Chapter 158 - 157 - First Item
Chapter 158 - 157 - First Item
The larger VIP suite was now empty of scrolls and slips. Lind had ordered them to be removed and the Sky Realm Maiden glowering made the helpers quickly clean up and leave. Ariel adjusted the formations but Lind had missed a few items he had been curious about.
He did not care as he was examining Fey from top to bottom with his Sky Eyes for any issues. The elixir had exceeded all his hopes but reaching peak grade 4 should have been impossible but he would try to digest it later.
He was exhausted but seeing the bouncing smile of innocence allowed him to stay awake. Irene was annotating a few things and answering messages. The entire auction was buzzing with what occurred but since the host made no comment, no one dared to question it.
"Master Frey, we found them." Lind looked up and smiled darkly out of sight of Fey. He only nodded and the elder left the room. The tension lessened considerably. He would deal with it later.
"So Big Brother is Master Frey?" Fey asked it and he smiled as he patted her head. He nodded and held up a few elixirs for her to look at. The bright colors were entertaining but Hal looked on as his wife held his hands.
"You can call me Lind, ok?" Fey nodded and Irene found her so adorable! "Tell me how you have been and how you progressed so quickly." They chatted while Lind waited for his first item he absolutely would bid on. She had been scouted by the Golden Swan Sect. They were a mixed gender sect but had more women than men.
She was treated as a prodigy being at the Soul Realm so young and heavily nurtured. Unlike the Lotus Empire, the Golden Swan Sect had far better resources that made the Soul Realm a breeze. She had still rushed it but her master had her polishing her foundation before trying to break through.
Fey had also been found to be very good at alchemy. She was only at grade 1 but she had been progressing quickly. Lind smiled as he quickly imprinted some jade slips. He handed them to Hal but held a finger to his lips. The old man nodded and was still crying.
They had come to watch the competition and auction with her sect but then devastation had come. Lind then heard Fey say she saw a little boy being beaten and crying for help. She remembered how her Big Brother had helped protect everyone and she wanted to help.
Lind smiled and pulled her into a hug. She did not remember much after that but the Elder guiding the Golden Swan Sect group had abandoned her as she was now a cripple waiting to die.
Lind felt anger but held it in. It was a cold decision but the slot for a booth was not cheap. Hal revealed it was paid for by the sect and not rescinded. Lind would still be having a stern talk to them, yet he knew the elder was likely in the Stone or Iron Tier.
"I am glad I was able to help. You took a risk, Hal, but thank you for doing so." The scroll had described a granddaughter that was crippled only days ago and included her elements and her age. Only 1 little girl could be like that in the world at that moment, the one he initiated.
Lind gently patted the smiling Fey as she was so happy to be with her Big Brother again. She had not yet noticed her changes, but he could only help her a little as he was still grasping it himself.
"Master Frey, it is coming up." Lind nodded but the expected knock finally came. Lind looked to Ariel to adjust the formations for him to display the information for what was coming.
A demoness was allowed in that he knew well. Hal looked nervous but then they all noticed the pristine white robes on her. Elder Yi was unusually calm. She looked at Fey and nearly dropped her jaw as seeing was believing. It was a 10 year old World Realm!
"Elder Yi, thank you for coming. This is Fey, the first disciple I ever took. She was the first person to benefit from my comprehension of the elements." Elder Yi's eyes widened as she understood his words. "I also had to use a grade 4 elixir to save her life. I believe Elder Peta told the rest?"
She nodded and moved to the other side of the little girl. Fey leaned into Lind but he smiled down at her.
"This is my friend, Little Fey. She is a good person. She is also here to ask you a question." Lind looked up and saw the last sale was wrapping up before his first item came up.
"Hello little one, would you like to join the Heavenly Maiden Sect?" Fey looked confused but looked at Lind instead of her grandparents.
"What about my friends?" Lind laughed and hugged her.
"You may see them again but the Golden Swan left you behind. You could go back, but I wanted to see you some more too. It is up to you, Little Fey." She pondered that for a moment before she got excited.
"Big Brother is at the Heavenly Maiden Sect?!" Elder Yi giggled. Cuteness was too powerful sometimes to Lind's mind.
"Master Frey is a guest elder of our sect. He lives there as well. So yes, he is in the sect." Fey was bouncing as she ran to her grandparents in joy. She was laughing loudly.
"I can be with Big Brother, Grandpa & Grandma!" Lind smiled but had to turn away as it had finally arrived.
"Our next item starts the end of peak grade 3 rounds. We will take a break after this part." The host then stood back as a young human woman with dolled up red hair sparkled under the lights on the stage. She was in a form hugging yellow dress that complimented her skin as it looked like fire on her.
She was clearly with Starfire House.
On the large plate in her hands was a Relic. It had been found in a Ruin underwater off the eastern coast over 6 thousand years ago. Many had studied it, but all anyone knew was that it helped with the gathering of Qi.
Its materials defied analysis yet many had reported making breakthroughs in their dantians when reaching for the Gold Tier. It was up for auction because its previous owner had died and left it to Starfire House. He had been a senior member and had never been able to reach Diamond Tier.
Lind wanted to study it but mostly the fact so many claimed it helped them breakthrough did not seem to be limited by any element.
"Some of you may recognize this dark stone Relic. It can channel World Realm Qi very well but is considered only part of a larger object. It has been in our possession for nearly 1000 years so its authenticity is certain." The host spoke on the item several perked up as those that did not recognize it quickly learned what it was from the item list.
Lind's display changed to show a number. It was in World Stones. He almost fell over at the amount displayed.
It said the starting bid was 20,000 World Stones. Lind had quite a few World Stones but this item was a massive jump since the last item was bought for 8000 some World Stones at the end.
Irene winced but Lind sighed and dropped a bag in her hands. She looked inside and quickly looked back up at him.
"Do not exceed that amount, but get it for me please." He bowed to her and she took up her stance with her sister. The amount had already passed 30,000 in the time it took to talk to her.
Lind sat back as Fey began to talk to Elder Yi. Hal simply laughed as he watched his granddaughter. Lind appreciated that Hal had all the treasure he wanted. They had come to see her and enjoy the festivities in Cimmeria they had heard about.
He moved forward and bowed to them formally.
"I apologize for the dramatics but I was a little upset as I had last heard Fey was ok and doing well." Hal nodded and introduced his wife.
"Faith, this is the man I knew as Taren Cord. Hah! It seems he is the Master Frey! We missed your show but I heard it was amazing." Lind actually blushed in embarrassment which made Faith stare at her husband as he got the powerful cultivator in front of them to blush.
"I showed off a bit. I will do better by Fey this time. I have the ability to do so." Lind promised and Hal just wiped tears away as Faith joined him. She had heard the story of how Fey had suddenly become a Soul Realm cultivator on their journey back. She had found it hard to believe if Fey had not been right in front of them.
Now, she really believed all of it. A kind man met randomly really did exist and saved their little grandchild right in front of them. He asked for nothing and even offered more! The spirits had finally blessed their family!
Lind moved back and frowned as the bidding was not over. That did not bode well.
"I have 95,000 World Stones, are there any more?" The host was over the moon as the Relic was a variable item. Most had dropped out either because they were out of funds or were waiting for more certain items later.
Lind looked on but did not want to give up. He stepped forward and whispered an amount into Irene's ear. She paled and looked at him to confirm but he nodded.
"200 Sky Stones!" Silence descended as all were stunned. Each realm was worth 1000 of the previous. Lind had just placed 200,000 World Stones bid. He had to do it in Sky Stones as he had not converted them yet. He only had 200 of them.
They were not easily used for day to day transactions but he needed some for material purchases. His peak grade 3 elixirs were compensated by the sect via Sky Stones as it made it easier and allowed Lind to get more materials enmasse.
"I have 200 Sky Stones! Any other offers?!" The host was beside himself. "Going once, going twice!" He paused but no one else spoke. No one wanted to waste resources to that extent! "Sold to platinum booth 3"
The announcement made many breathe a sigh of relief. The platinum booths were for the very rich and powerful or extreme VIPs. Either way, it was not someone anyone wanted to cross. The woman smiled as she walked off the stage as the jade slip in her hands glowed with confirmation.
The host was unable to stop smiling as that single sale covered a massive amount of expenditures and they had not even reached the best part of this round!
"Now, my patient audience, we have reached the part many of you have been waiting for." The host pointed back to the gate and an aether child appeared. She was a bountiful and beautiful woman. Her dress marked her as a high member of Starfire House as the reds, orange, and yellow seemed to flicker in reality, not just an illusion.
Her green and crimson skin glowed under the light as her hair sparkled like starlight. She seemed empty handed but then all saw her wave her exquisite hands that flashed and a podium appeared in front of her. A storage ring!
On the podium was a single vial that sparkled under the light. An excited jolt went through the crowd and the host jumped on it.
"That is right, everyone! The first grade 3 elixir from the esteemed Master Frey is now here! Young Mistress Mythra will take over from here!" The host stepped back as Mythra smiled wide and stepped forward. Many were divided on where to look as the elixir was more precious than gold but Mythra was a sight to behold.
"Good afternoon everyone, I will be your host for the rest of this round! The new elixirs are up for grabs and I will be right here with you! Let's begin!" Mythra fired up the crowd and showed off her talent but some sharp eyed cultivators noticed the emblem on her dress.
The symbol of Caltare! This aether child was adopted into the leader of Starfire House family! The message was clear to all, this was only the beginning! Lind Frey had chosen Starfire House to release his grade 3 elixirs in the future!
Tension rose as the formations updated and Mythra began the show.
