Chapter 1455 - 1454 - Re-Evaluation
Chapter 1455 - 1454 - Re-Evaluation
Lind took charge of Fey. Her Daos would repair her damage for her body but her soul was an entirely different matter. Her dantian had cracked!
The Berserker's Dao was terrifying!
It just kept increasing his power and Fey had not been able to withstand it on a fundamental level. If not for the Dao of Life, she would be dead!
He carried her to the healing ward setup in the arena. There were several people already under their care that had barely survived their combat or suffered Qi deviation during their production contests.
"Fey?!" His Mother was there and she looked terrified as Lind brought in the battered form of his adopted daughter. He spoke no words as elixirs and other weavings went into effect once he placed her on a bed.
Each row was designated for each tier of the Immortal Realm in the ward they were in. Sliver Tiers were relatively easy to heal but Radiant and Sovereign Tiers were far more difficult.
Their bodies required specialists to analyze and grasp how to restore them. Fey, in particular, was difficult as she had Daos actually flowing through her body. Only 1 person could help her in that state.
Lind, himself.
His energies were strong enough to guide her body and soul to repair themselves. It was also damned delicate when it came to the dantian.
The Daos resisted him interfering but their power would actually make things worse! For all that Fey and Lind could command Daos, their bodies were still of Immortals. Even his, that had been remade specifically to be compatible, could be hurt by the forces they attempted to command.
It required constant care and tempering to improve them but Fey's current state was too dangerous to rely only on elixirs.
His emerald Qi was all he could use. It flowed through her meridians not gently like a breeze but like the inevitable flow of the river. It would not be denied!
The body was perfectly recovered but the Qi floweed to the dantian. The crystal there was an intricate construct unlike anything he had ever seen. One half was like a vibrant set of plants leading to the other half that was trying to wither and die.
He felt it just looking at them. He saw her elements had been changed as well but not to the extent of his. She only had natural Qi.
Still, there was no longer any difference between secondary and primary elements. She was equally balanced.
Only as he saw it clearly now did he fully grasp how much further down the road to the Divine she was. If she fully recovered, her foundation would improve!
Lind made sure to begin by exerting his strongest Dao. Emerald Qi flared and while there was resistance to his interference, it was not dangerous. The crystal began to absorb the healing energy he sent and slowly restored itself safely.
The leaking power calmed down as the once dangerous situation resolved under his care.
Lind suddenly opened his eyes and looked around. Night had been enacted but he had no idea how many days he had been involved.
"It has been 3 weeks. You are lucky you are a Sovereign Tier, my son." His Mother gently hugged him and offered a steaming cup of tea. He smiled as he looked down at Fey.
Her color was restored and he could tell her foundation was solid. It was also advancing smoothly to the peak.
She was going to be at the threshold soon. Whether she was ready or not, he could not say, but she was likely to be the first among them at her current rate.
"That Berserker's Dao is not like us. I grasped my Dao of Defiance almost by accident and grew from there with the help of my experiences in the Inheritances in the Endless Peaks. Fey is like me in that regard, but he did it all on his own." The vast difference was clear.
Lind's harmony might be close to the same path but it did not change the fact he struggled to understand what his Dao was for so long after he became an Immortal. The legends had it the Berserker had been like he had seen for millions of years.
Lind was not even 300,000 years old by a large margin! Talent may let them progress faster but experience could not be shortened. That monster was not just powerful but grasped every facet of his Dao in ways even Lind could not claim to know his own soul!
"Can you face him or will you end up like Fey?" He did not answer her immediately. While he had not been wrong that Fey and he were nearly the same in the path they walked, there were stark differences.
Her Daos could be considered external. His original Dao, however, had been born long ago. Hell, his harmony had been a Law before he was able to truly grasp them.
After seeing the Berserker unleash his, he realized he was going about things incorrectly. He was not wrong, but he was trying to contain what should be embraced. The existence of his Throne was down to his own emotions and Dao reacting to each other.
When he let the power run with his feelings, it became capable of miraculous things but he tried to regulate it most of the time.
Even as he advanced, it was more about keeping it under control rather than looking at every detail possible.
He let his Daos suddenly flow around him. Gently, not trying to harm anyone but rather than force them apart, he wanted to see how they interacted.
Rather than chaos, they began to integrate and his body shifted slightly as he felt power flow through it. It was not a leap forward, but almost like something in the recesses of his foundation had been missing.
The solidity felt massive and unbreakable. He also felt like he could make a little step forward but first he let his Daos continue. He slowly integrated them into his crystal and his elemental nodes actually became more free!
He could pull on more power than before!
"Are you all right?" His Mother had stayed quiet as she no doubt felt the shift in him but he smiled.
"I am better than all right. I think I understand a bit better how to move forward in my circumstances. It does not shorten the road by much but it gives me a lead to pursue. It also gives me my answer. I do have a chance, Mother." She smiled but he saw the worry in her eyes.
He did not lie to her. He now truly understood what he faced and had strengthened his Daos. Yet, experience could still undo him.
A master swordsman was not achieved in a single moment but in the accumulation of centuries of experience. Talent could help shorten that timeline but experience was still needed.
Waving a piece of metal around was vastly different from using it in real combat. Lind knew that all too well. Further, the Berserker clearly relished his path.
He was not just advancing his cultivation but swimming in his Dao. It made a difference and would make fighting him terrifying.
Lind sighed as he stood up. His next contest was soon. It should be elixirs and it would not be an elimination this time. This time, he would have to make something that would be used immediately.
If he won again, he would be in the semi-finals. Still, even he did not know what was to come. It was the only fair way.
He left the healing ward and found several people waiting for him. His wives and children, not actively in events, looked up and he smiled.
"Fey will be fine. Her injuries are almost fully recovered." Smiles spread but Annabelle came up to him and looked him deep in his eyes. Her concern was clear.
He could only shrug his shoulders at the unasked question. She nodded and his other wives became grim. Unlike Fey, a dragon's resilience was likely to not allow Lind to fall unconscious.
It would be a fight to the death.
"Come, let us go see what is going on with Cyntilla or Ethry. They should be in the middle of their fights, yes?" The others nodded and the group filed out. He smiled at them and wondered if his days were coming to an end.
He shook off the dark question and followed his family. It was not the time to consider the fight but his next production rounds. He was confident in weaving for obvious reasons but the other 2 were going to be harder.
The previously mentioned experienced experts were awaiting him in those contests as well. There was a Forger that had been in seclusion for over 5 million years that had come out when the tournament was announced.
He had quashed any rivals in his area with ease and sailed through the elimination rounds.
There was also a woman that made elixirs on par with Lind's in some respects. His variety gave him an edge but that was all, an edge. She had yet to show her full ability either.
Thankfully, he did not face them in the direct contest yet. He truly expected to face them in the semi-finals or finals though. He would have to do all he could to prepare.
