Chapter 1628 - 1627 - Grand Maester and Mystery Battle Aura
Chapter 1628 - 1627 - Grand Maester and Mystery Battle Aura
It had been the wine!
Lind had been unable to deduce from elixirs how to proceed but he had no such blinders with brewing. He simply tried to make the best he could and realized a shocking thing.
Daos were foundational but they had a relationship that was far more flexible than he believed.
The Dao of Fire was all the Laws of Fire but there still existed the Eternal Flame Dao so what made that different? One was grasping the simple Laws of flame and combining them into a Dao almost anyone could put together but the Eternal Flame Dao he had once encountered was far more.
It was about looking behind the relationships between flame and the rest of the world. To truly claim the Dao of Fire was to see the whole, not just a single aspect. He had been doing the latter for far too long.
He had fallen into the same trap as those that denigrated 6 elementals so long ago!
His success at correcting elemental theory had implanted a bias that all systems were wrong going forward.
It never occurred to him that the system of using Dao as a production resource was correct from the beginning.
Divine Realm cultivators lived for billions of years and had likely run into the same issues he had before correcting them.
Thus, he was the one with a flawed grasp of Dao that time.
To create true Dao Grade elixirs without tailoring them was to grasp the context of the Daos needed to achieve what he wanted with the rest of the relationships accounted for!
It was complex but also back to the origin. Daos did not exist in a vacuum and he had been treating them that way.
The current elixirs were new, even Old Yana did not understand how he made them but he had been making unique elixirs for a long time.
"Restoring Balance Elixir?" Her blind eyes did not even move but her aura dived into the violet and crimson vials before those same eyes went wide. "This–?!"
He laughed before nodding.
"The greatest issue for Divine Realm cultivators is condensing Mysteries. Often after gaining one, their whole internal systems are thrown out of whack or disturbed. These elixirs will allow any Divine Realm cultivator of any race to quickly consolidate their gains." His words seemed like common sense but Old Yana was staring at the elixirs as if they were Divine Relics!
Such an elixir would be in massive demand!
A Divine Realm cultivator could take a century or more to consolidate their foundation after condensing a single Mystery. Lind was odd that he took far less time but he knew his harmony was the cause there.
Without it, he likely would not be much more than partially into the Death Layer. Sun and Karu both told him his speed was insane in that regard but the looming danger of the Bastard still made him feel too slow.
With his advancement, his bottleneck loosened considerably but he now had leads on his 2 other professions! He would be a true Triple Grand Maester in the near future!
Weaving would be a breeze but Forging would take some experimenting.
He also saw ways to improve his new ship!
He was about to exchange insights with Old Yana when Sun burst through the large wooden doors to the elixir complex.
"LIND! TO BATTLE!" He wanted to deny the monkey True Lord but Sun was far more powerful than him! The damned monkey grasped him in his powerful aura and dragged him to their favored arena.
It was a simple cleared area with wards erected to contain their power. Sun expanded his staff and Lind sighed before summoning his Dao Weapon. Both froze as the quality of it had changed!
Lind carefully examined it before realizing the power of his Mysteries had improved! He had subconsciously advanced the fusion of his Mysteries to his Dao of Defiance!
Was it now the Mystery of Defiance? He did not think so. His harmony was more powerful but not like that.
It was more like each layer added to its power but it was still a Dao.
His staff weapon had improved but it irritated him that he could not see all the details. It was like a part of him was knowledgeable but not sharing with the rest!
He had no time to dwell on it as Sun began his attack. The staff was a crimson and gold blur in his hands and feet. He could use his tail too!
Lind transformed his body partially to get his own tail as he had learned there was value in fighting like that.
It had expanded his grasp of his Battle Aura. The staff was a versatile weapon. Aside from a bladed edge, it could incorporate nearly all aspects of other weapons.
His Dao Weapon could not grow like Sun's but otherwise, he met strike for strike at first. The clack of wood was clear but the shockwaves flattened the dirt beneath them.
Their power pulverized any buds that might have been growing there as well as straining the wards.
Lind had started out well but Sun was a literal reborn being. He had vast experience and unlike a phoenix, he was simply returning to his original power. He became like a snake yet had the power of several mountains behind each strike!
The first crack of his right arm was the only warning Lind had before his ribs were slammed and he was sent flying into the wards. His splayed form also coughed up blood.
The sun was now nearly setting but Sun smiled ear to ear. His golden fur shimmered as if the joy in his heart spread to his entire body!
"You are usually better than this. Come, let go of your caution and come at me!" Sun beckoned with his open palm. Lind looked at Sun and his recent success seemed to touch on something.
His Battle Aura had stagnated ever since his ascension. Despite many battles, he had never been able to hone it until now.
Command of every weapon was needed but he wanted to master his Dao Weapon to its limits and plumb its depths first. Yet, despite that desire, his dantian stirred.
Mystery energy suddenly flared and his aura changed. He was not advancing but the intent on his staff shifted.
He was not using the Mysteries but a staff weapon at the Divine Realm.
Sun smiled once more and his own aura changed. The damned battle maniac had been holding back as Divine Staff Aura surged around his lithe body.
The staff suddenly grew but Lind felt it was odd. He looked at the fully empowered Journeyman Tier Sun and it was as if he could see flaws.
His Dao weapon barely moved but his aura surged and Sun's eyes went wide as he was the one sent gouging out tracks on the arena floor!
Lind was weaker but a true Battle Aura was stronger than any single weapon. Still, Lind was irritated.
It felt weak!
The 2 complete and partially filled layers glowed with their Mystery energy and the areas on his staff changed.
The golden, black, and silver motifs fused with his aura and Lind suddenly changed.
"YES! This is what I was looking for!" Sun was thrilled! He now held a staff as tall as a mountain but his speed was not reduced at all!
Lind's emerald eyes saw it and despite the terrifying power descending on him, he held his staff with a wide stance. His figure did not even blink as he struck out and the entire world changed.
Lind had done something and his aura transformed into a beast of its own. A faint roar of a dragon washed over the air and shattered the momentum of the giant staff. He could not scratch it but he could deflect it!
Sun was shocked and unable to respond as the emerald staff made a solid slam into his ribs. The crack of bone was clear but Lind then coughed up a lot of blood and his body weakened.
The Dao Weapon dispersed and he collapsed onto the now glassed soil. Blood flowed from all his orifices and his dantian was completely drained.
Sun was still standing but his body was heavily injured.
"Lind Frey, do you know what you just did?" Lind was on all fours and weakly looked up but Sun's golden eyes held only deep respect in them. "Battle Aura is powerful at lower realms but becomes increasingly difficult to advance in the Immortal and Divine Realms. The issue is fusing Laws, Daos, and Mysteries to it."
Lind knew that. He had advanced his Battle Aura as an Immortal but it was not as effective as before. Yet now, it had drastically changed.
"You have attained Mystery Battle Aura. Only Master Tiers can wield that." Lind understood as a single use had reduced him to such a state.
"Wh–cough–What does it mean that I learned it now?" Lind was curious but Sun was grim.
"It means you are more than you appear. No Apprentice Tier, no matter how gifted, should be able to do that. You are reincarnated?" Lind nodded but offered nothing else. There were limits, even with a friend.
Sun looked at him before sighing.
"You see what it did to you? Do not use it lightly or you will die. Apprentice Tiers cannot touch Mystery level Arts, skills, or professions. They are far too weak." Lind could not argue as he was a living example.
Still, it was a trump card. He could kill a Master Tier with a single strike, at least one at their first Mystery.
Lind then began to cultivate to recover as Sun guarded over him. He had gained much in 2 aspects of his life and wanted to consolidate them into his foundation before proceeding to refine them.
He was growing stronger! His Battle Aura was a key advancement that reassured him. The Bastard could be hurt or even killed!
He just needed a little time!
