Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1565 - 1564 - Visitors

Chapter 1565 - 1564 - Visitors

Lind had expected a sailing vessel or maybe even a flying artifact but he was shocked to see it was neither!

It was a massive cylindrical object that hovered over the Void Ocean but never seemed to interact with it. If he was not able to see it with his own 2 eyes, he would not even know it was there!

[Why can't I sense it?] Haro had returned to his ring and Lind had even taken on his emerald sheen to blend in with the forest as he spied on the vessel.

[You have only just added 2 Mystery facets to your Life Layer. Until you complete it, your senses will be very limited the farther from you our aura reaches. However, they will detect you with ease no matter how we hide.] Haro seemed concerned but Lind then exhaled slowly.

His body cooled to the same temperature around him as he seemed to vanish into the undergrowth!

Haro's shock was evident but Lind only smiled. He had met enough plant cultivators to learn a few tricks. There were also 3 species of dragons that actually were fairly close to nature that had adapted to such skills as well.

Instead of simple camouflage, they became one with the world around them. They could still be seen normally but their own scales blended to aid the effect.

Lind remained aware and was able to observe as the ship slowed before turning lengthwise to hover over the northern beach.

The direction was arbitrary and based solely on the assumption the sun was rising and setting east to west per his normal basis.

The middle side of the dark surface suddenly cracked with a loud hiss as it pulled 6 equal segments away. Only a dark opening loomed big enough for a decently sized beast to walk through when a humanoid appeared.

The species was completely hidden from his eyes and he dared not even use his Talents as Haro likely meant any aspect of himself was visible to the new arrival.

It was not robes but almost a suit of armor that covered the being as they hopped down a height no normal person could survive, without breaking their legs at least!

The head swiveled as a glowing artifact set with a large crystal appeared in their hands. Oddly, they did not point it at the island but back out to the ocean!

[Master, they are using an artifact to check if a kraken or leviathan has detected them. If I am not mistaken, that vessel was designed with more stealth features than defenses. Why they are in the Wild Sea, however, I have no idea.]

Haro's words answered a few questions as he only realized he could not hear a thing despite being a dragon with excellent hearing!

The visitor seemed to relax before another hiss at last and sound was returned as their feet caused a crunch on the beach.

A young demon with short cut cobalt hair was revealed. His realm was not in the Divine Realm. His features looked duller than the rest of the world just slightly.

That told Lind he was at most an Immortal.

He must have sent a signal as a small group joined him on the beach. They all wore nearly identical armor but 2 of them had auras even Lind could feel with his current passive state.

[Master, do not answer me for the moment. I can hide my messages to you but you cannot do the same. There are 2 Divine Realms of unknown tier and 5 Immortals. I think they are a mix of humans and demons only but that is only a guess from what I can safely gather.]

Lind appreciated the heads up and focused on the conversation.

The cobalt haired demon youth knelt in the sandy beach to the 2 Divine Realms.

"Grand Elders, we have successfully avoided detection by the natives." An approving nod came as one of them took their helmet off to reveal a demon with curled back horns!

The gaunt face was shaved bald but it was the horns that made Lind nearly call out in surprise. Unlike the lower realms where corrupted demons could have twisted and malformed growths, these horns were closer to Kal's pristine ones!

Yet, even with just his eyes, Lind could tell they were not on that level.

[That is a Wild Demon, Master. They are the culmination of the demonic path of death and destruction. Also, they are known to serve the Fiends but that is not Fiend armor or vessel.] Of that, Lind was certain.

Also, he had met demons that would slaughter the world at a whim but the current horned demon was quite calm.

The other person took off their helmet to reveal a gray and black haired older human man. His face was craggy but not weak in any way. Lind also felt the hair rise on his neck.

Danger! That man was dangerous!

[Master! That is a peak Journeyman Tier! Do not move!] The warning was superfluous but Lind closed his eyes to focus on the words.

"Good. Begin to set up the camp just inside the beach area here. Once the storage array is set up, store the ship away so it can recharge. Ji and Ko, you will stay secured in your armor to scout the surface. Find any dangers and eliminate them.]

The voice that spoke was cracked but deep. It was the Wild Demon's without a doubt.

"While unlikely, bring any prisoners alive. They may have information for us we could use." A gravely voice spoke next before the swift sounds of footsteps went from sand to brush. The old man was calm but something in his tone made Lind almost shiver.

He stayed perfectly still in the days that followed.

He saw them unpack dark metal rods that became a kind of dish shaped once assembled. Arrays lit up before the massive vessel shrunk to lay inside of it! It did not store it away in a separate dimension but just shrunk it.

The strange flow of energy was clearer to him now as it flowed into the vessel.

[Master, something is wrong. They are not wantonly killing but they are too well equipped to be here at random. They knew this island was here. They do not wear anything to identify their origin in any way also. I do not know what they are doing but nothing good!]

Haro could still hide from the Journeyman Tier Divine Realm human. The 2 scouts had come perilously close to Lind but his higher realm kept him out of their detection ability.

They continued to build simple structures made from pre-made artifacts. He noted a complete lack of tents or attempts to use the local flora also. They seemed very keen to not draw attention but Lind was confused.

He had been on the island for centuries and nothing had even once come near him despite being in the open many times.

Why were they being so cautious?

[Master, Heaven and Earth brought you here. Even the leviathans and krakens would not interfere with such a person that also did nothing untoward them. Visitors, however, are strictly treated as enemies.]

Lind realized the problem. These people had only brought themselves and their vessel with supplies. They did not tear up the forest nor did they overtly kill anything that was not a threat to them.

They were methodical, calm, and totally unhurried in their actions.

That left 1 alternative. There was something on the island they wanted badly enough to risk coming to it.

Given its location, a natural treasure could be there but if Lind could not detect it, that meant it was a Divine Realm treasure which left him somewhat confused.

Neither he nor Haro had detected any such thing. He was one thing, but Haro was far more powerful than him.

They were silent most of the time save reports or starting another project. It was a clear sign of discipline.

Lind actually improved his grasp on the technique he employed and blended in so much that the animals local to the island began to rest on him!

He was not sore nor exhausting himself but all it would take was for either Divine Realm to physically see him and he was doomed!

"You understand, senior, that once we take what we came for, this island will be destroyed? We might be able to escape but these weaklings will just be fodder for the beasts." The demon suddenly pulled the old man aside and spoke with derision in his voice.

To anyone else, it would be too soft to hear but it was crystal clear to him.

Why were they talking out loud?

[Master, they can be detected by the local leviathans or krakens. If they know they are here, they will come for them.] Lind found that odd.

True he may be an exception but wouldn't any beast randomly near the island see or hear all the noise? As if reading his thoughts, Haro told him the most idiotic thing he had ever heard.

[They have no interest in the land. It is only the Void Ocean that interests them. They will kill anyone foolish enough to enter uninvited. I had no need to worry about you with how we arrived but this group is different.]

Lind thought about that for a bit and an idea came to him. He had to chance contact but be as concise as possible.

He waited for the group to all be engaged and told Haro 2 words.

[Tell them.]
