Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1680 - 1679 - Have Always Been Here

Chapter 1680 - 1679 - Have Always Been Here

Karu looked in awe and horror at her surroundings. She had seen Lind pull off miracles in many timelines but nothing compared to what he had just done!

Lind had condensed his last Heaven Mystery just before they launched the ship. Rather than speed by thrust or tearing through space, he had done something she had not known was possible.

He had infused the very heart of the ship with his Heaven Layer Mystery energy! The reaction had been powerful but what truly shocked her was what came next.

The sigils that had always been just emerald or gold now lit up with pearl white energy and soared around the massive vessel. They did not launch into the air but seemed to slide into a yawning chasm of energy.

Instead of seeing something on the other side, it shimmered like liquid! The vessel was then swallowed by it before she understood what happened and they were in the sky of the Eastern Continent!

How?! No power even by Master Tiers could cover such a distance instantaneously! Teleportation arrays could connect 2 points but it still took time!

What took years could be reduced to a month or less depending on the distance between.

The sole exception to such limits were if several Master Tiers worked together to tear through space and rip a hole to cover great distances but even then, it was limited to hopping one continent from coast to coast.

Crossing the entire realm was literally unheard of even in legend!

The fact he had power to spare to not only attack normal Divine Fiends but the Great One was injured left her just completely floored. Nothing made sense!

Lind was calmly triaging with other healer groups as if he had not done something so ridiculous but Gaia was helping her guide the ship to a large area to set down for the moment.

Once the ship detected the surface, it entered a kind of hover mode before all the controls became sealed save to her, Gaia, and Lind.

She knew he used weavings to take a soul imprint but she did not understand how he did not see the loophole where they could be captured and forced to use the ship.

She pushed it aside as she came onto the deck only to find a tall, pale woman with prismatic eyes shimmering looking down at her. Her instincts as a nine-tailed fox flared but she knew the woman of old.

Cupping her hands, Karu greeted Ethry.

"Lady Ethry, it is a pleasure to meet you." The woman seemed to glide up to her before her chill hands grasped her chin. Technically, Karu was stronger than Ethry but only a fool tested a dragon's power.

"Do not mock me, I am well aware of what you are. Lind ignores it but I do not." Karu was confused before her burnt orange eyes went wide. She tried to explain but a beast was not one to reason where their mates were concerned.

"Your scent is not on him so stop your foolishness now." Karu reflectively remembered several scenes from the futures she had lived through and Ethry's eyes went wide!

Scent was impossible to ignore for either of them and Ethry had sensed what Karu had just reacted to! Ethry herself!

"You dare?!" Flames appeared in both her hands but Karu very calmly used her own memories and skill to disperse them with ease. The intimate knowledge was not solely as a former member of the Frey Clan but in battle training as well.

Ethry froze and glanced in concern at her hands. The strands of Dao so effortlessly applied had disrupted her ability to conjure her own dragon flame!

"Honestly, I remember you being more patient." Karu slipped up at that moment but Ethry then snapped the restraints on her flames. It seemed Ethry was not in a good mood at all!

Gaia was trembling but Karu did not move. Instead, she summoned 2 daggers before her body seemed to leave after images behind. It was not speed, but Time she was manipulating.

The most dangerous Divine Realm cultivators were those that touched deeply on Space or Time. Only Mystery Grade artifacts or energy could overcome them.

Ethry clearly had not fully mastered her Mystery energy as Karu easily used the hilts of her daggers to slam Ethry's chest and send the dragon skidding across the deck.

It still cost Karu a lot but hopefully it snapped Ethry out of her enraged state. Sadly, Ethry truly was not as she remembered. It was only as the enraged face glared at her that Karu got a really good look before understanding flitted across her narrow face.

"I see, the loss of Cyntilla still weighs on you. She was a valiant warrior but it seems Lind had not had time to tell you yet. She is reborn." The entire time Karu spoke, Ethry was readying herself to launch a massive attack but the last 3 words froze her in place.

"What?!" Ethry suddenly tried to fly across the deck but an emerald line of energy finally snapped her to the deck. It was far more powerful than her and prevented her from transforming.

Karu exhaled as she glared up at the sky. An exhausted Lind Frey looked down frowning at them both.

"First, yes, Cyntilla seems to have been reborn but I do not know anything else. There has been no time. Second, we have a lot to discuss but whatever you are getting from Karu, you are currently mistaken. It is far more complicated between us all." Karu nodded and Ethry finally seemed to calm down.

Lind then looked around and saw no one else had come to the ship landing spot.

"We will need to–" Lind then stumbled midair before nearly falling to the deck. The line holding Ethry faded and she quickly caught him. A gentle and much more endearing face looked at him as he passed out.

Karu sighed. Part of her answers came from that scene. Lind had used himself as a power source for the weapons and then pushed himself with elixirs to help the wounded. Still, she wanted to know how they traversed the entire world like it was nothing!

"Come with me." The 2 women followed Ethry as she carried Lind to a formidable fort set well behind the Gray Line.

She could see towers emitting harmonic Qi of various colors working together to create a barrier. She did not feel too bad crossing it but Gaia practically jumped. An aether child would likely feel invigorated by such power.

It was only when she got to the first gate opening that she felt the space distortions. It looked small but the interior had been expanded to allow greater numbers to shelter inside. It also saved on resources building defenses on the outside.

Karu recognized many faces but saw far more that were not familiar. Almost none were like she remembered in any future. The changes became stark to her now.

Lind was still him but his motivations had shifted. His path was just beyond her, but she had hoped the others would not be that different.

That hope was scattered.

"Honestly, we have been fighting a war and he goes off and finds more wives! How dare he do that without me?!" Karu felt a giggle nearly erupt as there was one sole light in her expectations. Shoti stood with a hand on her hip as she smiled down at Lind.

Her close cropped green hair and violet eyes always sparkled with mischief but now Yue was kneeling in a corner looking nearly burnt red in color!

Gaia was fidgeting in the corner but much calmer as while she was close to Lind, it was only as a disciple. If anything, he was a father figure but kept a tight line between them to avoid actually becoming a father.

Karu smiled at Shoti's words which seemed to throw her off. Nine pure white tails appeared as her Divine Bloodline surged.

"Am I not worthy to be a bride?" It was a reflex but Karu did not retract it nor was she embarrassed. The plain truth was, she missed them.

The one bright spot in those horrific dark days were the times spent with his family. Sometimes she did become a part of them but not always.

Ethry glared but then tilted her head. In fact, all the women in the room felt something off. It was like Karu fit right in.

The feeling could not last but Qing was the one that broke it up.

"You are tired, but not that tired. Wake up and explain this strange woman." Lind cracked one eye before a smile spread on his face. It was the warmest look Karu had seen in a long time.

He had always been cordial with her and the other 2 but he was focused on his goal. While he had not reached the ultimate goal he had grown strong enough to no longer hide away from his family.

Karu then stepped back as he explained how their current reality was reached. When they learned Karu remembered everything of all futures they suddenly put 2 and 2 together!

Lind was then bombarded with questions about their current relationship. Such a powerful being was unable to offer up a single defense until Yue of all people stood up for him.

"STOP IT! He has always been very nice but working himself to exhaustion to complete the ship. He cultivates any other time and never once was inappropriate!" Her cute outburst made Karu smile warmly at her.

Lind had been getting a bit harshly questioned but the reason was to test Yue. Even Lind was shocked as he looked at the young woman. She had come far from the wayward lost princess.

"Do you think you dare to replac–?" Ethry asked a very nasty question but Yue slapped her! No damage was done to Ethry but Yue's hand sliced open on the crystalline skin of a dragon.

"I know of Lady Cyntilla. He told me and the pain in his eyes–" Yue began to tear up then. "I am chasing him for me. I know I am an outsider but when my world collapsed, I built a new one with the man that saved me from oblivion."

Several harsh stares now landed on Lind but Karu knew they understood. Lind saved people. He could not stop.

"I think we have tested enough. She has fire and is clear on the path she walks. What happens from here will be decided in time." Chu suddenly spoke up. Her smokey black and emerald eyes had watched like a predator all that time.

Karu had nothing on her or her daughter. They were entirely new. Still, she felt like she had come home. It was like she had always been here.
