Chapter 1676 - 1675 - Heaven is the Scale
Lind had been so very wrong.
A decade later, Yue and Gaia had both stunned him in becoming Apprentice Tiers like it was easy! Their tribulations were nothing like the terrifying ordeals he had seen some face but the Divine Lord assured him they were acceptable.
Gaia was one thing with the mix of dryad and aether child bloodlines being strengthened, but Yue was completely human. Not a trace of a physique or other factor gave her an edge.
Karu was still only in the Heaven Layer but had condensed all 3 Mysteries. She had to refine and merge them but that could take another century without elixirs or pills to help speed things up.
On that front, Lind had made great success but he had been distracted. Yue had not backed down from her goal one bit!
Her progress and prowess were completely fueled by being a good bride for him!
It gave him nothing but headaches and the strong desire to punch his companions. The Divine Lord pointed out good areas to hold a wedding while Karu wondered how his other wives would feel if he took unilateral action. Gaia was not spared either as she actively helped Yue try to impress him!
He had not hidden the fact he was already married at all and that his wives would have to approve but that only seemed to spur Yue on even more!
It did not help that a bitter feeling came to him that with Cyntilla gone, it seemed like a woman suddenly appeared that wanted to join his harem. It made him triple check for any chains of fate but there was nothing on him.
Karu he dared not check but Yue and Gaia had fairly average chains. They were neither gifted with strong fate nor cursed with weak fate.
The island was now a treasure trove of resources and none argued him harvesting any but he took his time. His previous ship had worked but was flawed in many ways. He had to make drastic redesigns as well as he had a better grasp of his skills now.
He also wanted to take into account the final battle for the Divine Lands. He needed something that could go the distance and carry far more people based on the restrictions from those above the Divine Realm.
He needed more than just transport anymore. He needed a full battleship, no, a full carrier and battleship combined!
It was a massive project and he had only completed the barebones of it in a decade!
Aside from that, he had continually observed the now lively island. A feeding area had been designated for the Ravenous Abyss Worms that even a few Master Tiers could be satisfied on.
He had confirmed their lifecycle included a dormant state but the destruction of the Western Continent had awakened the entire race all at once. The disaster that followed could have been brought under control but the Master Tiers refused to give in.
The tragedy of the entire island could be laid at their feet!
Now, it was a paradise but that was not the only thing. Ascension pools for Celestials appeared! His old home now had a connection to the island despite being across the realm!
The Divine Lord revealed that was actually a normal thing for Journeyman and Master Tiers to set up if they so desired. It was just usually very resource intensive and hard to defend!
Lind would never think of it as a bargain but he was glad his old home had a chance to live far from danger as the Fiends could not currently reach the island due to the harmonic storm.
They would be reduced to natural elements if they tried!
The Divine Lord had confirmed the storm was losing power and it would not be long before it collapsed but Lind had refined his weaving to true peak Dao Grade with a brush on the Mystery Grade.
It taxed the hell out of him but over the decade, it was good training.
His professions were improving drastically with practical application.
Lind was happily working on some system artifacts for his vessel when a group approached him. They were humans at the Sliver and Shard Tier Immortal Realm. He sighed as he stood up.
They were once malnourished and barely surviving on the coasts but they had been able to move inland and thrive. The Divine Lord Quicksilver Worm refused to be responsible for any but his fellow tribesmen so Lind took up the mantle of arbiter for the moment.
He had firmly warned them all that he was leaving and the work he was doing only affirmed that future event.
"True Lord, we have a dispute–" Lind sighed but listened. It was actually very boring but it seemed 2 factions wanted to claim the same stretch of forest. It had herbs, beasts, and even some ores they found beneficial but he wanted to bang heads!
They had a minor dispute and a massive island to harvest from! What was wrong with them all?!
He quickly conjured a detailed map before marking off a few areas. Some grumbled as he seemed to favor one faction over the other until he pointed out the blacked out areas were claimed by Radiant Tier beasts.
The group left but more arrived throughout the day. He cursed them for idiots but until the storm stopped, he was tied to the island directly.
The Divine Lord did confirm the residents of all races could feel him too so hiding was useless but he had quickly enforced the ideal of leaving him in peace as much as possible.
The frustrating part was that he did have the vast experience to regulate their power systems and interactions from his time as Emperor.
Still, he focused mostly on his ship. He had begun to build the inner hull at long last when a much smaller group entered his range of focus.
A grim visage came across his face as he knew what it was and he could not be so brash or flippant as before.
A woman was bleeding and tied up between 2 men. She had clearly been beaten but her cultivation was at the Sky Realm. The 2 men escorting her were Heaven Realms.
Such security did not bode well.
"I believe I told you all to take care of this yourselves. I am not your judge." The 2 men froze as his anger was clear but the woman did not even flinch.
The 2 men knelt and forced the woman to do so as well.
"True Lord, we did not want to come but her crime is too grave for us to be impartial. We did not want–" His aura flared once more. The flowery words were just ways to justify their desire to wash their hands of something difficult.
"Leave, or you will be crippled." He was done indulging them. He had not wanted to take such a harsh action but it had to stop. Crimes had to be handled internally and not depend on his external judgment.
It was one thing when he unleashed chaos at the beginning and it was rampant but that time was long over!
"Lord! She denied your glorious self as our benefactor and accused you of being–" Emerald claws stopped just shy of his eyes. The aura flowing off his transformed arm actually made them soil themselves.
He did notice the woman only smiled.
"I am a dragon and while I did salvage this island, I am only here until I am done. She sees clearly while all of you live in a delusion." He spoke coldly as his emerald flames freed the woman.
She slowly stood up rubbing her wrists. She had one eye swollen shut while the other was bloodshot. They had clearly beaten her up before bringing her to die. It was an escalation he nipped in the bud.
"You see?! I was right! He is not some guardian lord that will rule us all but a cultivator like all of us. He acts for benefits and no other reason!" Lind frowned but did not deny it. He had benefited.
"Your vision is too narrow. You should broaden your horizon or Heaven will make your tribulations difficult later." The woman spat blood before sneering at him. She had no fear.
"You are just a beast! You cannot judge me!" Lind smiled at her then and something about his smile made her tremble.
"I was human, though. I became a dragon later. You are right about one thing though, I have no desire to judge you. There are crimes I will judge, but not this. I want you 3 to spread the word and if you do not, I will know." He turned his arm back into human form.
"B–but Lord! If you let this woman go, the people will lose their faith–" The man went flying but was alive. Lind did not even move. The casual flex of power made even the woman fear him.
"Sigh, for the last time, I am not your lord. I am just a man, a powerful man but that is all. I am not your justice system. Heaven is the Scale for us All!" His words were spoken and instantly a storm of energy flowed into him.
He had been pondering as he worked and his experiences combined with his irritation made him conclude it would be better if Heaven and Earth became more involved but he subconsciously spoke a Mystery!
The power left the 3 in awe as his aura rose dramatically. The Heaven layer became ⅔ full but its glow dimmed as the lower quality Mystery had to be refined. He sighed when it was done but a decade was not a bad timeframe.
"Leave, I have work to do." Lind dismissed them as he began to float into the sky to consolidate his new Mystery and ponder its deeper meanings.
