Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1689 - 1688 - Prisoner?

Chapter 1689 - 1688 - Prisoner?

Lind was marched into the very complex he had targeted before. The violet haired man was quickly secured but Lind doubted the restraints could hold him if he woke up. Handcuffs of normal steel were hardly an impediment.

The all too familiar steel elevator doors seemed to loom but Lind did notice they did not bind him.

They also said nothing yet he assumed they were going to imprison him. Either way they treated him, savior or enemy, he was going to his first target.

The weapons were of identical make but he noticed a man with 3 chevrons on his collars had a gun with silvery metal that matched the dagger shard in his pocket.

"If I may ask, do you know what that metal is?" The dark haired man glanced at his weapon but said nothing.

An actual ding heralded the arrival of the elevator and Lind noticed chains hanging from the hand rests. He was escorted inside one while the unconscious dragon was taken in another.

The weapons never wavered but Lind calmly felt the elevator descend for at least 5 floors before they came to a basement. He noted the strange stone was present everywhere but he was not able to study it as they had him walk down a lit hallway.

The hum of lights above made him nostalgic but the cells stood out. Far more advanced controls than any he had ever seen was on each wall next to them but the smell of blood was clear from one of them as the other elevator crew arrived.

"You will enter the cell and await interrogation." The leader spoke and Lind sighed internally. His action to save the girl was overlooked but he did note the female scent was confirmed absent.

"Your gratitude is underwhelming. I asked to see your leader but you want to interrogate me?" Lind was calm but a barrel was pressed against his neck.

"You invaders are all the same. You will be–" The gun was suddenly in Lind's hands as he calmly examined it. The group all trembled but none moved.

He confirmed it was the same metal but the density of one part was greater than another compared to the dagger.

"Interesting, it seems to be a perfect heat sink so you can fire until the pack is exhausted. It is clearly not lithium ion or some other rechargeable battery. Better than a tablet I am sure." His words made the leader pause.

"How do you know that?" Lind smiled before dropping a bomb.

"I personally wanted to ask about who won the last few super bowls but I can tell those have not happened since the Shattering. I would ask if you also had a list of survivors but I doubt any of my family lived." The men looked confused.

The leader seemed conflicted.

Lind then saw them secure the other dragon before pointing at the inferior restraints.

"I do not know who you have captured but I can assure you that won't hold him. Despite being weaker than me, I can gauge his strength is enough to break steel easily." The younger men were now really confused as the leader finally backed off.

"Who are you?" Lind smiled before holding out the gun handle first to the man.

"Lind Frey, Divine Progenitor Emerald Dragon. I was formally human and attained a dragon soul that allowed me to change races. Also, I am from your past as a former human who died on my lunch break from an office job. Managers still bastards?" A giggle finally rippled in the crowd but the leader frowned.

"You are still our prisoner." Lind sighed before he vanished and the doors were ripped open. He found a table with an eviscerated beast on it in human form. The man had pale blue skin and hair.

He was a Kun. Lind recognized him now that he had a good look but his eyes were cold. The scent of blood was humans, a lot of humans.

"I see the Geneva Conventions no longer exist." His reference finally broke the leader as that was not something the beasts had ever known.

The guns flared but he ignored them. His robes were burned but he was hardly bothered. He turned to look at them as if they were slow.

"I will say this once. Take me to your leader or I will become impolite." His complete resistance shocked them.

He was about to leave when he realized the Kun was still alive!

Lind moved and quickly removed the medical clamps and sealed up the flesh. Some organs were missing but that was nothing to a Divine Realm.

Indeed, once he allowed him to heal, the Kun recovered at a visible rate. He coughed up blood as his narrow face became a darker blue before opening his black eyes.

"What–what happened?" Lind saw the men staring at the resurrection but he ignored them as he loomed over the prone form.

"You killed a lot of people and they expressed a proper desire to kill you. Thankfully, I got here in time. Now, will you behave or will I have to finish the job?" The Kun looked at him and trembled.

Dragons were far superior to them and Lind's scent terrified him.

"I will comply with senior's wishes." Lind nodded and ripped the restraints apart like they were tofu. He then smiled at the pale men.

"As I said, your restraints are pointless. Where is your leader? Also, where is the female beast person? If she is harmed, I will not be polite." The leader swallowed but he snapped his arm down and made Lind sigh.

He instantly absorbed the blasts as he took all the weapons away. He then knocked them out without much issue.

He searched the leader and found a passkey card.

The Kun looked confused at his actions but dared not kill in front of Lind. The pair then stopped and freed the violet dragon man who was still unconscious.

Despite the difference in races, their strength was unaffected by the restrictions of the trial. The trio came back to the ground floor to find a lot of soldiers waiting.

A woman with red hair was on a platform with what looked like a gatling gun but it was another energy weapon.

"Return to your cells–" Lind was done with waiting. He moved and disarmed and knocked out the entire floor but left the woman in his grasp. Her amber eyes were saucers.

"I have been quite patient and no one had died under my actions. I will say this again. Take me to your leader or free the True Lord under your restraint. Do not test me. I am from this planet originally so you should know what I am capable of." His words seemed to scare her but she then firmed up and tried to bite down hard.

He prevented her with ease and quickly discerned a poison tooth! Was he in a spy movie?!

He knocked her out and simply shattered the glass doors. The trio then came to the tower and once more had to incapacitate the soldiers.

"Senior, would it not be better to kill them?" The Kun spoke up but Lind glared at him.

"Their deaths do not aid us and will only impede our future actions. I know they are unreasonable but the trial is not related to them." That fact Lind was sure of. The world was dying but the survivors were just scraping out their lives as best they could.

The trial would not relate to that as far as he could determine.

The door to the spire was guarded but the pair did not point their weapons and instead opened the door.

"The Commodore will meet with you." Lind stared at them before another sigh escaped.

"Next time, someone asks to meet the leader, try that first. Get some first aid to those guards as they will have headaches." He entered the spire and found only an elevator. He ignored it as he scanned the small lobby.

He then found a hidden door and shattered the stone to pieces before walking up them. He followed his nose up at least 10 floors before he realized the perfume scent was strongest there.

He frowned as he sensed no distress but he pushed on the door bar and it opened to a nicely carpeted floor. It was not bad as the beige carpet and white walls were plain but smooth. It did not seem like a prison but more like a cheap hotel.

The trio moved until they came to a suite of rooms that were clearly half the floor. Lind paused as he checked and his face darkened.

He blew the door inward to find a man happily chatting with a chained woman. She was stoic but looked shocked as the door blew inward. The human was blond and good looking but he did not seem worried.

"So, you can sense each other. As you can see, your companion and I are in the midst of–" Lind became cold before appearing before the woman with azure colored hair. She was a Shen and her tears made pearls!

She was freed instantly as Lind lifted the man up by his throat.

"I really hoped you all finally grasped the need to survive in this cruel world but it seems mankind never changes. I can smell how you hit her and hurt her to make her cry!" Lind really could smell it. His scent matched the red marks on her face but she blushed at his words.

"Senior–" He held up his free hand. He had no need for her to explain. The man sneered at Lind.

"You will never leave her alive! We can kill–!" Lind was sorely tempted to kill him but simply let him pass out due to lack of oxygen.

"We are leaving." His grim tone brooked no argument. He picked up the Shen woman and the 4 of them vanished from the room. The air shattered as they broke the sound barrier leaving.

Prisoners? They were only prisoners because the humans got lucky. Lind guided them to the west where no cities were and let the Kun and other dragon recover. He had a lot of questions for the 3 of them and he had no time to waste.
