Chapter 1610 - 1609 - True Dao Grade Artifact
Chapter 1610 - 1609 - True Dao Grade Artifact
They explored the upper market some more for a few days but moved back to the outer market to not draw too much attention. Anyone that could arrive and spend resources to stay in the upper market would draw too many eyes.
Besides, Lind had gotten 2 of the things he was looking for.
The first was the use of the trap of the Glass Palace. In the few days since he gave his 'lead' to the Fiends, their background presence had diminished immensely.
It seemed they were desperate to find him!
Also, he had felt their deep scan of both Karu and himself but they never got through his Mysteries. It was tested a few times as keeping the disguise up was draining against the invasive scans.
Still, after a week, they seemed content to only scan him as much as they were anyone else.
The other gain was his analysis of the pylons. They were complex artifacts refined with complex inscriptions and materials.
The raw materials were relatively well known to Karu but she could not help him with Forging.
As such, they purchased them in small quantities. She told him they were common to many items but together they would be noticed at a certain threshold.
She also warned him that purchasing any Dao Grade crystals would alert the Fiends or the slavers to his intent no matter who he was.
They were highly regulated even if they were for sale.
Buying them alone meant being monitored so he had to avoid them but pure elemental power was not an issue for him at all. She seemed concerned he would not learn what he needed yet he was far more in need of ores and beast cores.
He then spent a month just examining them. He made sure to grab demonic materials as well for their cover but the issue was the auras always watching the inns.
It restrained him.
Still, he could examine them as he pretended to be a demonic Forger. He was testing strength, capacity, and other factors before a change came. The aura watching the inn they currently resided vanished without warning.
He was about to ask what was up when he heard screams.
He quickly ran to Karu's room but she was fine. They both looked out onto the streets and saw a shocking thing.
Bright green flames were consuming several figures in horrific pain followed by several other colors.
Lind had no idea what was going on until a being with ash gray skin, white hair, and impossibly darky beauty burst out of the street on fire. He saw the female Fiend burn in a way he had seen once before but not with the colors he was seeing.
Then, a very familiar aura of domination flooded the air.
A smile cracked his face as he knew what had happened.
Demonic harmonies! Kexin and Tessa had ascended! They also had clearly gotten to work!
They had the most intimate knowledge of how harmonies could be weaponized and unlike humans, demons seemed to have a far better grasp on attacking with them in their Arts, bodies, and even just pure skill.
"What–what are those?!" Karu was shocked and her old human face looked pale but Lind was confused.
He had told her, hadn't he? He was almost certain he had.
Yet, he could not safely answer until he checked carefully. A quick scan affirmed the Fiends were in chaos.
Hardly any of them were in danger but he took no chances and used a demonic formation plate to increase their defenses while using it to hide a silencing array.
"We do not have much time before they settle but that should be the demonic 6 elementals I told you–" Karu looked at him in utter confusion.
"HOW CAN THEY DO THAT?! SINCE WHEN?!" Lind then understood. He had mentioned how he had noticed his harmony was devastating to Fiends and she accepted it but apparently that had not been true of other 6 elementals before.
He then had an idea.
"Watch." His eyes shifted back to emerald as his aura changed. He would have no better chance to test what he had learned and see if he could break his limits. All 18 elements answered his call but were confined in the barrier.
The demonic and natural ores, beast cores, and what few crystals he had melted with ease. That was the easy part.
He then spoke as his hands moved to control the materials into alloys and the finer particles as the cores shattered.
"A harmony was unknown to us really. We were guessing but I wondered if the harmony was some representation of how elements could come together for an emergent power. Fiends are a fundamental violation of the world yet it was an accident that gave me an idea." A small sphere began to appear as the diverse materials began to reject each other.
It was then that his harmony briefly flared up. Where rejection had begun, it vanished. The once contrary energies smoothed over and began to fuse!
The aura suddenly grew as well but Lind had to concentrate more as it began to slip from his control!
The fine streams of crystal and beast core partially fell to the floor but he pushed beyond as his dantian began to strain. His meridians were channeling power beyond anything he had ever attempted!
The image of what he was trying to convey to Karu was clear but it seemed he was going to fail when more disruptions came from outside. He knew the chaos was now spreading beyond the Fiends.
Those they controlled directly were tied to their lives. If they died or were injured, those lives were forfeit.
Lind felt a swell of power at that thought.
He had thought and said it over and over again. People are not things. Yet, it was clear that Heaven and Earth treated all life as a grand pattern. Things were made to fit into it but a path to defy it still existed.
Cultivation was taking from Heaven and Earth the fundamental forces that made up existence and incorporating them into oneself.
The sphere completed as an emerald flame took up residence at its heart. A fine lattice of crystal and beast powder solidified to make a complex web inside before it was hidden away. Fine patterns of Laws turned into full Daos!
Lind turned fully back into himself but Karu stayed disguised. She looked at him in confusion before awe crossed her wrinkled visage.
His dantian throbbed as a far more powerful energy broke the barrier around them. The chaos outside intruded in full to make it clear the night was blood and death outside.
Yet, neither of them were worried as the power coming off of Lind at that moment would deter anyone!
He looked at the artifact as the bottleneck finally broke.
"Samsara breaks the chains of life and death." A shockwave rocked the room and broke some of the fixtures as well as the formation plate Lind had used before.
His body felt lighter as his aura Forged the sphere.
It shimmered with power as he created a true Dao Grade artifact! It was also a high Dao Grade to boot!
He then collapsed but Karu caught it. The instant she touched it, her disguise vanished but she was too focused on the shimmering metal in her small hands.
It was warm before it began to float on its own and a profound aura filled the room. Lind smiled at his success.
"I discovered my harmony could help others with resonance and imbuing artifacts with that power allowed others to learn what they could do. Yet one thing we all had in common to different degrees and effects was the ability to restore the world around us if it was defiled." His voice was faint but the sphere did its work.
The once pervasive Fiend traces were dispersed with ease!
Just as he could now feed on Fiend energy, so could the sphere given time but it was too soon to let something like that loose.
He slowly picked himself up and put the artifact into his ring.
"What–what was that called?" Lind smiled as a flash of Wyndam went through his mind.
"It is from the Purification Resonant series. It was decided to call it the Sphere of Peace." He had made it so many times long ago for others to learn from his harmony but it had not been done since he was a Sky Realm!
It was the last time anyone of his contemporaries really needed one.
Yet, when he needed to push himself, that humble creation was what brought him not only success but to condense the first part of his 3rd layer! Samsara was a silvery color but much brighter than the first 2 were when they started.
He quickly downed a pill they bought at the markets to recover. He had to stabilize and restore their disguises before anyone noticed them!
