Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 159 - 158 - Draining Accounts

Chapter 159 - 158 - Draining Accounts

Lind had suspected the grade 3 versions of known elixirs would be popular, but the insanity unleashed was beyond even his most extreme estimation.  Irene was floored next to him as Fey was clapping at the numbers flying on the jade display.

Mythra started with the crimson Recovery Elixirs which had been fairly reasonable.  The lowest of the batch had sold for 10,000 World Stones and the highest had gone for 50 Sky Stones.  It was a jump but knowing it was the last one could explain it.

What followed was as if there had been people sleeping on getting the elixirs before.

The violet Restoration Elixirs flew passed 60 Sky Stones at the low end and the final vial was sold for 100 Sky Stones.  Lind had already made back his loss in 2 batches of elixirs!

The Cure Elixirs were not as fervent but still did not drop below 20,000 World Stones.

The Tempering Elixirs were varied by need.  Lind had made 6 pure ones, 1 of each element, followed by some of the known complicated combinations as many cultivators could have an easier time with only needing 1 element caught up.

It was impossible to register the numbers as not only were they shouted but the VIP booths were constantly submitting them in a storm of bids once more.  Lady Estelle had said they would sell well but he saw something that was insane.

"A Heaven Stone?!"  Lind could live out the rest of his life if he never advanced into the World Realm.  Hell, he might be able to live out the life of a World Realm on just that single stone.  Lind wished to know why someone wanted a tempering elixir so badly but he still did not grasp the World Realm himself.

He simply cheated by using his Sky Touch to condense his Qi into World Realm quality.  His recent breakthrough into grade 4 was mostly accidental.  He was so drained afterward it was hard to absorb all he accomplished, but he was getting better at it as he got closer to peak Soul Realm in his foundation.

"M-master Frey!  Look!"  Lind watched as Mythra presented the peak grade 3 air and light Tempering Elixir and the numbers made his blood freeze.  It was 5 Heaven Stones!!!!

"There is no way a power in Cimmeria could pull that off.  A single Heaven Stone could fund an entire sect, including the Heavenly Maiden Sect!"  Elder Yi nodded as she had been drawn to the display.  She seemed to look at Lind in a new light and he worried what level of teasing he would be subjected to later.

Fey giggled at the adult's reactions but Lind patted her head and had her focus on stabilizing her condition.  She was mostly there, but she needed to acclimate to her new status.

"I would have to agree, Master Frey.  Likely, there are observers from the Floating Isles participating.  You may receive inquiries from them in the future."  Lind felt pressure fall on his shoulders.  He could keep his freedom but who in their right mind would ignore such powerful beings?

He would have to be careful about such a meeting.

The frenzy from the Tempering Elixirs made the next 2 batches a bit of a let down.  The Clarity Elixirs still pulled in thousands of World Stones but did not break 25,000.  The Dantain Restoration Elixirs easily cleared 50,000 each.

Everyone thought the elixirs were over at that point but Mythra smiled as she summoned one last vial.

It glowed with an ethereal light but it was not a tribulation spark.  Confused murmurs were silences as Mythra held up her hands.

"As a final surprise, Master Frey submitted one of his greatest works, a peak Heaven Grade 1 elixir.  It is a Meridian Cleansing Elixir."  She allowed some senses to pass over it but more than a few were repelled as the Mortal Realm limited their abilities but some Sky Realms confirmed the shocking words.

This was not a minor thing.  There were those that wondered if Lind Frey would top out at grade 3 due to being a 6 elemental, but the vial in front of them spoke of possibilities.  For each grade, there was a variation for the next world.  It meant there were Mortal grades and Heaven Grades.

Lind Frey had just proved he could reach Heaven grade!  The observation formations at the top of the dome flickered but Mythra had yet to assign a cost.  She was smiling at them all before she stepped to the side.

"As this is the first elixir made by Master Frey of this quality.  I must give some disclaimers.  Per his admission, this is not an easy feat and exhausts his ability for a week at least.  His success rate is also very low."  There were some murmurs as they all understood the point she was driving home.

This was his best at the moment but it was the very extreme limit.  He could not do it repeatedly without consequence.

Lind smirked in his booth as he wondered how they would feel to know he had accidentally made peak Heaven grade 2 and just recently a peak grade 4 elixir by instinct.  He could not do it intentionally, but one day he swore to do so.

"All of this means that this vial is very rare even though it is grade 1, it is a Heaven grade 1.  The Starfire House contacted several relevant powers to get it appraised in time for the auction.  This vial was rated superior."  Deafening silence fell on the coliseum.

The quality of items was fairly rigid.  Low, medium, high, and peak in each grade, but when comparing Mortal to Heaven, there was an additional poor, normal, excellent, superior, and perfect.  A Soul Realm, in the Mortal Realm, had reached the superior ruling for his peak Heaven grade 1.

"As this item cannot be fully understood, an expert in the higher realms affirmed it would open the meridians fully to the best quality for the smoothest transition into the Soul Realm."  Mythra then held up a hand to forestall the excitement.  "Be warned, that this elixir can cause harm to those that have not entered the Body Refining Realm to at least tier 3."

Lind was stunned.  He knew he had done well but he now knew there were higher experts in his own field and they gave his vial the stamp of approval with qualifiers even he did not know about.

Lind looked down at Fey and was so glad he had not harmed her.  It also made him cold to realize just how hurt she was that the majority of the Qi had been consumed simply repairing her body and cultivation.

"As such, Starfire House has assigned the following opening bid."  Mythra wove her hand over a bracelet on her arm and Lind saw the price.  Irene, Ariel, and Elder Yi became slack jawed while Lind felt giddy.

The number listed was for 500 Sky Stones.  A single elixir by itself was already far beyond the reach of many as Lind had already drained many of their accounts!  Lind did not even have to wait as the bid jumped to 510 and began to move!

It was much slower than previous but that was to be expected.  It took almost until sundown since it started in the afternoon.

"We have the final bid of 775 Sky Stones!"  Mythra smiled wide as the elixir was whisked back into her storage ring.  "We will now take a break.  Please note, the next section will contain the rarest of treasures, including the peak grade 2 Forged items of Master Frey!"  Whispering gave way to cheering as several attendants appeared with food and drink to buy from them.

Lind felt giddy as Irene's jade lit up.  She sunk her senese into it before nearly falling over.

"T-they already moved to recover their items!"  It meant Lind had received the excessive stones but he already produced lists he handed to Irene.

"Please submit that to the Sapphire and Starfire Houses for review.  Spend any amount of stones to get what I request."  Lind had never dreamed of being able to resupply nor surpass his hopes.  His limitations were not just limited to his cultivation but the very resources he needed to practice and experiment.

Like all the professions, making money was easy but consuming money was even easier.  Lind knew he would wipe out most of his new fortune but be left with at least 100 Sky Stones worth.

"I did not just drain your accounts, I am now draining mine."  The remaining items on the auction list were of no use to him as they far exceeded what he desired, but he was curious how the Forged items would sell.

It was the other reason he spent all he had just earned.  He had more coming!

Lind was giggling as he felt so light.  He had wondered how he would progress as the further he went the more insanely expensive it became.  This auction would take a huge chunk out of his future expenses for years!

"Big Brother is happy?"  Lind laughed out loud as he patted Fey's head.  He could only nod.

Lind had Irene bring over more food that he prepared for all.  She had to help with the World Realm as it was beyond him but the meal they shared was so warm.  Irene felt Lind was quite strange as most cultivators became distant as they progressed but she never felt like he was that way.

Ariel was amusing herself with Fey as they enjoyed the meal and the little girl seemed to dominate with her cuteness.  Even Elder Yi could only smile at the atmosphere.

"Master Frey, the break is almost over, but your items will be at the end again.  Did you want to change your mind on anything?"  Irene knew he was still flush with wealth but Lind shook his head.  While he had a lot, trying to snag more would leave him with nothing.

He planned to experiment after the auction so it would waste a lot of materials.  It was better to have a reserve for if he needed more.

The auction resumed as grade 4 masterpieces began to appear from the competition.  Lind could only laugh as some sold for less than his elixirs!

He saw Master Harold's artifact necklace that actually came close to a similar shield like the one Lind had created go for 85,000 World Stones.  He was glad to see Master Harold already innovate the idea to other forms.

He sat back and watched as they swiftly moved through the items and materials until Mythra finally returned.  It was late at night and while Lind was tired, he knew World Realms were hardly bothered.

Still, he stayed up and watched the show about to unfold once more.  What kind of storm would be unleashed this time?
