Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1582 - 1581 - Carved Sanctuaries

Chapter 1582 - 1581 - Carved Sanctuaries

The beasts gave him a brief tour of the massive palace. The majority of it was to scale with their natural size but there were a few smaller areas where only a humanoid form could pass.

Inside that area was a teleportation array but it was old and broken. He also recognized it was deliberate damage but the rest of that area was just neglect. The broken shards of crystal and metal were just beyond him too.

A simple broken piece and he had no idea how to even properly analyze it!

He was allowed to take the broken pieces away which he appreciated. The area of the palace told him, though, that his suspicions of the kraken origin seemed right on the money.

He wondered about the leviathans though. They claimed to not have a True Lord despite having a Divine bloodline, yet he did not feel the auras he had been able to sense in other races with the Divine appellation.

They did not feel artificial in their lifecycle but he found it odd that the variety was so limited as well. It was more like they were treated as normal animals from the mortal realms.

His head locked onto that thought but then buried it. He did not dare even entertain the argument until he had more information.

Both races had no lower forms in the Celestial Fields unlike dragons, phoenixes, and so forth.

He would need another example or more information from records to be certain he was right. Still, he felt like he was on the right track.

Haro was silent for the same reason unless it was simply explaining something the beasts took for granted.

The newly born princess got tired and was happily napping in her mother's tentacles.

The 4 royals were also his guides despite saying they could easily rest or do what they needed to do but unlike their counterparts in the mainland, the royals only acted to unite against a threat or make decisions regarding trades and alliances to the landers as they called them.

The day to day minutiae he had dealt with as an emperor never bothered these 4. They did have a stronger bloodline than the others of their race, as was typical for beast races, but the krakens once again were unique.

The leviathans went through the normal process of refining and improving as they cultivated and consumed their foes.

The krakens, however, started from a very pure bloodline and it has slowly diluted over time. Their race memory being locked away slowed down their attempts to improve it over their lives as well as the fact that being born in the Immortal Realm left them with relatively little chance to even experiment before the path was set.

Still, they were insanely powerful even without that pure bloodline.

As they resumed examining the palace, Lind realized they had been moving for more than a week and there was still more to the damn place! They were not held back by him either as they carried him with them at speed!

It took days for either beast race to cross their own palace!

Finally, he saw what made their living quarters but it was more like resting places he would expect on a seabed with places for them to stretch out for the krakens or simply float slowly for the leviathans.

[That is the majority of our palace. It is 1 of 2 structures deep in the Void Ocean but the other is a sealed Inheritance. It has not been disturbed ever since our race memory began.] Lind perked up about what the mother kraken said but the fact it was sealed meant there was little he could do plus only the beasts around him could get at it.

Sealed Inheritances were possible to find but in all cases none could be breached as they usually had the protection of the creator and Heaven and Earth. A successful Inheritance that fell within the rules enjoyed such protection, thus the seal.

The 3 Divine Inheritances in the Endless Peaks was his best personal example.

Whatever conditions were set, it was clear such an Inheritance was not meant for land dwelling races. Still, he was curious about it.

The rooms were simple in their foundation but complex in their construction. He tested it with one of his claws and his claw chipped! He stared in shock at his broken golden claw as it slowly healed.

Such defense for a home was insane!

He wanted to know more! His burning curiosity was put on hold as the krakens and leviathans began to discuss something that felt heavy to his senses. He could not totally read expressions from either race but his time as a dragon gave him a good feel for many other tells.

The leviathans seemed to want to deny the krakens something but Lind had already given his word. Eventually, the mother kraken seemed to bring them all to heel. It occurred to him not a single one had given him a name but some beast races did not adopt that convention.

Yet, if they went to the mainland, they had to adopt something, even a Dao title, to easily work with humans and other races.

[True Lord Frey, you promised my mate to take on a mission for us?] He nodded as he had done so. She sighed in his mind but then he saw a branch of the palace flare with power. It was like a path lit up and a pulse flowed away from them.

The equivalent of a bell to summon a servant, maybe?

Indeed, a smaller kraken quickly arrived and pulled in their tentacles to seem smaller before the royals.

They glanced at him but the Queen pointed at him as she spoke.

[Take him to the preserves.] The smaller kraken darkened briefly which Lind took for a sign of surprise. The guide then curled smaller before expanding and indicating he should follow.

Lind bowed and left with them. Back in the hall, the kraken seemed to consider something before offering a tentacle to him.

Once he held on, they took off through the massive halls. Lind was not under stress but he could in no way move as fast as they could.

They left the main structure and entered an area that was meant for smaller beings once again. Yet, the kraken did not transform but merely compress themselves to flit through it. He noted the larger royals could not compress their main bodies like that and suspected the kraken in front of him was closer to a squid or octopus in structure.

Could the source of the kraken race be an altered version of one of those races? He pushed the question aside as a very familiar feeling flowed over him.

Weavings! He felt the pure soul power of weavings but the pressure was unlike anything he had ever experienced.

[True Lord, these are gateways to special preserves maintained by the command of the royal family. I have been commanded to take you to the Purple Forest.] Lind arched an eyebrow at the name but nodded.

They walked into a massive arena-like area. The descending path was accessing levels in a circular pattern. At set intervals, pillars marked off a recessed area that shimmered with power far above even the Master Tier beasts he had just left!

[These are Divine Grade weavings, Master. Only a peak Master Tier or someone with an ability like yours could hope to pull it off.] Lind had been able to create above his realm ever since long ago.

He paused as he felt something familiar. A portal swirled and it called to him from the third level from the bottom but the kraken kept moving until nearly the bottom.

He paused on that third level and his guide turned back in confusion. It glanced at his line of sight and seemed to understand.

[That is a place of dragons. There is no one from the outside in there, only natives to the preserve and they are restricted to the Heaven Realm.]

The words made him snap his neck around in shock. Just what was that place?!

The kraken then urged him to follow until they were at the last level. There were 3 swirling portals but only 1 of them was different from others he had seen.

There was a section of a column lit up with information. He had seen none of them lit up like that and it drew his eyes.

{Tribe Space: 1}

{In use: 5.6 million years Realm Time}

{Resource consumption negligible}

He looked at his guide who was already using nearly all of his limbs to make an intricate shape that turned into a sigil!

The krakens could weave?! His shock was quickly replaced by awe as the swirling energies slowed between the columns until certain points lit up and became anchors to open the path.

The interface perfectly preserved the inside but Lind felt stunned by what his senses were telling him. A special realm was considered a folded piece of space or simply space carved out of an area to be put to use but he felt a world!

He looked at the guide who, while tired, seemed to smirk at his face.

[The preserves were carved out of dying mortal worlds long ago. They were then sealed beyond the gateways woven from the soul of the creator of the palace.] The wording was not lost on Lind.

They did not claim to have made the palace nor the gateways. He also knew that a large foundation of information from mortal to Immortal Realms were needed to have any hope of creating a new race.

He kept his observations to himself as he crossed the threshold and the kraken finally transformed. Unlike the King, their transformation was less firm. It showed that they were not well versed in the humanoid form.

Any confusion about the name of the preserve vanished in a single glance. The verdant and lively forest sang in his ears as a gentle breeze rocked the boughs.

And instead of green, he saw violet. It was not just the trees either. All the grass, brush, and anything that would normally be green was bright to dark violet!

Strangely, he felt no rejection from Heaven and Earth despite being told the origin of what he now stood in. He took in a breath of fresh air and smiled as he was quite comfortable. His guide slid forward as they had no legs.

He followed after and wondered who he was about to meet.
