." The dragon shivered. He then turned to the Shen. She looked at him as if he was a new being entirely.

"What are you? Dragon clearly but something else." He smiled but ignored the words.

"What I am is irrelevant. We need to make progress as the world faces the end times. You may not be aware but the Bastard is in the final stretch before consuming all the Divine Lands." His words were not news to them.

Yet, his choice of address of the Great One made both suddenly click things into place.

"LIND FREY! You are Lind Frey!" The dragon paled and slammed his head even harder onto the ground. The Shen actually patted down her robes and looked flustered. What was going on?

He was infamous for sure but both acted as if he was some kind of celebrity to True Lords.

"True Lord Frey, unlike others, we knew of your importance. When the Great One issued his threat, Heaven and Earth let us know to protect you at all costs." The Shen revealed a shocking fact. Had that been relayed to the Divine Lord as well?

It did not seem so to him but he could grasp why other True Lords had been told. The Bastard was a threat to all.

Lind sighed but let it go.

"Regardless, trust me, the areas ripped apart I have noted are odd. We need to investigate them." The Shen no longer doubted and even the dragon nodded firmly. As such, Lind looked south.

They were closest to the former Texas area. It was best to start there and see what they could find.

He needed to figure things out quickly!
