Chapter 1531 - 1530 - Terrifying Master
Chapter 1531 - 1530 - Terrifying Master
Taim leapt out of a shadow to save a family led by a Moon Tier. The children were crying but he took them from their rooms before the building collapsed.
HIs Master was battling with the Vermillion Trio. They were demonic brothers that reveled in carnage.
In the century since his Master took him in, he had seen many famous Free Groups fall to his power.
Lind Frey was not just his Master but a Divine Progenitor True Lord of Dragons. His grasp of the elements helped Taim become a Shard Tier in record time even in the Divine Lands!
He was almost a Crystal Tier in less than a hundred years!
Taim was now extremely handsome and well muscled as he used a massive broadsword to slice falling structures from falling on his own head. He had evacuated most of the civilians from the underground city.
He knew his Master was desperate to advance but the reign of terror could not be ignored. So many had died before the supreme powers began to act, yet they ran into the wall of backing powers.
Factions in the Divine Lands essentially sent orders and made the supreme powers impotent save the few that were grown locally.
In the century since he started following him, his Master had begun a campaign of slaughter that made the Divine Land forces look laughable.
Many of them were small groups that had no chance against him but others were like the mercenaries that brought him down to the Celestial Fields.
In those cases, his Master engaged in traps and guerilla tactics that brought them to their knees. It was terrifying to see him work sometimes.
He was so kind to Taim and his friends but to his enemies, he was an implacable foe. He clearly had fought tooth and nail during his cultivation journey. Taim had seen people ascend with ease in the Divine Lands.
Becoming an Immortal was merely a matter of time, but the Celestial Fields showed him why ascenders were terrifying. If they could become Apprentice Tier Divine Realm cultivators, they would be far more tempered than the natives.
The battles helped his Master too. Taim had seen the low high Sovereign Tier aura slowly increase as he faced powerful foes. The Immortals from the Divine Lands had far more control of Dao than down in the Celestial Fields.
He was unsure how his Master advanced in the battles as his foundation was very profound. Taim had told him all he knew too as his Master had incomplete knowledge.
Shockingly, his Master adapted quickly and was able to use more of his power than before without endangering the 4th layer.
Taim had always been told that the lower worlds were ignorant ants but he saw his Master casually turn everything on its head. His elemental theories helped Taim remake his foundation to make himself an elite.
He dropped off the current family in the safe area and went back into the city to save who he could. His Master did not allow instant death but that was his limit. He had to focus on his fights as his foes were on his level or above.
There had been some close calls but that was when he saw his Master in his pure form. A massive emerald dragon with golden claws that rend any obstacle to shreds.
It had not always been smooth but his Master had yet to fail. Yet, that was not the most terrifying thing about him.
Taim had some skill in alchemy. HIs Master had none but was able to improve Taim's alchemy with ease!
Taim had always been told that elixir masters had no ability to guide alchemists but his Master proved that wrong! He had also seen him guide refiners and formation masters despite not having the ability in either field!
It was not lower realms but his contemporaries in the Sovereign Tier!
Taim saw one of the demons suddenly torn into pieces as their soul was dispersed! How many Divine Land natives had his Master truly killed by then?
Taim had lost track but the current group was likely the last. The last 20 years had been hunting any remnant group.
Taim knew his Master was sending a message. It was quite simple too.
{If you send people after me, they will die.}
Taim got the last family out as the city was turned into rubble. He saw the last 2 demons desperately resisting but Taim knew they would fail. His Master's emerald energy flared and became weapons of all kinds.
Battle Aura flared and the end was sealed. Taim had no skill with weapons like his Master but he was improving his intent to fight.
His manifest born skill had been re-invigorated by Lind. He was raw physical power made flesh. The reason he had endured so long was because his body was tempered by flame and darkness.
It empowered his soul and body to fuse. Thus, as he grew stronger, it caused an explosive growth in his body each time!
Even so, Taim had yet to lay a finger on his Master in their training. It was not about speed, but pure strength!
A single finger could stop Taim cold. He was convinced even a hair on his Master's head could slay him with ease.
The battle finally came to an end and the demons were dead.
His Master appeared bloody but healing. The gashes, broken bones, and even a serious gut would hardly seemed to phase him.
"Damn Acid Flame Art! It is way too corrosive!" He held up his essentially trashed robes. At least a third of it was missing, exposing the imposing upper body of his Master.
The weeping survivors bowed to them but Lind waved them off.
"We need to leave, Taim. Take care of a few things and meet me at the west entrance." Taim cupped his hands before summoning food, clothing, and some resources to help rebuild.
The stunned looks on the families made him smile.
As time passed, the various forces sent to find his Master learned what he was doing. Some took it as a challenge and broadcast their location but he never went. Any sane person would know that was a death sentence.
Instead, he whittled away at those that either tried to hide or did as the demons in the current location had. Trying to use the natives as a personal plaything!
The pair swiftly left the city but luck was not on their side as 2 powerful auras were closing in. Taim frowned but Lind only engraved the air instantly until they vanished from the world.
The pair saw 2 men appear in pristine white robes. While many powers existed that used white in their colors, only the Heavenly Maiden Sect was known to use the style the men did.
Taim began to shiver when he saw them. The black emblem on their chests confirmed who they were.
"What is wrong?" Lind was nearly healed and had on new crimson robes but Taim could only point at the floating pair of men.
"Divine Mandate Sect. They are one of the leaders of the Destiny Faction." The names meant nothing to Lind as he could see so Taim swallowed his fears as he began to speak.
The Destiny Faction was old, one of the few that endured despite the Fiend attacks. The reason was simple. They only supported powers that maintained the proper order of things.
They were somewhat small in population due to that but had ruthless methods to acquire power and had risen up when so many had fallen.
The Fiend Wars had actually been of use to them at times but Taim recalled the horrific caravans run by the faction.
They not only enslaved but used aether children, demons, and other races as cauldrons!
Far too many powers saw no issues with such practices so long as they were not humans.
Taim had seen several during his short life with his big brother and sister. He had almost been kidnapped by one too!
Taim was so afraid as he relayed what he knew, he was late at noticing his Master was already gone.
He had just finished a battle and was exhausted. Where had he gone?
The sky went from blue to emerald suddenly. A roar from a dragon made Taim collapse and everyone within ear shot felt a weight on their souls.
The 2 men fell out of the sky because their heads were gone and souls destroyed! It had been too quick!
A supremely exhausted Lind Frey also fell out of the sky but the smile on his face was burned into Taim's memory.
The mantra of his Master came back to him once more but with far more context.
{People are not things. Not now, and not ever.}
His Master held the Dao of Defiance and at that moment, Taim finally grasped fully what that meant.
The world was a cruel place but Lind would never accept it as inevitable. He would not run and hide from cruelty. He would fight back!
He would push himself to his limits to do it too. Nothing could stop him. Taim appreciated all over again what many enemies had called his Master.
He was a monster that could not be stopped!
