Chapter 1496 - 1495 - Peak Law Grade

The auction had gone on for a few weeks when it finally got to the peak Law grade items. Lind was predominantly in that category.

Elixirs, Forged items, and weaving plates had been made by him in large quantities. Fey also had pills in the auction but they were but a drop in the bucket as the various powers put forth discovered items or their own works.

[The next item is a grouping of pills. True Focus Pills, Still Flow Pills, and Steady Heart Pills.]

The batches were at least 3 vials each and even Lind knew many Immortals would covet the set.

The mind, soul, and body pills were considered essential for seclusion. They were also notorious for the difficulty in their creaton!

He saw many individuals start bidding until it got into the 7 figures again. The final stretch would generate a massive amount of resources for the Throne, but Lind felt his interest wane.

He had unexpected gains and he wanted to focus on healing as he felt exhaustion begin to wash over him. He entered a kind of pseudo sleep state where he was still aware but time became fluid.

The auction was a blur of colors and numbers until a new sensation washed over him. His 6 nodes were acting up! He worried he had made a mistake in his relaxed state but his harmony was solid.

The flow of Qi was stable but now it was flowing far more strongly than before. He looked out and saw something he had not seen in a very long time.

A brilliant blue crystal contained behind several arrays was slid out on a platform. It was easily as big as a dragon coiled into a ball but the demonic aura was clear.

"Is that–?" Ethry was the first to realize what it was but Fey spoke up to confirm their feelings.

[We have a very rare item. In fact, only one other confirmed one has been seen in all the realms. A Harmonic Law Crystal, at the peak of the Immortal grade.] Dead silence fell across the arena. Lind frowned deeply as he scanned the item list once more.

There was nothing like it listed at all!

"What is going on?" He stayed calm but Qing and Lysanna sent out calls via their jade stone communication artifacts.

It did not take long for the answer to come back.

"It was a sealed casket. The seal was weakening and they had us analyze it for the auction. It could not be broken by anyone. It only opened on its own–" Qing paused and looked right at him before she spoke again. "It opened when you summoned that Dao Weapon against the Immortal Berserker."

Lind's eyes went wide! It would have taken most of the month to study the thing to confirm what it was!

No wonder his nodes were reacting! It was pure elemental power balanced inside a harmonic crystal at the peak of Law Grade!

His harmony was created via natural Qi, even as he added the other 2 elemental systems, that fact remained unchanged. Compatibility did not mean finding a demonic harmony would make it react like the Rubyfire Empire crystal.

"Who had the casket?" The pair looked confused as they seemed to not believe the answer.

"The Heavenly Maiden Sect." Any chance of it being a coincidence went out the window. Lysanna also understood that the fact of what it was had been withheld until the moment of presentation.

That presented a problem, technically. It was given for the auction, likely to be sold earlier, but now it was extremely valuable.

"Get me the Sect Master." He quickly made a decision as his body was feeling much better as time passed. His lethargy was completely wiped away by both the revelation and the flow of half-step Dao elemental Qi.

His screen shrunk and the isolation wards were strengthened when the wizened old face of the woman in white and gold appeared. She looked calm but he could see the agitation in her face.

[Why were we not informed?!] He looked helpless as he relayed the sequence of events. Apparently, the thing had only been identified in the last week before the auction and the Harmonic Dragons had simply moved it without updating the list.

From their perspective, it was given to be auctioned off. As Fey had said, there was only 1 other in existence known and it was firmly fixed in place in the Rubyfire Empire.

Lind had not known they could even be sealed away like that and retain their power!

He kept an eye on the bidding and it had crossed 8 figures! It was not slowing down at all!

[How can we let it slip away?! Can you not stop the auction?!] If anyone else had asked, he would have rejected them outright but it was his mistake that had caused it and further, the item was extremely dangerous.

He was one of the few individuals alive that knew what would happen if someone tried to control that crystal without many safety precautions. That included the Heavenly Maiden Sect.

Yet, the crystal was currently stable without any outward sign of the danger. He could try to make it react, but he had no idea what it would do.

It could actually destroy the entire arena!

He needed to calm the Heavenly Maiden Sect first and she seemed to grasp the severity of the situation. Lind then pushed a crystal built into the side of his chair.

Fey, in the midst of crossing 9 digits for the bidding, held up her hand to pause the flow of events. She then put a small cone shaped blue artifact to her ear.

"Fey, that Harmonic Crystal has a severe danger. If anyone tampers with its balance, it could destroy an entire territory or more with ease. Further, given the malleable nature of the 4th layer, that crystal could totally transform a territory into something beneficial for its existence. A Throne can resist but I assume those formations were not put in place by us?"

She nodded but said nothing. She glanced at the blue crystal and an aura emanated from her.

A feeling of pure danger filled the arena that brought all complaints to a halt. Every Immortal there had felt their very existence was endangered at that moment.

Lind sighed that Fey could have chosen to speak a warning first!

[One moment. An issue had been discovered with this item. An expert is being called.] All pairs of eyes in the room turned on him but he raised his hands!

He was innocent!

Still, it did not help when Fey tore into the room. She had an artifact to allow her to do so in their suite. She bowed to him and his wives.

"I am sorry, Father, but you are the only person that can examine it safely." The pressure fell off him but he slowly nodded.

Emerald scales flared on his body as he stood up. He had to invoke his draconic strength to move normally at the moment. He would be getting an earful from his Mother later but it was critical he examine that crystal!

He appeared on stage with Fey. The fact he had not placed a single bid on the item made no one object. Further, he brought out several exotic artifacts.

One was a lattice sphere that was opened up to engulf the crystal. The formations were untouched thanks to a few tricks on his part but he then placed a tripod at 4 directions of the crystal.

He had Fey infuse them with her strongest aura. They flared with her Daos power and a new shield went up. Such a grave precaution made all watching swallow their tongues as the tension built.

[What I am about to do is the most basic analysis anyone would do on a crystal. The artifacts I have deployed do one thing only. They use Qi, Laws, and even Dao to contain the target.] The aura of all the artifacts confirmed that for the Sovereign Tiers.

The current winning bidder was a demonic kingdom and the man looked pale as he saw Lind use a basic flame conjuring to see what the crystal would do.

The instant the flame touched the shining facet closet to him, the world was blinded by demonic Qi! The sound of metal shearing and wood snapping was clear to all but as quickly as it started, it vanished!

As vision was restored, all were shocked to see that while Lind and Fey were fine, the area inside the tripod ward was just gone! The lattice sphere was entirely destroyed and any physical object had been consumed!

Everyone had seen the kind of punishment the materials of the arena withstood in both fights and crafting failures. Any cracks or damage had been repaired nearly instantaneously after very little time passed.

Yet now, the damage remained! The blue crystal now sat at the bottom of a small crater, only small because of the precautions Lind took! He had to use Dao empowered artifacts that suddenly cracked into dust as they watched!

[I need 3 Formation or Weaving Maesters, now!] His call was answered swiftly from the back area. He had them construct layered and inter connected protections that mimicked the first set of formations seen.

Only when it happily floated once more behind layers of protections did everyone breathe easily.

[You all saw what happened. I cannot repeat it again as I do not have enough artifacts to withstand its power. If this crystal is taken to a normal area of the 4th layer, it will cease to exist. It will be remade into whatever harmony this crystal desires. The Rubyfire Kingdom volcano is what it is today due to the same principle.]

He left out his own interaction with it but he was not wrong. That volcano was extremely dangerous to all life if not properly aligned or prepared.

[We will do this. It originally was donated by the Heavenly Maiden Sect. I will call their Sect Master and those demonic powers that wish to negotiate a safe place for it to be put and studied under heavy containment. Once we know its nature, we can plan from there.]

The various powers nodded and no one argued. The potential danger was clear to them all. Peak Law Grade? That thing was nearly on par with Dao!
